Hypocrisy

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Haven’t heard much about Occupy Wall Street (OWS) lately, but it is still going on.  The official premise is to protest greed and corruption on Wall Street.  Unofficially, I think it is a bunch of people who have awoken to the fact they have been financially screwed.  Yes, I know the Communist party, Nazi party and unions are all trying to hijack and latch onto this movement, but I think, at its heart, it’s much more than that.  It’s about not having a fair and level playing field for everyone to play on.  Harvard Professor Elizabeth Warren summed it up perfectly when she said, “We rescued at the top and told the bottom to fin for itself.”  OWS would have never started if we had let the banks fail, protected only the depositors and fired and prosecuted some big bankers.  Instead, we continue to bail them out, and top bankers continue to collect big bonuses for the mess they caused.  On top of that, our own government officials and financial watchdogs allow phony accounting to make the banks looks solvent.

The video you are about to see is titled “I Am Not Moving,” but I think is should be called “Hypocrisy.”  It has gotten nearly a million You Tube views and is an interesting and poignant piece of work.  Both Republicans and Democrats should take notice.  I do not believe in everything the OWS movement stands for, but I fully support their right to peacefully protest and exercise their First Amendment right granted under the U.S Constitution.  Enjoy the video below:

Greg, the video is not working.

      Steve,
I just checked it and it is working for me. Try it again please it is worth watching.

        Working now.

I have always found it interesting what the MSM had for find the leaders, their motives and their goals. I am glad they have not, because that would put them in a box.

The comments of our government officials, they need a BIG mirror to look into, and take notice. The people of their country are feed-up too.

Thanks Greg for sharing the video, it will go directly to my FB page.

This video nails it and agree with your totally.

I almost came to tears watching that. The Internet has exposed all for everyone to see. And it gets UGLIER by the day. I cannot hardly believe that we have come to this.

      Thank you Richard and Steve.

Hi Greg, http://www.occupynews.net has over 175 Occupy Blog RSS feeds, plus links to live stream which has 67 occupy video feeds. Just because it isn’t in the mainstream news does not mean things are not happening on a day by day, hour by hour basis.

    • Greg

      Alessandro,
Thank you for setting the record straight.

Insurrections in the Middle East enabled and organized by the US government supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists gaining power to enforce sharia in multiple countries is an advance for the region? That communists, socialists, anarchists, drug users, sexual predators, criminals on the run, the mentally unbalanced, and other unsavory elements in the OWS will have any positive outcome? No, this is a slow motion disaster, the first of many levels of disaster as we cycle down into the depression that is unfolding all around us.

Ohio had a big vote on labor rights. I think the Republican party is toast. The people know who wasted the wealth of this country and it wasn’t Mary the teacher. The bankers should of let some of that money trickle down, like they said it would. Tax cuts , useless wars, freetrade and the 9/11 thing. Just a lawless country and the people are tired of the whole mess.

    • John

Both the Democrats and the Republicans are toast. With a few exceptions, like Ron Paul (R-Texas) and Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) and a few others both partys are completely owned by the oligarchy. Sadly the House of Representatives, the Senate, the White House and the MSM are nothing more then courtiers to the powerful elite bankrupting our ounce great nation.

Many kings (CEOs), their messengers (Politicans), and the sheep/cattle – slaves and serfs. Welcome to the Jungle.

    Greg,
I support not what they say but their right to say it. I don’t support them living or camping on public property [parks, etc]. They have $100,000s they can afford to get a room at the motel 6. I love the video. The werdos [communist, socialist, ner’do’wells are a higher % than the other people. If the Unions and Soros were not bank role them I’d feel a little better about their movement.
The little guy not only got screwed while the bankers got fat, but the little guys children were sold into serfdom. We have a right to be angry.

  9. Daniel

Greg, your right to call this hypocrisy cause it is. It is another example of politicans and bankers speaking out of both sides of their mouth. They preach for democracy in other countries while at the sametime destroying the rights and freedoms of Americans. I don’t know if end days are coming or not but I find myself wishing more and more for them to come asap.

I too support the right to peacefully assemble and protest, but this movement is being taken over by some bad elements. The original OWS protesters are going to end up being cannon fodder for the anarchist when all hell breaks loose. We saw a taste of it in Oakland. The original OWS put out fires and joined arms to prevent a Whole Foods store from being sacked. The anarchist were a small group and were held off that time. I was proud of those young people, but fear the day will come when they can’t stop those who desire to turn this protest into a war.

    • RANDRAND

-AND IF YOU SHALL NOT HAVE THE CANNONS OF WAR AT THE READY, HOW SHALL YE DEFEND YOURSELVES AGAINST A CULTURE THAT WILL TURN ON YOUR GOOD INTENTIONS AND TURN THE PEACEFUL GROUND OF PROTEST LIKE UNTO A CHARNEL HOUSE OF LAMBS TO THE SLAUGHTER? (THE MARXIST INITIATIVE TO PROTECT WORKING LABOR)

      • Greg

        Randrand,
Marxism has been a failure in every country it has been tried in. Labor cannot supersede capital. It is cap[ital formation that creates jobs not labor.

    The “OWS”

Mostly a group of well meaning but highly misguided individuals who have failed to grasp the real problem. As usual the protesters are targeting the symptom rather than the cause.

It has been a total lack of Government regulation and oversight that allowed the financial disaster to develop and then blow up in the first place. The solutions have been Government sponsored solutions as well and all the Pres Obama talk 3 years ago about supporting Main Street rather than Wall Street was just political speak to placate the sheeple. There is no effective regulatory structure in place to monitor and correct any future excesses and overly risky investment practices and it’s seemingly business as usual. We still have no conrol or transparancy in OTC derivatives etc etc. We still have a Fed that effectively considers itself unaccountable to no one other than it’s own consituency(primarily its owners) and which treats any kind of Congressional inquisition with polite disdain. Yet the Government refuses to change this situation. The privately owned Fed remains in total control of monetary policy depite it’s alarmingly poor record and classic mismanagement.

The finance industry is entitled to operate within its own regulatory regime just like any other industry and will do what it is permitted to do. If this causes a problem you don’t expect the industry will change. The Government has to step in to change the rules within which it operates. That is what they were elected to do and have failed to do over many years.

IMHO the OWS protesters would do well to focus their attention on Congress, the Administration and the Fed. Both Political parties must be laughing behind the scenes that the OWS people are targeting the finance industry rather than the real problem – namely Government and an inappropriate and sloppy regulatory regulatory regime they have created as well as policies that have the effect of diverting much needed capital from truly productive real industries into much highly risky unproductive financial speculation. Meanwhile the Fed remains expert at inflating dangerous financial bubbles, and when they ultimatley burst, change monetary policy to inflate others.

The OWS lot can protest Wall St till the cows come home but that will not change anything. Eventually they might wake up that their protest is nothing more than a colourful media event and an intimidation of authority and the rule of law but I am not counting on it.

Meanwhile the lawmakers are spending much time doing what they do best, namely, seeking big political campaign donations from the Finance industry and others with the capacity to pay for their grossly inflated election campaigns. Then occasionally a few will appear on the media to lend moral support to the OWS cause, probably just after a nice lunch with a Wall St lobbyist and his client who has just promised a $600,000 campaign contribution – with more to come.

    Cheers

    • MasterLuke

Government is the paid representation of the finance industry. Why would the messenger be laughing while the king is targeted? The messenger depends on the king (corporations are kings in this country). We live in 2011 people. . . Wake up and see that our government is nothing more then puppets. They are hired representatives.

      • John

It is funny how the sheeple with the brain capacity of a 3 year old call it campaign contributions. The rest of us call it bribes and kick backs. Like Gerald Celente says, voting today for either Democrats or Republicans is like choosing between the Gambino’s or Bonanno’s.

Greg, you quote Elizabeth Warren, “We rescued at the top and told the bottom to fend for itself.”

Unfortunately Ms. Warren has already sold out. She was a longtime consumer advocate, and a foe of the big banks until 14 Sep 2011, when she announced that she would run for a U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts.

Instantly she reversed all her positions and became a politician.

The Boston Herald reports that she supports the “war on terror,” and wants the USA go to war with Iran.

“Our number one responsibility is to protect Americans from terrorism. That’s our job. Being tough on terrorism is enormously important.”

    http://www.bostonherald.com/news/politics/view.bg?articleid=1373226

Regarding the Occupy Wall Street people, I see them as like a baby who has not yet learned to talk. It is hurting, but does not understand that the problem is an open diaper pin (i.e. control of the money by private bankers). So it screams and kicks its feet, hoping that mother (government) will help it, but mother simply beats the baby (sends in the cops). The baby cries louder, and the beatings increase. In places like Denver and Oakland, the beatings are severe. Soon they will become lethal.

The protesters can march against poverty forever, and nothing will happen until they understand that the federal government has the unlimited ability to support the poor, the sick, the homeless, the uneducated, the cheated — all without taxing the wealthy.

We just need to take back the money power from the private bankers. Then we can raise the condition of the poor without bringing down the rich.

If the protesters do not understand the need for Public Monetary Sovereignty, then the bankers will easily talk them out of any goals they produce. The “1%” will ask them how they intend to pay for what they want, and the protesters will embark on a fruitless discussion about whom to tax and how much.

And as long as the protesters believe the private bankers’ lie that the federal government’s funding is limited, the 1% will easily make the kids look like lazy thieves who want to steal hard-earned money from the rich.

You want more taxes on the rich, and the corporations? Forget it. They pay nothing, and never will. We don’t need taxes on the rich and the corporations. We need to reclaim our money power from the bankers.

Besides, the federal government does not run on income tax revenue. It runs on money borrowed from private bankers. All federal income tax revenue goes directly to the private bankers to pay the interest on the money those bankers have lent the government. So if you tax the rich, you send more money to the bankers.

If this seems absurd to you, too insane to be believed, then you’ve got the picture.

I believe in a level playing field, but why not level everyone UP, rather than trying to bring the rich DOWN? To do this, we must take back the money power.

Yes, OWS needs goals, but before the goals there must be understanding. Just as austerity breeds austerity (creates a debt spiral) so do hate, envy, and resentment breed more of the same.

Private central bankers have monopolistic control our money.

This is the cause of 95% of all our problems.
