Politician Pope, China US Visit, Russia in Syria, Hillary’s Email Update

4By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com (WNW 209 9.25.15)

On his first visit to the U.S., the Pope is acting more like a left wing politician than a messenger of Christ. He has scolded Congress on everything from global warming to immigration. Most of his criticism is directed at Republicans though. There was not a single criticism given to the Castro regime in Cuba, and last I checked, their government is communist and atheist. I have been following the intense coverage and reading the Pope’s quotes, and I have yet to hear one public mention of Christ. I am a former Catholic that left the church after the pedophile priest scandal and the cover-up that went all the way to the Vatican. I like Catholics and have no problem with the main points of the Catholic Doctrine. The five main parts of the Catholic Doctrine are: Christ is the Son of God, Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, Christ died on the cross and shed his blood for the sins of the world, Christ rose again from the dead, and Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead. Please notice how ALL five major points of the Catholic Doctrine (which I totally agree with) are centered on Jesus Christ. While the Pope has mentioned God a few times in his public quotes, I have not heard a single quote that mentions the name of CHRIST.  WHY??????  I don’t know if it is because the Pope just forgot to do so, or if he would like to see a one world religion, and of course there is no place for “God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ” in a one world religion. One thing is for sure, the omission of Christ’s name on an historic trip by the Pope this big is “too stupid to be stupid.”

The other big visitor is the Chinese President Xi Jinping. Please note his first stop was not Washington, D.C., but Washington State. The Chinese President all but demanded the top tech Titans come for a meeting under the veiled threat of increased government scrutiny on companies doing business in China. He also inked a deal to buy 300 Boeing aircraft. In addition, he made the point that China was also a victim of hacking. Hacking has been a thorny issue with the Obama Administration. One of the big hack attacks blamed Chinese hackers for stealing data on more than 20 million federal employees. Obama has threatened sanctions, which I am sure is why the Chinese President made a big public announcement about buying Boeing aircraft. Another very weird thing that happened this week is the reported widespread outages from companies such as Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Skype and Yahoo. All these companies have huge redundant systems, and for all of them to have widespread global outages while the President of China is in the U.S. seems a little weird and more than just a coincidence.

Russia is ramping up its presences in Syria and now says it will go on the attack against ISIS with or without the help of the Obama Administration. The Russians will enlist the help of the Iranians and Hezbollah. There is also talk of the Chinese coming in on the side of Russia in eradicating ISIS. I do not know how much help the Chinese will give in this effort, but the U.S. effort is a total disaster, and it is so bad I wonder if it was not designed to fail in the first place. There is not much the Obama Administration can say with a policy against ISIS. The U.S. appropriated $500 million to train so-called moderate rebels, and so far, it has trained five, yes five, as in the number right after four. Checkmate for Putin with his move against ISIS while Obama continues to look like a disheveled amateur in terms of foreign policy.

Hillary Clinton’s email troubles have been kicked into critical condition with the announcement that the FBI has recovered more than 30,000 emails from the server that was supposedly wiped clean. It is very hard to believe her story that those more than 30,000 emails she had on her private server while Secretary of State are only about things such as yoga and Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, as she claims. I can’t tell you how many possible felonies surround the evidence on this server. Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation, classified documents, and possible hacking by foreign governments are the foundation of just a few of the possible criminal charges that could come up and these emails are revealed. I have said it before months ago, and I will say it again, Hillary Clinton will not be President let alone the Democratic nominee.

    WNW 2019 Passing Observations:
    * Politician Pope – This is not a spiritual man. He is a blatant Communist.
    * China Visit – China is a scary thug and the Obama Administration is grossly incompetent and is being totally played to the detriment of our nation. No surprise here.
*Russia in Syria – Make no bones about it, Putin is not going to tolerate the rising Islamic Caliphate. He will kick us to the curb and ruthlessly destroy ISIS. We haven’t seen anything yet.
    * Hillary’s Email Update – This clearly defines the absolute corruption in American politics. This women is a blatant criminal and she is still running for POTUS?
Sorry kids, we do now live in a 3rd world banana republic.
I will conclude that this nation is proverbially gunshot to the head and William Pollock’s advise in your last interview should be taken very seriously right now.
    Great wrap up as usual.

I think history would remember Joe Biden as a good president. 15-16. Impeach Obama for overstepping of rights while directing military strikes against Libya, Syria.

    Light must copy evil.
    Evil Plans. Light must Plan.
    Evil hides. Light must disclose.

My rough plan for saving this country is to have Trump take down the republican party. People need to call Nadar and tell him to run. The people need to understand that this is an election between Sanders and Nadar. No 1912 shenanigans. The people must know. Whoever wins the election must at some point legalize all naturally occurring drugs or potential drugs. By natural I mean plants and fungi. This only makes sense unless we want to continue a war against spaceship earth, which includes year over year deforestation. Hello global warming crowd. The national security reason for this action is because the illicit drug trade is a huge source of potentially dangerous cash supply. 9/11 Dangerous. It’s too risky, this cash supply must stop. Instead of a debt jubilee, there will be an amnesty. The federal government in the united states in America must begin to issue its own currency, debt free.

We’re going to do 1912 over again, with a twist. American Century.

Compared to the Bush/Clinton regime, it might be nice to have a guy like Putin rule the free world. Looks like banks win again, right?

    • Wayne

Putin’s motive in Syria is about controlling the Iran-Iraq-Syria natural gas pipeline which is a direct competitor to Russia supplying gas to Europe. They want control of the valve. No one talks about this aspect of the conflict.

      • Benjamin F

If public corporations in Russia own this, can Americans not invest and own those corporations? Is there a dispute over tax revenue? A dispute over who builds the pipelines? Is it fear of reliable oil/gas supply?

  3. Linda louin

    Hi Greg:
That 500 million to train 5 moderate rebels in Syria most likely was filtered to ISIS. Our Administration (who originally armed/created ISIS) doesn’t want to stop ISIS, especially when they can be used to destroy Syria’s President, thus gaining control of all the fuel lines that pass through Syria. These fuel lines are extremely valuable in the coming New World Order. However, I don’t think that Putin is going to roll over and let this all occur without a fight, due to his own strategic interests in the area and I can’t blame him for this. I’m expecting fireworks soon. God help us all.

    • CrazyCanuck

I agree Linda. The only problem is that Putin has to be very careful embarrassing the world’s bully. This is not the first time he thwarted Obama, neocons & the corporates in Syria and is still paying a huge price for such insolence ( sanctions, Ukraine, demonization etc.) .

  4. Ivan Norris

An alternative view on your Biblical exposition from Matthew 16:18: Christ did not refer to Peter at all as being the foundation of the Church, but rather THE FAITH that Jesus is the Christ (the very thing that Peter had just confessed).

The Pope is not the Rock upon which the Church is built…but rather the faith that Jesus is the Christ.

    • Gord Carpenter

That’s my understanding. There is an argument – by theolgians – over “petros” and “petra”; one meaning stone and the other a rock. It is believed that Peter was the stone – according to Jesus – and Jesus considered himself the rock as he spoke this verse to His disciples. I think this is how the theologians explain it.

    • Chris

Salvation is by faith alone. The pope wants you to trust in the Roman Catholic Church instead of Jesus Christ. Claims of succession are foolishness. The pope does nothing that would even remotely be related to Peter the apostle. Read Peter’s epistles – the message of the pope and Peter are 180 degrees apart.

      • Charles H

Folks – “upon the rock” signifies Simon Peter’s answer of Christ’s question of ‘Who am I?’ – which was: “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”. The Heavenly Father revealed it, and Jesus Christ confirmed it. The ‘rock’ the Church is built upon is that confession of truth of the identity of Jesus of Nazareth being God in the flesh; Immanuel, God with us; a confirmation of His DIVINITY.
Simon Peter was NO type or fore-runner of a pope: this is false and pernicious tradition. The true, spiritual church is built upon the knowledge of God and His divinity; as revealed by divine inspiration and embodied in God’s Word, the Holy Bible.

      • JMiller

You are correct Chris. Salvation is by faith alone, which something the Catholic Church does not believe.

      • art barnes

Correct, the Pope and their church have usurped the treasure of the Scripture, aka, J. Christ’s message. How dare they call him the holy father, are kidding me? The Pope is the Holy Father, then who in the hell is Jesus Christ, a lesser person, below the Pope? How arrogant, narcissist, full of pomp and circumstance, dog and pony show, false prophet, damned to hell is this theology? Give it a rest, rational thinking Scripture reading, Jesus Christ accepting Christians are not buying it, and you at the Vatican should not be selling it. Of course, we all know the present Pope if not this one will line itself with the Antichrist, you can’t deny it, you stole His Church and there will be hell to pay for doing just that.

        • Greg Hunter

          Art,
Check this out: http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=35894 Christ is a “failure” according to the Pope.
          Greg

          • brian

He said Christ (and the cross) was a failure in terms of how the world measures success Greg. The pope is ESL, or does not even speak English at all, you have to take that into account when considering his invocation of the qualifier “humanly speaking”.

Besides that source you site looks kinda out on a limb…just saying.

Oh yeah, and don’t get talked into waiting for a God that already resides in your heart…that was the message of Christ, that’s why they killed Him.

    • Gene

      Dear Ivan Norris,
You have provided an idiosyncratic interpretation of Matthew 16:18 that contradicts its literal meaning. In its Koine Greek, transliterated form, this passage reads, “kagw de soi legw oti su ei Petros, kai epi tauthi thi petrai oikodomhsw mou thn ekklhsian … .” (No doubt, you can appreciate that certain adjustments must be made in the coding of the Greek to accommodate the limitations of an English-language web site; for example, pitch marks are omitted and iota subscripts are instead expressed as free-standing iotas.)
Bear in mind that, based on Matthew 16:13, the statement in Matthew 16:18 obviously was made by Christ Himself. And when this statement is properly translated it reads, “And I (kagw) say (legw) to you (soi) that (oti) you (su) are (ei) Peter (Petros), and upon this rock (epi tauthi thi petrai) I will build (oikodomhsw) my Church (mou thn ekklhsian).”
When this statement by Jesus Christ, God Himself, is properly interpreted, therefore, we know by Divine authority that Peter, and his successors, the popes, are the rock upon which Christ has built his Church, our Holy Catholic Church.
By the way, there is an amusing comment by someone else who replied to you, “There is an argument … over “petros” and “petra”; one meaning stone and the other a rock … .” Obviously, “petrai” is the dative singular form of “petra”, meaning “rock”. Matthew, or his scribe, as the case may be, simply used a masculine ending, “os”, in “Petros”, since Christ was referring to Simon Peter. Otherwise, the statement is translated, “… you are ‘Stone’ and upon this rock (etc.),” which is merely nonsense.
Perhaps you can explain something to me: Why do so many strain to ignore the authority explicitly granted by Christ to St. Peter, and to Pope Francis, His lawful successor?

      • Greg Hunter

Thank you Gene for this Bible lesson. Very insightful and backs up my main point the the Pope should be Christ-like and envoke his name and teaching often to bring people to Christ and his Salvation.
        Greg

        • Mark

Many Greek scholar would disagree with who “this rock” is referring to. The Greek is two separate words here. Anyone can and should look the words up in a lexicon like DBAG. One word does mean stone (ie Peter) and the other does mean slab of stone. Now who or what is Christ referring to with “this rock” is a whole separate debate. Also this verse does not talk about Peter successors, only Peter. Lets just get the facts straight. Thanks Greg for pressing people to focus on Jesus Christ!

          • Gene

            Dear Mark,

By all means, let’s get the facts straight!

You say the, “Greek is two separate words here,” without explicitly identifying them. Then you assert that one of the words means “stone” and the other “slab of stone”. But you do not state which of the two unidentified words would supposedly correspond to each. This fails to “get” any of the “facts” concerning the issue at hand “straight” in any meaningful way.

So, I will explain the facts. A first relevant word is (transliterated) “Petros”. This is a proper name, and scholars tell us there is no evidence that Petros was ever used as a proper name before Jesus renamed Simon as Petros.

Now, “petros”, the common noun, is another. It has been used to denominate a stone thrown by a warrior, or else a boulder. See Liddell & Scott.

The term “petra”, which actually appears in Matthew 16:18 in its dative singular form, is another common noun and has various meanings. These include “rock” and “boulder”, and it also serves as a symbol of firmness. Again, refer to Liddell and Scott.

With this as background, we can understand what Christ meant by “this rock”. When Christ renamed Simon as Peter, He clearly did not intend to characterize him as a stone to be hurled by a warrior or as a boulder that merely lay by the side of the road. No, He was referring to Peter as the one who, in his firmness, just as a stone or rock is firm, would serve as the foundation of His Church.

Yet some who claim to serve as exegetes assert that the gender difference between “petros” and “petra” compels the conclusion that Jesus could not have meant Peter when He used the expression “upon this rock”. In the words of Christ Himself, “You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!” (Matthew 23:24).

Then you assert, “Also this verse does not talk about Peter successors, only Peter.” Given that it is abundantly clear God Himself appointed Peter as the foundation of His Church and that He knew from all eternity that Peter would die a martyr, do you really believe that Christ did not intend another to succeed Peter as the visible head of His Church?

The authority of the apostles to elect successors is apparent from the election of Matthias to succeed Judas, as reported in Acts 1:15-26. Here, Peter, as head of the Church directed that the election take place. The authority of the apostles to elect their successors, including Peter’s successor, is beyond question.

And so I repeat my question already posed to “Ivan Norris”: Why do so many strain to ignore the authority explicitly granted by Christ to St. Peter, and to Pope Francis, His lawful successor?

            • Charles H

              Gene,

Matthias was “numbered with the eleven apostles”. Acts 1:26 The idea of being “numbered” is miles different than being “called” an apostle. The very definition of an apostle is one who is personally called by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Matthias doesn’t qualify under these terms; and this suggests that his selection is illegitimate. Judas by transgression fell from his bishoprick: but THAT election (NOT selection) came with the conversion of Saul, who is INFORMED of his commission by Jesus Christ PERSONALLY in the heavenly vision in Acts 9:6, and confirmed through Ananias in verse15 & 16. This DOES fulfill the requirements of being an apostle. And in verse 17 & 18 – Saul receives the Holy Ghost: something Matthias is never credited with.
If anything – the jumping-the-gun of Peter to fill a position is an unqualified failure of leadership and had no sanction or approval of God in scripture to back it up. It signals a complete lack of spiritual discernment. Scripture is completely silent concerning Matthias after his selection; and Saul goes on to perform more ministry and write more books in the New Testament than anyone else. Saul, or Paul, was an apostle ‘born out of due time’ – not chosen in Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry: but he WAS personally chosen from heaven. Your assertion of “the authority of the apostles to elect successors” falls flat on it’s face in the example you cite.

              • aussie jeff

          To Gene, I’m speaking.

  5. DLC (formerly Donna)

Gangbusters, Greg. Appreciate your thoughts and feelings about Catholicism. What we are seeing is nothing that Fr. Martin did not warn about. There is a schism in the Vatican and hopefully there will be open revolt and truth bombs flying as a result.

Fr. Martin was in the process of writing a novel that would blow the roof off the Vatican. As a Jesuit himself and a papal adviser with many inner circle sources besides, I believed what he tried to warn us about, and — now it is here.

I’m not trying to be contrarian in regard to Hillary. We have watched her and Bill for some decades now. “Laws are asses,” it seems, when it comes to them.

You know Bernie will not sell in the South. Remains to be seen if Biden can distance himself from Obama. It is interesting that the Dems could only dredge up 3 aging white folks for candidates. Some diverse party.

    • Gail

@DLC It is nice to see someone on this site (or pretty much any site nowadays) who understands the larger issue with the Catholic church. It is under siege and has been since WWII with a freemason/communist infiltration that is now well documented for anyone who takes the time to look. The pedophile crisis was the result the intentions of these factions to crumble the church from within. As Father Martin stated, among others, the church, being the body of Christ, will face a crucifixion. Anyone with eyes to see can observe how events are lining up to lead to this. I am so sorry, though, that Greg has turned away from the faith when he could be speaking truth to the state of affairs and its relationship to the whole of the world events. All Catholics have suffered since the scandal, but to turn away completely is like Peter denying Jesus in His last moments. Scorned, beaten and bloody, the church, like Christ himself, will live until the end of time, just as He said.

      • Linda louin

        GAIL:
I think that Greg made a wise decision when he left the Catholic Church (as I also did many years ago, where I saw the writing on the wall as a very young girl). MATTHEW 7:16 reads in part “by their fruits you will know them”. It is best to find counsel from the Holy Bible rather than following the example of the questionable leanings/direction of the Catholic Church. A few hundred years ago the Catholic Church murdered millions of people for having political and spiritual views that differed from this Church, and so one would think that they would have learned their lesson by keeping out of so out right blatantly mischievous political issues as the Pope is doing now. However because humans aren’t so bright, history just keeps repeating itself.

      • john duffy

Even one of the twelve apostles, Judas, betrayed Christ for 30 pieces of silver. There have been bad popes before, but the church has also had many saints too. There are multiple more sex crimes in the school system, should we shut down the schools? If you were a teacher Greg, would you quit? You should stay and help clean up the mess.

        • Greg Hunter

          John,
You say, “multiple more sex crimes in the school system, should we shut down the schools?” No I would prosecute the felon perpetrators and prosecute the management that covered up the crime for years under the RICO Act.
          Greg

      • Maggie

We are most likely dealing with an antipope. We survived the Borgias, we will survive the Modernist heresy.

      • Gene

        Dear Gail,

You are undoubtedly correct in reporting the communist infiltration of our Holy Catholic Church. Here, I refer to the testimony of Bella Dodd, formerly a high official of the American Communist Party, and subsequent Catholic convert. She testified that over a thousand men were directed by the Party to join the priesthood in the hope of destroying the Church from within.

But we know that even this has not destroyed the Church. We also know that our Church will never be destroyed, since that is what Christ promised to us. Other nominally “Christian” assemblies will pass out of existence, but our Holy Catholic Church will continue to the end of time!

      • R.

Gail, read Roses book of martyrs, The roman state church condenmded people to death for even owning a bible for over 4 centuries. He , the entity has not never
preached the true gospel. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Even a child can get it.
Why, can’t you. He’s at the door.

        • R.

          THE POE, THAT IS.

      • Deanna Johnston Clark

I disagree that the Catholic Church is ruined since WWII.
I love Mary and always wore a little medal. As a hostess at the 8th Air Force museum a Dutchman gave me a ride home once. He had been in the Dutch resistance during the war as a teenager. He told me, “I wouldn’t wear that medal out because some of our visitors from Europe might give you a real talk.”
So, being a dumb American I did some serious reading…not the stuff Catholics are fed, but real history.
The pedophile scandal and other things can be passed over Because they were not actual POLICY. They were rogue people, sinners. But pictures of Pius XII with some of the vilest people in the war…smiling at the camera…cannot be dismissed so cleverly.
I will always love Mary…but she is not the franchise of Rome.
The word “church” referring to Peter is a stretch of the actual word, “community”….people were burned at the stake for correcting those words. I think it’s time all Christians clean themselves up before they cuss communists and others. If we were better Christians among ourselves the world might like our Lord more.

    • Wayne

Mt 16:18 is pretty clear here. Peter, or “Petros” in the Greek meaning “rock” IS the Jesus built the church.

      • Chris

Never hang a doctrine on a single verse attempting to shape it’s meaning.
The message is the entire context and if read that way it is clear that Jesus was not referring to building His church upon Peter. Interpretations of scripture has rules just like science. Language is to be understood in context as the writer intended. Not twisted around to fit suit our agenda.

        • aussie jeff

          Well said Chris,

          1 corinthians 3:11
.. That foundation is Jesus Christ. … After all, no one can lay any other foundation than
the one that is already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ. …

          ephesians 2:20
.. built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, …
The foundation of our faith is Jesus Christ, the symbolic temple in heaven has many parts to it,the apostles and other prophets being “foundation members” but Christ is our cornerstone.
To imply anything else is doctrine of men, and not of God, the so called papal lineage dating back to Peter is nothing more than religious cronyism born of the devil, which has kept the masses spiritually bound and gagged unable to see the “true light of God’s word,” teachings such as purgatory, limbo, baby baptism etc are not taught in God’s word, but false religious tradition has kept such doctrines alive down through the centuries.

Pope worship is alive and well, no mention of Christ as Greg said, my take on it, mentioning Christ would be taking the limelight away from the Pope.

        • JMiller

I agree again with you Chris. There are too many doctrines that are based on one or two debatable verses such as women wearing head coverings and the washing of the saints feet that churches teach.

      • mark

        Hi Wayne,
I would like to take this occasion to quote from The Complete Biblical Library regarding Matt 18:16 ” Jesus went on to use Peter’s great confession as an occasion to reveal a mystery hidden even from the Old Testament prophets. The Church (“assembly”) was in God’s plan and in His eternal purpose from the beginning (Eph.3:9-11). But it could not be revealed until Jesus was recognized as its divine Head (Eph. 1:22, Col.1:15-18). Jesus began by pointing out that Peter’s confession made him truly Peter, a piece of rock or stone (petros). Then Jesus added, “Upon this rock (this great, solid rock, petra) I will build my church.” Some suggest that Peter is the rock, claiming that the Aramaic form of the name (Cephas) does not show the same gender distinction found in Greek, but the Aramaic does have another word for a great, solid rock, so Jesus must have made the same distinction the Greek does. Thus it is better to take it that the rock upon which Christ builds His church is either Peter’s great confession or, even better, it is Christ Himself (1 Peter 2:6-8). It was Peter’s great confession which made him a rock. Jesus did not single him out for a special position here. He merely used him as an example of what can happen to everyone who makes the same confession (Rom. 10:9-10). Christ alone is the solid Rock. He alone is the foundation of the Church. (See 1 Cor. 3:11; 10:4.) In the latter verse petra (“the great, solid Rock”) is used of Christ. Peter himself declared that Jesus is the Living Stone (1 Peter 2:4). Coming to Jesus, all believers become living stones and are built into a spiritual house (temple), the Church, the assembly of all who have joined Peter in his great confession. The fact that Jesus is the Living Rock gives assurance that “the gates of hell” (hades), that is, the power of Satan and of death itself, will never prevail against His church. (see Rev. 6:8; 9:5ff; 20:7;ff).”

        Well said, Wayne.
Christ could not have been more clear. Peter is the “rock” on which our Holy Catholic Church, the Church founded by Christ himself, has been built, and has endured for almost 2000 years.

Some like to wave their arms and shout overwrought objections that Christ’s clear message was only a single verse, and must be seen in context. Very well, in Matthew 7:24,25, Jesus said, “”Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”

So, we Catholics build our house of faith on our Church, and watch as other assemblies professing Christianity succumb to the world. No matter the tribulation, we know from Christ Himself that, “the powers of death shall not prevail against,” our Church because it is led by the successor of Peter.

        • Charles H

          Gene,

Jesus Christ couldn’t have been more clear – but people STILL don’t understand.
It isn’t just the one verse: it is the context, construction and flow of verses 13 through 18. The construction introduces elements, which form parallels, and repeat in order.
Verse 13 – introduces the theme or issue – Who is the Son of man.
Verse 15 – returns to the issue a second time – for specific clarification or focus, or amplification to be added.
Verse 16 – contains TWO ELEMENTS
          Simon Peter identified
The inspired confession: “Thou art the Christ, the Son of
          the living God.”
Verse 17 – addresses these two elements and IN ORDER
          Simon Peter blessed
The explanation of divine revelation that inspired the
          confession
Verse 18 – contains TWO ELEMENTS
The first of which continues the Order of Mention of
Peter – where in honor of being the instrument of
Divine revelation to Christ’s divinity, receives a new
name (Petros) similar to when Jacob was renamed
          Israel
The second, which continues the line of parallel mention
is “this rock” (petra, or petrai) which the church will
be built upon and the gates of Hell will not prevail
against CAN ONLY BE THE DIVINELY REVEALED
          CONFESSION, which obeys parallel construction
          and order of mention

This is the only reasonable explanation of WHY there
are TWO different uses of the the word – rock: one to
designate a person (Petros); the other to designate the
          revelation (petra or petrai)
There can be no confusion by this obvious separation
of terms, as construction and context substantiate
them. Any other interpretation serves as proceeding to
a foregone conclusion, under cover of unclear linguistic
          possibilities.

  6. Bonnie Eppinett

Hi, Greg, Neither Francis, nor Benedict VI or John Paul II or Paul VI is going to mention Jesus Christ. Vatican II did away with that, but not really. The Catholic Church has always taught the reign of Christ the King (Viva Christo Rey!) These post conciliar popes have wanted to do away with this. They want separation of Church and state. This is not Catholic! Yes, I realize we live in a pluralistic country, but we must continue to work and pray for Our Lord’s reign over society and government. We must continue to keep the faith as it was handed down from the apostles and forget about the Novus Ordo sect formed at Vat. II. On the last day, Our Lord will not ask if you shook hands with the pope, but did you follow the faith. Greg, thanks so much for the great interviews!

    • Southern

Following you on Twitter an YouTube for a while now. Just wanted to say Thanks! The information you provide is priceless.

      Bonnie Eppinett,
Maybe you should have done your homework on St. John Paul II. Here are just three sites I found that he mentions Jesus Christ with His Mother The Blessed Virgin Mother.
      https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/6473881.Pope_John_Paul_II
      http://w2.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/homilies/1997/documents/hf_jp-ii_hom_23111997.html

On Pope Benedict I guess you forgot that he wrote a book about Jesus Christ, “Jesus of Nazareth” http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/22/world/europe/vatican-pope-jesus-book/index.html.

Cannot say that I follow this present day Pope Francis. I don’t trust this Pope.

      • Bonnie Eppinett

Southern Girl, I think maybe you need to do your homework. These popes have presided over the destruction of the Catholic Church through MODERNISM. The many, many errors that they have done, said, and written (although not infallibly) have been the biggest scandal for Catholics-for example, going to synagogues and mosques to pray with Jews and Muslims, as if we are all one big happy family in the faith! These popes have not preached Jesus Christ to mankind, telling man where he may find salvation. All they did was preach Vatican II, the robber council.

        • Southern Girl

          Bonnie,
As a retired educator I always do my homework. So I BEG TO DIFFER.
You never answered my comments accept to try and shoot down my explanation. What about Jesus Christ do you not understand? Your own words, “These popes have not preached Jesus Christ to mankind, telling man where he may find salvation”. Hello!!!!!!!!!! What did you not read that I sent you ….their own words about Jesus Christ.

St. Pope John Paul and Pope Emeritus Benedict 15th wrote and spoke about Jesus Christ as I provided the proof. You are to evasive and not answering your own question. I provided proof so where is yours??????????????? You act as if your have proof of an apostasy but you offer no proof….figures. Always bellyaching and never providing the essential. Provide me with the proof as I have done for you.

Obviously your are a Catholic Hater.

          • Bonnie Eppinett

Southern Girl, It is precisely because I love my Catholic faith and must defend it, that I say these things. Please see: The Pope at the Mosque-A Scandal

Critical times hard to deal with will be here.—2 Tim. 3:1.

With the help of God the father Jehovah, Holy Spirit, and the Christian congregation, we can successfully overcome whatever disappointments or fears come our way. We can stay faithful. (2 Cor. 4:7-10) It is good to note that Paul introduced his prophecy about the last days with the expression “know this.” Those words guarantee that what follows is certain to occur. Ungodly society will continue to advance from bad to worse until Jesus steps in to end the nonsense. Historians have documented that here or there some society or nation experienced a steep moral decline and then collapsed. Never before in history, though, has the overall morality of the entire world deteriorated to the extent that it has now. Many people may ignore the implications, but this unique development since the first world war, [1914,] should clearly demonstrate to us that we can trust that God’s Kingdom will soon take decisive action before the third! Or no flesh would be saved. . . ◄ Matthew 24:22 ►

  9. Simon S.

Organised religion IS politics by other means, just like war.
I’m continually disappointed that many people with libertarian views and tendencies, who are all rightly against big government, still want to believe their lives are overseen and protected by another big power – the invisible, mythical guy in the sky.
Look people, we’re human beings, a remarkable product of evolution, but alone on a small blue-green planet orbiting an average star. The only things we have going for ourselves are our intelligence, and the scientific method, which is the only proven way of properly understanding the world.

    • VShook

      Hi Simon,
Just wanted to share the thought that we humans have, or been given, free choice and free will. Therefore, while God can direct and guide us in life, he doesn’t control everything. We are affected by our own choices and the choices of others.

    • sk

And when you (sort of- agnostically- or entirely -atheistically) accept that aloneness, you say ‘yes’ to a much bigger share of responsibility on YOUR own shoulders towards other humans and the rest of the world. Because nothing else and no one else will do it FOR you. Scary.

      • Occasnltrlvr

Honestly, I don’t understand your point of view. As a Christian, I, personally, am responsible to alleviate poverty, feed the poor, house the homeless, clothe the naked, care for the sick, and comfort the imprisoned.

If one clings to the religion of godlessness, then who, exactly, holds them responsible for the welfare of others?

        • sk

A human being’s self respect and empathy. Nothing beyond that. I remember reading a story once about a nun who worked long hours scrubbing the hospital hallway floors. A visitor told her, ‘sister Anneliese, don’t work so hard, rest a little’. Anneliese replied ‘heaven isn’t cheap, you know’. I guess I would like to see humans go beyond this stage.

    • Occasnltrlvr

      “Mythical guy.”

      Good luck with that.

  10. James Hastings

Good job. You are close to perfection…….focus strictly on Biblical truths and you will soon be a struggling failure like me. 🙂

Good job. Who designs your cartoons?

  11. Mr F

    Greg,
I watch every one of your videos almost. This pope thing is incredibly scary. Coming to the United States of America and lecturing our people about his left wing crap. It’s beyond disgusting. It makes me totally ill, and fearful.

There’s a chance that I’ll have the opportunity to get involved in the catholic church in some way. Specifically, education.

Do you have any advice for me Greg? I could really use it. This could be a really good opportunity for me. I respect you highly, and any advice you might have for me, I would be truly thankful.

Thank you for everything that you do. Sorry I must remain anonymous, but for some of us, this is really the only way we feel comfortable commenting. Even so, I hardly comment.

    • Greg Hunter

      Mr F,
Just talk about Christ and what he taught. You cannot go wrong.
      Greg

      • Mr F

        You are a smart guy.

        Thank you.

      • Gene

        Well said, Mr. Hunter!

I teach in the RCIA program of my local parish. In this program, we catechize those who wish to join our Holy Catholic Church, and we always talk about Christ and what he taught. We also catechize baptized Catholics who wish to learn more about the Church.

May God bless and protect you and your family!

        • Greg Hunter

          Thank you Gene.
          Greg

    • sk

Y’know what? Jesus lectured his contemporaries about ‘left wing crap’, like sharing food, clothing, and shelter with those in need. The current pope seems to me to ‘walk the walk’ a lot more than his critics.

      • sk

The above was for Mr. F

        • Terry

SK, Share your own food, clothing and shelter all you want. No one is stopping you or even remotely trying to hold you back. No one EVER has. It is when high minded liberal commies try to share MY stuff with “the downtrodden” in order to gain political favor with them that I get a little edgy. How much of your food, clothing and shelter have you actually shared SK? Jesus did preach charity. But not at the expense of the truth.

          • Terry

Jesus would have horsewhipped most of “the downtrodden” of today as irresponsible liars and thieves.

          • sk

True, I CAN share more. I don’t understand your ‘but not at the expense of truth’. Where did he lie???

      • Linda louin

        S..k:
I have to disagree with you. The current Pope, by direction of the Vatican is doing a lot of “talk the talk” in collaboration with the Western power players. Except for a few minor differences, the Popes dialog falls fairly close to Obama. One must ask why/what a spiritual leader was doing in Congress in the first place (it was simply a power play). The White House Staff even went as far the other day to say in a media statement, declaring how much alike that Obama and the Pope were. Obama is hell bent on destroying America’s borders, and the Pope seems to be parroting this view. The Pope TALKS a lot about caring for the poor. I’m sure that the Vatican has more gold/riches than Fort Knox and Britian combined. As it has been stated, if the Catholic Church is so concerned about the poor and “sharing the wealth”, why don’t they lead by example. Open up man and look at the big picture.

      • GM Mountain man

SK, “walk the walk” is when individuals GIVE, not when some man, Pope or otherwise implies that it is a responsibility of some government entity to steal from some in order to give (?) to others. Do a little research and learn how much property and other wealth is controlled by the Pope. Is he giving with that wealth, or just lecturing the rest of us with his “left wing crap?”

        • sk

LOL. Never got FOUR responses before! Money talks.

  12. andyb

Throughout history the Jesuits have always been the true rulers of the Church, certainly not for its benefit, as the Jesuits are fascists, they supported Hitler and Mussolini. No wonder that the current Pope is one and is regurgitating all of the NWO memes for totalitarian control.

The 2016 Presidential race is all smoke and mirrors; Trump is a distraction. No one of sound mind thinks that the elites will allow his nomination unless, of course, he is a plant to give “hope” to the masses. In the end, just another in a long line of puppets since JFK will be elected to serve our masters.

Greg: as a side note, Dane Wigington has received some MSM exposure in California in a fairly balanced article and more and more Californians are waking up to the real possibility that the drought is man-made through the genocidal policies of the psychos in power.

  13. RichM

They keep asking Donald Trump about the whole birther issue of Obama in which he does not want to talk about it any longer like he used to back in 2012. So, in a following speech Trump discussed how they keep asking him and then made a comment that actually in the 2008 DEM campaign, Hillary had brought up the Birther issue when she was running against Obama in the primary. His point being, she was publicly talking about it before he did in 2012.

So, one cable network reporter asked Hillary if she had brought up the birther issue back in 2008 according to what Trump said and she flat out denied it. The media went on with that (Calling Trump the liar) based solely on Hillary’s word. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie yet still much of the MSM will take her word as gospel. Its insane. This is why I do not fully agree with the fact that Hillary is un-electable. They protect her as much as they protect Obama and both are pathological liars…

Also, why is Biden taking so long to announce? Does he perhaps know something like, hmmm, maybe there will ultimately be no general election?

  14. Andrew de Berry (Rev)

Spot on Greg re Pope Francis – named not after Assissi but after Xavier the Jesuit. This pope is nothing but a cover-up for neo-con fascism. People must not be fooled by the façade, although sadly the doting multitudes lap up the image portrayed.

    • Reginald Denny

Andrew; How Did Jesus View Politics?

THE Gospel writers describe several events in Jesus’ ministry that brought him face-to-face with politics. For instance, shortly after Jesus’ baptism at about the age of 30, the Devil offered him the position of world ruler. Later in his ministry, a crowd wanted to make him their king. Still later, people tried to turn him into a political activist. How did Jesus react. . . .

World ruler. The Gospels state that the Devil offered Jesus rulership over “all the kingdoms of the world.” Think of how much good Jesus could have done for suffering mankind if he had wielded the power of a world ruler! What politically oriented individual sincerely concerned with mankind’s advancement could resist such an offer? But Jesus refused it.—Matthew 4:8-11.

King. Many of Jesus’ contemporaries were desperate for a ruler who could solve their economic and political problems. Impressed by Jesus’ abilities, the people wanted Jesus to join the political process. What was his reaction? Gospel writer John states: “Jesus, knowing they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone.” (John 6:10-15) Clearly, Jesus refused to become involved.

      • Reginald Denny

        Jesus As Political Activist?

Andrew, also please note what happened days before Jesus was put to death. Disciples of the Pharisees, who favored independence from the Roman Empire, joined by Herodians, members of a political party favoring Rome, approached Jesus. They wanted to force him to take a political position. They asked if the Jews should pay taxes to Rome.

Mark recorded Jesus’ response: “‘Why do you put me to the test? Bring me a denarius to look at.’ They brought one. And he said to them: ‘Whose image and inscription is this?’ They said to him: ‘Caesar’s.’ Jesus then said: ‘Pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God.’” (Mark 12:13-17) Commenting on the reason for Jesus’ response, the book Church and State—The Story of Two Kingdoms concludes: “He refused to act the part of a political messiah and carefully established both the boundary of Caesar and that of God.”

But problems such as poverty, corruption, and injustice did not leave Christ unmoved. In fact, the Bible shows that he was deeply touched by the pitiful state of the people around him. (Mark 6:33, 34) Still, Jesus did not start a campaign to rid the world of injustices, although some tried hard to get him embroiled in the controversial issues of the day.

Clearly, Jesus refused to get involved in the political affairs.

  15. frederick

Great commentary on the Catholic church Greg They are nothing but hypocrites in my opinion with all that wealth and covering up such a horrendous thing as pedofilia within their own ranks. My father used to say this in the 60s about how the church would hold a mass in honor of our neighbor who was involved with the mob because he was a lincoln Mercury dealer and would donate a few town cars to the church so that the priests would be able to tool around town in luxury. Total hypocrisy and you did the right thing by getting out of dodge. All the best and god bless frederick

    • Greg Hunter

      Fredrick,
Thank you for your comment but I do want to say once again I totally agree with the 5 pillars of the Catholic doctrine that I enumerated in the post. I also think Catholics are good people, (this includes the majority of the priest who were not involved in the pedophile scandal) but upper management, including this Pope is where my big problem lies.
      Greg

      • art barnes

I agree Catholics are good people for the very most part, the structure of their church is another thing. The arrogance of believing that a Pope is a descendant of Peter even in spirit is such a fallacy, designed to take the the Church and good Christians to apostasy. Thank God (meaning Jesus for your Vatican types) we are not all deceived by the false prophet’s doctrines. The Antichrist will not know a Pope he didn’t love, especially the last one, so go ahead and learn how to bow now as your going to need it to know how to do it.

    • Sayonara

I grew up in San Francisco in the early – mid 1970s. San Francisco had a strong liberal Catholic following. The one thing that us young boys at the time knew, was not to be in the presence of a Catholic priest alone. It was just simple street sense and situational awareness. My younger brother was kicked out of a prominent Catholic high school because he accused a priest of being a pedophile. Many of our parents and elders at the time would not believe that this was happening. It was well known and there are a number of cases that arose in San Francisco that corroborate the accusation. Unfortunately, those in a position of power, take advantage of the weak. You can’t make this stuff up.
The current Pope is a Marxist and he is trying to take advantage of the weak rather than help them.

      But tolerating pedophilia

    • Occasnltrlvr

Typically, Masses are said for “intentions,” i.e., for someone’s betterment in some way, not in someone’s honor. After all, they that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

  16. Mary's Little Lamb

    Greg,
You say you are a former Catholic. Why – Because of a bunch of buffoons within the church? Even if most or all of the people “in the church” are corrupt, that does not change one fact: The One True Church, The One True Faith is Perfect. There are evildoers within the church, and the church has been infiltrated by outsiders (Masons) who wish to destroy the church, but should that be a reason for you to jump overboard?
The sex scandal within the church was orchestrated by these evildoers and infiltrators to do just that – to further destroy the One True Church and to make its members become disillusioned with the church and to jump overboard (leave the church). We must love our faith, and defend it, against all enemies.
This is a different (but very related) topic – to anyone who has any doubt that 9-11 was not an “inside job,” done by enemies within, and secretly planned and foreknown by a select few – watch this video – it will totally amaze you and leave you speechless!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=5&v=pFM02ItYKbY
Note: This video is 15 min. long. It is about the movie “Back to the Future,” starring Michael J. Fox. This movie was made in 1986, but it is clear after watching this video that there were high people in high places that very much knew 9-11 was going to happen, long before it ever did. Muslim terrorists??? Oh, hell no (they don’t make Hollywood movies)! There are 9-11 references all throughout the movie. It is as clear as day; you just need to know what to look for (or to look “upside down”).
Please watch this video when you have time Greg. Also, thank you for what you do. I agree, this pope appears to be a false prophet.

    • PuddlePirate

“We must love our faith, AND DEFEND IT, AGAINST ALL ENEMIES.”

So very true. ALL ENEMIES. But especially those from within. We have an obligation to resist the pope and bishops when they spew nonsense. When they are teaching “in the same sense and the same meaning” (Vatican Council, Dogmatic Constitution on the Catholic Faith, Denzinger 1781, April 24, 1870) as the Deposit of Faith handed down from Our Lord to the Apostles and preserved uncorrupt by the Church, we must listen and follow. To the extent that they do not, we must resist. These men are not the Faith, nor are they the Church. They are fallible human beings, sinful creatures as are we all, and prone to error. We have to pray for them that they will return to the Faith as handed down from Our Lord. St Pope Pius X warned of the current modernist threat to the Church in the encyclical Pascendi (Dz 2071, Sept 8, 1907) and enumerated their errors in the Decree of the Holy Office, Lamentabili (Dz 2001, July 3, 1907). Reading and understanding these documents is a great help toward being able to see and understand the current errors and those of the past 50 years of Vatican II and the post conciliar popes and bishops. As Christians we know we will suffer for Our Lord’s sake, but it’s a but much to grasp when it’s the men within the Church causing the Faithful to suffer humiliation. Please pray for the pope, the bishops, priests, and religious. Deo gratias.

When I here discussion about Popes, my mind always goes back to 2005 when Pope John Paul II died. I was on a plane travelling to Europe and I was surprised how many Jews were on the plane. I got talking to one who told me he was going to the Popes funeral. I expressed a little surprise and he then told a story about how Pope John Paul 2nd had not only helped many Jewsih people escape during the war, but after the war had insisted that Jewish orphans should be brought up by Jewish families rather than be forced into Catholicism. Pope John Paul 2nd also held open air masses in front of Nazis in Kraków in Poland and his life was at risk every day. I think he passed the test of a true Christian.

Greg, thank you so very much for pointing that true Christianity is all about Christ, and those of us who call ourselves Christian will always point our words and our lives to Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? ” You pointed our a lot of thorns and thistles coming from Pope Francis, but was there any grapes or figs at all? I wish all Christians would check out USA Watchdog every day. Thanks Again

The Lord raises up rulers & takes rulers down. O. & the Pope are raised up specifically for this time; it’s no coincidence. 56 million babies offered up, people far from God and living like animals, etc., and hubris is rampant throughout our government and the world, so it’s no wonder. It’s hard to imagine that the first act of President Washington and Congress was to gather at St. Paul’s Chapel and dedicate this new nation to the Lord. That it happens to be on the same land where the Twin Towers stood; do you reckon that could be a sign? Great report–Right on. Fiddlin

  21. Jerry

    Greg,
There is something very sinister about the Pope speaking to the United Nations just prior to the Blood Moon on the 28th. Please note the following.
    https://youtu.be/OO9g2-LRajI

I have posted here multiple times about the G20 meeting coming up on the 15th of November. It was exactly one year ago to that date that the G20 passed a ruling stating that money in a Bank Account was no longer money. It should be abundantly clear by now that the G20 runs the United Nations as well as the World Bank.

The letter that was sent to the G20 by the Financial Security Board in February in advance of their meeting in November was titled ” Post Crisis Agenda Moving Forward”. It doesn’t take a First Grader to understand what ” Post Crisis” means.

As we listen to the Pope talk about global unity for all mankind, and the perpetual dialogue of caring for our neighbors, we might ask ourselves what that really means in relation to the United Nations, and the G20 agenda for a one World Banking System.

‘Blood moons’ occur strictly according to astronomic laws, no sinister magic involved, unless you’re superstitious. Are you? I doubt Pope Francis pays any attention to such nonsense. It’s droll, in a way – the medieval church did some bad stuff, because it took superstition seriously – while Galileo and Bruno argued against it. Now secular people are superstitious, while the church goes about its business despite..horrors! A BLOOD MOON!!!

      • Jerry

        SK
I guess we’ll find out won’t we. You may think blood moons are nonsense, but I know from my contacts that the globalist take them seriously. I’ll tell what real nonsense is.
        – people who still believe that there are free elections.
        – people who still believe free markets exist.
        – people who still believe real markets exist outside the influence of the Federal Reserve and the Banking Cabal.
        – people who believe that owning a printing press is a real economy.

        • sk

I don’t see how disbelief in the sinister, magical nature, of ‘blood moons’ equates to belief that markets and elections are free or that the Fed/cabal are disinterested, benevolent organizations/people. I’m with you in doubting those.

      • Occasnltrlvr

Perhaps Pope Francis doesn’t pay attention to blood moons, but the Holy See is plainly involved in observing astronomical phenomena:
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican_Advanced_Technology_Telescope

What you consider superstition, others consider mileposts. The Creator set the date of that (and every) astronomical event, and the times weren’t chosen randomly.

        • sk

Astronomy is one thing, believing that a ‘blood moon’ causes bad events for humans is another. More likely, superstitious people will act in fear in such a manner as to bring bad things upon themselves, or cynical people will time their actions to synchronize with a ‘blood moon’ to keep the superstitious people in thrall.

This is reality. The G20 controls the world banking system and the United Nations. Here is the Readers Digest Version of what happened a year ago just in case you missed it.
      http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2014-11-13/cash-under-mattress-may-be-better-than-g-20-bank-opening-line

I can’t make this anymore clear. The globalist in the G20 are preparing to restructure the global banking system sometime before their meeting in November. According to my sources the IMF has caved in to the BRIC nations threat to leave, and will give all of the countries who have (R currencies Rubble, Rupee etc.) SDR drawing rights along with the Yuan in their meeting in October. I can’t confirm this, but it does make sense since Deutsche Bank (their largest financial contributor ) is in trouble. I don’t have to tell you what that means for the dollar.

Greg, from the Vatican will come the false prophet, who will stand side by side and give support to the anti-christ. Failure to mention Jesus Christ by the Pope is telling on the Catholic current direction of faith. Also, this Pope seems to be leading and leaning further as a “political personality” figurehead than the past ones; this too is telling as to the direction of the Vatican is taking its church. Frankly, I believe this is all about the end times. I stand with my God, the God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob, I am, aka Jesus Christ on earth; not sure what God the Pope was actually referring to in all his love messages. Lastly, ISIS is going to be toast soon as Russia will take care of that menace all the while they make deep inroads into the middle east. Our Muslim President should be outraged I know our allies will be.

  23. Ann Tankersley

Thank you, Greg, for your comments about the Pope’s visit. I keep waiting for him to mention Jesus…still waiting. I thought the purpose of the Church was to spread the Gospel message – that our Savior, Jesus Christ, died for us and gives us hope of eternal life with Him in heaven. And yet, not one word from Francis about the suffering saints in the middle east who need our help and prayers daily. He is scolding the wrong people.

    • Greg Hunter

      Yes Ann,
He has taken on a left wing political agenda and telling the US to basically have open borders and tax everyone with the phony man made Global warming oh I mean climate change lie so they can have even more control over the world. Where’s he teaching about Christ, Lord and savior????? Thank you for your comment.
      Greg

      • Deanna Johnston Clark

Yes…it’s not about loving Mexicans or Muslims. If they are fooled, they may be shocked. They are pawns in the power grab.
The image of the Great White Brahmin loving the little brown people has been done to death already.
I gave up Mother Teresa worship when I realized all those poor people were just clients…all the pictures were about her and only her. There were truly marvelous charities all over India, such as Ghandi’s Samitis, and many local Christians. But the money all went to Mother Teresa. One lady, a French Catholic who worked with a Samiti, wrote me, “Tell people to STOP sending money to the Missionaries of Charity…please…we don’t know where it’s all going and all the other efforts are hurting.”
As Christians we are given brains as well as hearts. There are even a few Catholic groups non allied to USAid…they have little cinder block offices and ride bikes. The don’t do abortion referrals. They don’t drive conspicuously in big SUVs. Please check, don’t be a rube.

  24. brian

Yeah, whats going on with the catholic church is indicative of what is going on with many institutions lately. You got a bunch of degenerate fucks parading around doing God only knows what while they remain veiled in some irreproachable position deeply ensconced within the fabric of the very institutions they are polluting. Its time to yank these assholes out of their seats, identify these mutts and mongrels and shitheads for what they are and treat them accordingly. Otherwise we will lose everything that is good and be forced to live in a world run totally amok.

Greg, I look forward to your work every week. You absolutely nailed the issues around the Pope. I was just talking to my brother about the pope’s visit and you just hit it out of the park, so refreshing. Thank you for getting to the truth.

I fully see how the socialist leftists were able to manipulate the U.S. political system and got Obama elected. There were big bucks spent on Obama. But for the life of me, I don’t understand how they got one of their own anointed as Pope. Follow the money I guess.

You are right about the pope. He never mentioned Jesus Christ in any of his addresses!

    Angelo

      Angelo,
Not one and this is his “historic” visit to the US and where he nis addressing Congress and the UN. No mention of Christ??? As Jim Sinclair says “That’s too stupid to be stupid.”

Have just listened to the Warren Pollock discussion.
    His analysis seems well reasoned.
Totally agree with his suggestions to “batten down the hatches”; and his tenet of our being “milked” by the government.
Gold only, however, fails to consider the more flexible tradability of silver when conditions most likely deteriorate.
Greg, thank you for your splendid work.

The Elites long ago planned the destruction of America. Fake government, fake Congress ,fake Fed Reserve. Like hedge fund manager from Texas Kyle Bass stated after a conversation with a high level Obango official about GDP debt ratio the official stated “were going to kill the dollar”.

  33. Cathy

    GREAT, as usual!!!

  34. J Henry

As the other poster mentioned regards the Pope…

Jesus is the Rock (men will ALWAYS let you down) of, which he referred in Mat 17:18. It is inconceivable that He could’ve been referring to Peter as “the rock” when only 5 lines later, in Mat 17:23 he castigated Peter saying “get behind Me Satan”.

This Pope also stated on his trip that our God and the Hindu god and the Muslim god were all the same deity (I paraphrase). I think it pretty apparent that they are NOT the same.

  35. Diane D

Is there a greater modern day Pharisee than the Pope? America’s 501(c)3 pastors are as complicit in supporting evil by their silence as those in 1938 Nazi Germany. Any Christian doubting that needs to read ‘Hitler’s Cross’.

    • eddiemd

State controlled churches. You hit it.

  36. paul

As Greg says … Christ didn’t have “a nickel” … but the Pope running Jesus’s church use to collect a lot of nickels … making them just like bankers … and like bankers who don’t go to jail … priests who “do wrong” don’t go to jail … years ago we Christians use to put “a nickel” in the collection plate on Sunday to support Christ’s Church… now the Pope’s Church “just like a banker” only wants “silent collections” (paper money) … so we do as Christ said “and we give unto Rome that which Rome wants” … and keep the “nickels” for ourselves .

Now consider this … the Fed created $18 trillion dollars in paper debt we Americans now owe … yet only 65 billion Jefferson nickels were ever produced (from 1938 to the present) … this means for every Jefferson nickel coin in existence … $250 paper dollars in “paper debt” has been created by the Fed … so when confidence is eventually lost in “paper” … and people want something “tangible” like metal instead … divide 65 billion nickels into 18 trillion paper dollars … and we find those “tangible nickels in our pocket” are worth about $250 fiat paper dollars each … therefore during any “re-set” to come there is really “no need” to produce a “new currency” that will instill “confidence” … the lowly “little nickel” will provide that function perfectly well … so it may be wise to hold on to every “tangible metal nickel” you can get your hands on … while the Church “mistakenly” collects the “silent paper dollar” (that is 250 times less valuable).

Now with the bankers pricing silver at about $15 paper dollars right now (300 nickels per ounce) … in fiat paper dollar terms (300 nickels times $250 fiat dollars per nickel) means an ounce of silver is worth $75,000 in Fed produced fiat paper dollars and at a gold /silver ratio of 25 makes an ounce of gold worth $1,875,000 fiat paper dollars (37.5 times more then Jim Sinclair and John Williams currently calculate) and this is all before the Fed officially rolls out its QE4 fiat money printing program!

  37. Larry Carter

Greg, in my other life, I was a Catholic. Spent 8 years attending catholic grade school under the tutelage of the Sisters of St Joseph. The sisters of St Joseph were the nuns equivalent of Jesuit priest. I also spent 2 years attending Notre Dame High in Harper Woods, Mi. That was my time in hell. Under those 2 bastions of Catholic Faith you were taught to speak only when spoken to and and not to questions any of the beliefs put forward by the church would condemn you to everlasting hell. What a legacy for Catholocism!

    • Charles H

Harper Woods? Not quite Grosse Pointe – but fashionable in it’s day, way back. I grew up in Wayne, MI. Before Canton incorporated.

  38. Deb

The Pope was wearing his City/State hat with DC and the UN. You should have attended Mass with him afterwards, that’s where you’ll find the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. But did you actually listen to Pope Francis UN speech? I did not hear any socialist words. He spoke of everything you preach about on your show, ‘how the uber rich corporations are raping the world.’ If you missed that then perhaps you need a new career? Seriously all kidding aside I like your work. But in all due respect a true Catholic would never leave the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. Also, be assured MSM has done a heck of a job of making this Pope look liberal, please don’t fall for it. He’s not perfect but he sure seems more real than the rest of these clowns.

    • Greg Hunter

Deb, The Pope said, “how the uber rich corporations are raping the world.” This from the biggest lad holder in the world?? That’s rich. Maybe the Pope should divest the Vatican investments in these “uber rich” companies and give it to the poor? I think Francis does a good job of making himself of liberal after scourging congress on the unsettled science of man made global warming. This is a totally liberal bent and politics he should not be inserting himself into. Oh, and by the way, I have not seen a not a single mention of Christ. Thank you for your comment but his praise of the Bishops on how they handled the pedophile priest scandal made me sick. Please remember the biggest crime was the cover-up that went all the way to the Vatican. Thask you for your comment, but the Pope is responsible for his own words and actions not the MSM or USAW.
      Greg

      • Deanna Johnston Clark

You mean those Bishops that live in villas and write about the “traditions” of our forefathers instead of Jesus Christ? Anybody here heard a homily about morality and/or Jesus lately? All I hear is the good stewardship of writing checks and being true to our traditions…a purely humanist reason for anything!!!… Morals are off the table in our diocese.

    • eddiemd

I would rather listen to old time Billy Graham.

The pope is leading the blind. No mention of repentance and belief in Christ.

      • Charles H

        eddie,

Repentance and Faith have been lost for a long time. Even in Fundamental camps – Repentance is not well understood; though is the very formula God has given.

      • GM Mountain man

I have read more comments here today than ever before; the reason? I am encouraged by the number of well informed Christians who are commenting.

    • Dan

Agree completely Matthew! Those that are waiting for some mythological god to save them are going to be waiting forever. Is this God the God of Love or is he the greatest mass murderer in the history of the world (i.e. Destroying the entire population except for Noah & his family). Can you imagine condemning your children to eternal damnation because they don’t believe what you want them to believe? And I suppose all of you saints are going to be rejoicing in heaven knowing that some of your family & friends (indeed, ANYONE!) are suffering for all of eternity at the hands of your so-called God of Love – REALLY? Grow up people, more people have been killed (& continue to be killed) in the name of religion than all of the wars in history! Unfortunately, religions are the great devider not the uniter of the people of this planet – sad indeed! Love your site with regard to economic issues Greg, but it falls woefully short when it deteriorates into a religious discussion. I know, I know, if I don’t like it, I can start my own site. For the most part, I LOVE your site & your interviews, but you could be more tolerant of opposing viewpoints!

      • Greg Hunter

        Dan,
So we don’t agree and you say “falls woefully short when it deteriorates into a religious discussion.” Sorry Dan, but I don’t appreciate the condescending superior attitude passed off as some sort of a well formed argument. You said, “could (you) be more tolerant of opposing viewpoints!” My thoughts exactly.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely- Lord Acton

    Taking that premise.
Institutions by their nature are powerful, the larger the more powerful.
    There for they get corrupted.

Witness the Republican Party, The Democratic Party, the US Government and the Catholic Church.
They are made up of imperfect human beings corrupted by power.
Smaller, decentralized, local institutions almost always preferable, and in many cases none at all are needed.

So, I have been reading this site for sometime now, while taking advice to prep myself and my family. I kept hearing over and over again that September is when the fuse reaches the bomb, but here we all are living like we always have.

Well, is it next September now? I’m really getting impatient with all this talk..or should I say scare tactics?

    • Greg Hunter

      Lady,
The fact should scare the heck out of you on the economy. The math is awful that’s why the Fed could not raise rates a mere .25%. Every day we get to prepare is a gift is how I look at it.
      Greg

      • Pondering

The Lord Himself sets the schedule, and the fact that He tarries a little longer tells us that there are a few more precious souls that He knows need a little more time to come to Him in repentance and full dependence upon the merits of our Saviour, and infilling of our hearts with His Holy Spirit. Did you hear anything like that mentioned this week in the media’s Papal coverage? No. And yet, in contrast, God’s still small voice is still calling to human hearts. The time of completion is ever at hand, and in a very practical sense we must always be in final preparation.

      Hi Lady:
And in way of support for your concerns — Japan is going on 25 years now having done the same thing we have done for only the last 6 years. There is a lot of ruin in a nation and its currency. We may be several generations from any day of final reckoning.

    Greg,
Your comments on Hillary, Obama’s foreign policies and the internet outages/Chinese president’s visit are precisely why I get most of my news from Drudge and opinion from USAWatchdog, PJMedia and Michael Snyder.
The mainstream media have learned that they can influence elections by their biased reporting or by non-reporting. If the leftist/socialist/Marxist Democrat Party, and the RINOs like Boehner (who is thankfully gone), deserve half the responsibility for the swift decline of America, then the mainstream media deserve the other half.
Hillary Clinton deserves to be in prison for her crimes, which are obvious to anyone who is willing to look objectively.
If America escapes major damage from her flippant regard for security, it will be a miracle.

    Hi Greg,

Sorry to hear that you left the Catholic Church. You are always welcome back. Remember that there is sinful people in every institutional chruch. What was done was wrong, but the Catholic church is a big church, so every wrong-doing is amplified by our leftist media. Where else can you receive the sacraments as you do in the Catholic church.
As for the Pope leaving Christ out of speeches, perhaps he is attempting to make “baby steps” and avoid pointing fingers…this time. I think he wanted to convey his messages with love.

    Mike Tollen

    • Greg Hunter

      Michael,
They gave Cardinal Law from Boston a promotion to Vatican City for hiding a pedophile priest in the Boston archdiocese for years. I have nothing but love and respect for Catholics and the Catholic Doctrine but management in Rome–not so much. The Pope is supposed to be the “Vicar of Christ.” This means to stand in place of and the Pope will not even mention his name????? “Too stupid to be stupid.” Danger and warning bells should be going off for all Catholics. Until that is fixed, I will remain a devout Christian without the Catholic Church.
      Greg

      • WD

        Greg,

I always thought Law went to Vatican City as a sort of prison sentence. Not a promotion, like house arrest.

      • Sam Thomas

        Greg

Always enjoy your site, but I think you are off-base introducing your personal religious beliefs. With all due respect, one can easily criticize your interpretation of the Catholic Church and Catholic doctrine. But one thing that is not debatable is whether the Pope, in his recent visit, spoke about Christ. To disprove your point will take about 30 seconds; I invite you to read the actual texts of his speeches and homilies while visiting the U.S., which I found on the website of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

        http://www.usccb.org/about/leadership/holy-see/francis/papal-visit-2015/2015-papal-visit-speeches-homilies.cfm

By the way, I always find it interesting that the most uncharitable and un-Christian comments about Catholics come from our Protestant brothers and sisters, whose spiritual rage (founded in pride and disobedience) is undiminished after 500 years. Truth should not produce anything but peace, harmony, and love.

        • Greg Hunter

          Sam,
It’s my site and I will do what I think is right. The Pope is stepping into the political arena by pushing his policies and that means he is fair game. He get’s no free pass here. You said, “With all due respect, one can easily criticize your interpretation of the Catholic Church and Catholic doctrine.” With all due respect you are an idiot. If you go back and listen to the video post I said, “I agree with the Catholic Doctrine.” By the way, Christ was crucified for telling the truth. He is the greatest truth teller of ALL time.
          Peace brother,
          Greg

          • Sam Thomas

So, Greg, where did I say that Jesus did not tell the truth?

Greg, if you agree with Catholic Doctrine, then by definition you also must accept the importance of the Sacraments of the Church, which includes those Sacraments which you do not currently receive if you are outside of the Church, notably, the Eucharist and Reconciliation, both of which were instituted by Jesus himself in Scripture, as I am sure you are aware. I hope you will reconsider your decision to separate from the Church in that case.

Jesus also instituted the Church in the person of Peter, its first Pope, which form the Church has maintained across 2,000 years.

For 1,500 years all of Christendom considered the Pope as infallible in teaching “ex Cathedra” in matters of faith and morals; only since that time have sad divisions, confusion and error emerged between the hundreds of Christian branches. How many different Christian sects can have “The Truth?” Is there more than one Truth? Is one Christian denomination that permits abortion and gay marriage as faithful to the teaching of Jesus as the Catholic Church, which does not? Or, alternatively, is it only individual conscience that defines what it means to be a follower of Christ? If so, can you be an abortionist by profession and still be a Christian? The Catholic Church says, of course, no. So whence originates ultimate Authority? The Catholic Church has always, boldly, asserted this claim, despite the many failures of its individual human members, both lay and clerical, across the centuries, including the most recent outrages.

I doubt global warming or political matters fall into this category, so any Catholic is free to object to the Pope’s opinion, much less anyone else.

Of course it is your site and you can say what you like. But those of us who watch “religiously” as we move through this critical and historical period of time (from both an economic and political standpoint) and who value your contributions are unaccustomed to religious controversy; and, while I am indeed most probably an “idiot” I also feel obligated to object when I think your criticism of our Church (of which you will always be a member, having been baptized Catholic) is unfair.

I thank you for your hard work and commitment to the truth and look forward to more excellent interviews.

            • Greg Hunter

              Sam,
Thank you for your comment and concern. Please do not confuse separating with the Catholic Church with separating from Christ. I am a Christian and I receive the Sacraments but just not from a priest. I think we can agree that child rape is a sin. I left the Catholic Church for the much bigger sin of covering it up. This has never been fully addressed by the Church and it is THE single reason I will NOT return the the Catholic Church, even though I love and respect Catholics, and think the Catholic Doctrine is flawless. The Pope and the Vatican-not so much. Case in point, after the Boston child rape scandal, Cardinal Law (in charge of the Dioceses) received a job in the Vatican, and held that job until 2011. I rest my case, and this discussion is closed. Thank you for your comment. As I frequently say “Good men can disagree.”
              Greg

            • Deanna Johnston Clark

Sam, the priests were too lazy and comfortable to bring the sacraments into the Scottish borders and Wales. It was the Methodist circuit riders who brought a revival of the Gospel there. My family were Methodists from there.
This history lesson is from a Msgr. Daniel Bourke from Belfast…an old friend. He was very conservative but loved history.
The Catholic Church is an urban church. ..born in an urban, sophisticated culture of Pagan Rome. But the frontier, the lonely places…they have a simpler and in some ways more beautiful faith. God will find a way to show His love.

          • Deanna Johnston Clark

Yes…how can you trust someone who fails at his duty? Francis is paid a respected to be a pastor of our Lord. If he wants to be a politician or social worker, why doesn’t he be an honest man and do that?
A musician who plays out of tune or a dentist who does bad work has to soon find another profession. But where are objective standards for a Pope? He’s protected by pixie dust?
If I hang out my shingle for a business, I must earn a good reputation….so do all of us. The Pope is Bishop of Rome. That’s his job. It comes with clear duty to tell the good news of Jesus Christ., without being squeamish about it.

“For decades, extreme ideologies on both the left and the right have clashed over the conspiratorial concept of a shadowy secret government pulling the strings on the world’s heads of state and captains of industry.”

“This quasi-secret cabal pulling the strings in Washington and much of America’s foreign policy is maintained by a corporatist ideology that thrives on deregulation, outsourcing, deindustrialization, and financialization. American exceptionalism, or the great “Washington Consensus,” yields perpetual war and economic imperialism abroad while consolidating the interests of the oligarchy here at home.”

  46. Philip K

Greg, I am sorry that you left the Catholic Church over these scandals. Yes, they were terrible ans several priests and bishops should be in jail. However, Less than one percent of all Catholic priests and bishops were involved in this scandal–The Catholic Church through the centuries has done marvelous work for humanity, especially in the realm of healthcare–being the first to establish hospitals in the U.S. These scandals, as horrible as they are, are minor compared to the charitable work the Catholic Church does for humanity. Also, you left, as did Martin Luther, instead of praying and working to reform these scandals within the Church. You separated yourself from the Church that Jesus Himself established when he gave St. Peter the “Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven” and as a historical fact, St. Peter’s successors–The Popes throughout history. You separated yourself from Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass and the Sacrament of Confession–established by Christ! Look what you have left!! And if you want scandal–So many “christian churches” have had their share of scandals. I would stongly encourage you to return to Christ and His Catholic Church and the Sacraments–These are the essentials for our eternal salvation–Not what the Pope says as his opinion. Only when the Pope speaks solemnly on matters of “Faith and Morals” are the Pope’s words binding on the faithful. We can disagree with him when he is giving his opinion on other matters. Please send me your phone number by e-mail if you want to discuss these things in private. May God bless you.

    • Greg Hunter

      Yes Phillip,
Less than 1% of priests were involved in the scandal but 100% of the Vatican was involved in the cover-up and that is the biggest sin of all.
      Greg

      • eddiemd

Stay away from anything to do with the catholic church.

      • GM Mountain man

Greg, I think some people are confusing membership in some organization as opposed to “a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.” When you separated yourself from an organization because of scandals (intentional cover-up of sinful activities), you did not separate yourself from Jesus Christ. The “Church” is a body of believers, not membership in some man made organization.

        • Linda louin

          Mountain Man:
You’re absolutely right. Mega churches aren’t the ticket to heaven. Rather its the relationship with JESUS that’s the key. ALL these condolences to Greg over his personal decision to leave the biggest mega church in the world are just silly.

    • Maggie

While those who give scandal are guilty of the spiritual equivalent of murder, those who take scandal- who allow scandals to destroy faith- are guilty of spiritual suicide.

      daddy warbucks,

You need to do a little homework before you go off on a tangent and look simply ridiculous. Your claim that the Pope invoked the name of Lucifer at the Easter Vigil Mass in St. Peters, Basilica. Please read the following:
      Latin word lucifer[edit]

As an adjective, the Latin word lucifer meant “light-bringing” and was applied to the moon.[6] As a noun, it meant “morning star”, or, in Roman mythology, its divine personification as “the fabled son of Aurora[45] and Cephalus, and father of Ceyx”, or (in poetry) “day”.[6] The second of the meanings attached to the word when used as a noun corresponds to the image in Greek mythology of Eos, the goddess of dawn, giving birth to the morning star Phosphorus.[45]

Isaiah 14:12 is not the only place where the Vulgate uses the word lucifer. It uses the same word four more times, in contexts where it clearly has no reference to a fallen angel: 2 Peter 1:19 (meaning “morning star”), Job 11:17 (“the light of the morning”), Job 38:32 (“the signs of the zodiac”) and Psalms 110:3 (“the dawn”).[46] To speak of the morning star, lucifer is not the only expression that the Vulgate uses: three times it uses stella matutina: Sirach 50:6 (referring to the actual morning star), and Revelation 2:28 (of uncertain reference) and 22:16 (referring to Jesus).

Indications that in Christian tradition the Latin word Lucifer, unlike the English word, did not necessarily call a fallen angel to mind exist also outside the text of the Vulgate. Two bishops bore that name: Saint Lucifer of Cagliari, and Lucifer of Siena.

In Latin, the word is applied to John the Baptist and is used as a title of Jesus himself in several early Christian hymns. The morning hymn Lucis largitor splendide of Hilary contains the line: “Tu verus mundi lucifer” (you are the true light bringer of the world).[47] Some interpreted the mention of the morning star (lucifer) in Ambrose’s hymn Aeterne rerum conditor as referring allegorically to Jesus and the mention of the cock, the herald of the day (praeco) in the same hymn as referring to John the Baptist.[48] Likewise, in the medieval hymn Christe qui lux es et dies, some manuscripts have the line “Lucifer lucem proferens”.[49]

NOW READ THE FOLLOWING AS THE REAL EXPLAINATION. These are the EXACT same words used in the video.

The Latin word lucifer is also used of Jesus in the Easter Proclamation prayer to God regarding the paschal candle: Flammas eius lucifer matutinus inveniat: ille, inquam, lucifer, qui nescit occasum. Christus Filius tuus, qui, regressus ab inferis, humano generi serenus illuxit, et vivit et regnat in saecula saeculorum (“May this flame be found still burning by the Morning Star: the one Morning Star who never sets, Christ your Son, who, coming back from death’s domain, has shed his peaceful light on humanity, and lives and reigns for ever and ever”). In the works of Latin grammarians, Lucifer, like Daniel, was discussed as an example of a personal name.[50]

It is a personal name like Daniel. Some other half-wit put this up on this site before. Obviously you are not Catholic and do not understand LATIN.

    Keep up the good work.

Dear Greg, the scripture says, if any man thinks himself to be something, he is nothing. So when complain over a departure from the faith, I run the risk of being accused of having a spiritual pride. It also says love edifies, so I may be seen as unloving by others when complaints are voiced. But at some point it will become evident, if this pope has departed from the faith once and for all is delivered to the saints. At present his continued muti-faith assembling, though it gives the appearance of good will, and as you said, not what he does, but what he fails to do, can be the clearest evidence presented. Christ said, the world will hate you, because it hated me, and I have called you out of the world. Also 1Jn. 4th chapter, they are of the world, Therefore they speak of the world and the world hears them. We are of God, he who is of God hears us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. And also in another place, He who would be a friend of the world, makes himself, an enemy of God. I think you have reason to question these things. I personally believe, he will be the pope that leads millions away from Christ, he is by title the Vicar of Christ, which is in place of Christ on earth. His authority is greater than the written word of God, to those who so blindly follow. The written word is the barometer, for it is Christ himself, guiding his sheep. My sheep, here my voice, and another they will not follow. You are right to question what he does, if true is avoided for unity. Unity apart from truth, is another tower of babel. May God use you, in the days ahead, by staying spiritually alert. Brother Don

Thank you Don for the comment and perspective.

  50. Your fan in Japan

Greg, usually I congratulate you on your interviews and WNWs. They are consistently great. However, this time you took shots at the Pope and I, who remain Catholic despite of all the sht around me, must defend my religion and its “figurehead”, the Pope. (and on a simply gentlemanly level, you are taking shots at an old man who is not going to defend himself on your site- so I’ll jump into the fray for honor’s sake. )

Now, first, you complain that he doesn’t mention Jesus. I read his address to Congress. You are correct, he does not mention Jesus. But he does mention that Americans, who have a special sense of liberty and democracy, have to work together, What’s wrong with that? Two heads are better than one, united we stand, lend a helping hand and all that. (BTW, Greg, if you were Catholic, you know that we usually refer to “The Father, Son and Holy Spirit” placing emphasis on God as the Trinity, rather than Jesus(alone) as God.)

Second, you complain that the Pope is a leftist. Why do you say that? Because he recommends that the rich give their money to the poor? Why, on nearly every show, you highlight how the powers that be are unfairly manipulating the economy and how things are not getting any better for the little guy. So, why shouldn’t the rich help out the poor- especially since the system is unfair and those gains by the rich were not likely come by legitimately in the first place. The Pope will always recommend giving money away because Jesus recommended the same (He probably knew that the system wasn’t fair then either).

Third, you comment on the priest sexual abuse scandal and how the Pope wants to move beyond that. I have not followed that scandal closely. However, at some point we WILL have to move past that. The issue, as grave as it is, MUST be handled as equitably as possible. And then, we must move on- lest we stay trapped in the past. I do not recommend sweeping anything under the rug, but there are big challenges ahead- the Syrian refugee crisis is already upon us, we must also deal with the present and the future- especially WW3, which, if you spend much time on the net, is supposed to begin any day now.

Fourth, you mention the argument that the Vatican should sell its assets, including its art to help the poor. To use a phrase that you use, “That is too stupid to be stupid”. Look what would happen. First the Vatican exchanges its art for FRNs and presumable uses those to help the poor. Some will be helped, for a time, and then the money will run out. It will have had a short term effect. It is better to look at this from the owner’s side. God created Michaelangelo and endowed him with cettain artistic abilities. He used these abilities to paint religious masterpieces. Were these only to be seen by the people of his immediate generation? I don’t think so. The church, has become the caretaker of such art. The church indeed has a duty to guard these works, and protect them for posterity. (Perhaps a personal example will make this clearer. I have, in my possession, a nativity set made by my grandmother. Every Christmas this is part of our family’s decorations. I will not trade this set for FRNs. I wouldn’t even trade this set for PMs. There is only one like it in the world and made by my grandmother- whom I loved. I plan to pass this on to my kids when they are older. It is an heirloom. Surely, you have something like this in your family. It is worth more than money and you feel almost a duty to pass it on. The Church and its art are like this. Held in posterity for posterity. )

As for helping the poor- I recently had a birthday. For my mother, in the states, it is bothersome to send a gift to me overseas. This year I asked that she send a check to you instead- for your work. Perhaps I should have asked that that money go to a more needy charity- to help the poor.

    • Greg Hunter

      Fan,
It is the Popes main job to spread the word of Christ and he never mentions Jesus Christ Lord and Savior. Instead the Pope, talks about things such as the dangers of global warming or illegal immigration. We will have to disagree on this point.

Dolly thank you for your comment. I don’t use it much yet. I will be incorporating it more for programming notes and promotion of things upcoming and some special offers. I have only had one special offer from my only sponsor of the “How do I buy Gold and Silver” page. I have had many wanting to buy that page but turned everyone down except the current sponsor Discount Gold and Silver Trading. (DGST) There are lots of rip-off artistes out there and DGST (I am happy to report) is not one of them. They bring me no shame and that was a big part of the reason they remain. THANK YOU for your support!!!

    Greg,

I love your WNW’s. I like your delivery and style, but especially your sense of humor.
Thanks for not bashing Catholics. As a staunch Catholic I made the decision to stay with the Church. It is the evils of man that will continue until death.

That being said I have not and do not intend to watch any of the media’s take on this Pope. I don’t trust him at all. He is the Vicar of Christ and supposedly working with the Holy Spirit. Thanks for doing all the watching and reporting about him leaving out Jesus Christ. You are spot on when you talk about how much easier it will be for people to accept the work God in place of Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. I thought I would throw up when I saw all the so called Catholic, Pelosi, Boehner, Biden, etc. They vote for abortion, PPH, they are just fakes and it makes the rest of us look bad. It is like Caroline Kennedy says how she is Catholic, but for abortion….oxymoron.

All of my Protestant friends are raving about him. Hummmm!!!! If they like him it is a “Warning Will Robinson” moment. I figure he is in with the rest of the Elite. Don’t trust the Jesuits at all.

The Pope will make it sound real good and all, but watch out for reversals. What they really want in the end is control over all the resources, water, land, etc. They will tell you that they need that control to make sure everyone around the globe will be provided for NOT!!!! They don’t want you growing a garden or catching rain from your down spouts. This is about CONTROL and they want it.

Interesting … as Hillary is attacked … I bet she is bringing out some dirt on a bunch of others … House Speaker John Boehner just resigned … looking at the faces of many Congressmen I see “fear” in their eyes … the history books may one day write that corrupt government was overturned in 2015 by the actions of one women!

    • paul

House Speaker John Boehner on resigning said it was to prevent “putting members (of Congress) through prolonged leadership turmoil” … Hillary must have him by the balls!

Paul I posed a question to some friends this week. If a man came down from the clouds and solved all the worlds problems. All of the healed, wealthy, and food for the poor. He even had nail prints in his hands and feet. He sent out a group of people to allow those that want to worship him to come and worship him. My question to the group was would you go worship him?

            • paul

JC … what was their reply??

              • J C Davis

Paul one said they would go worship if he was doing all the works Jesus did. The rest said (no) Jesus would not have to send out anyone to collect his own.

      • paul

One day we may find out how huge his Boehner was that took him down!

        • J C Davis

Paul I have asked myself at least 5 times, What skeleton’s are in his closet.

          • paul

Hillary and former President Bill Clinton have a lot of experience fighting political enemies and likely have information on exactly where other skeletons are hidden … in Bill’s interview on Sunday he blamed “Republicans” for his wife’s troubles! … so I’m prepared to see “more Republican resignations” as the heat gets turned up on Clinton enemies!

            • Greg Hunter

              Paul,
I think this is a total smoke screen. Bill Clinton knows full well Hillary’s “server” and “Clinton Foundation” stories were first leaked by the Obama White House and Valery Jarret with Obama’s approval no doubt.

    Greg,

I would love for you to have Peter Schiff back on the show! He is the one that opened my eyes to what is happening to our country. I cannot believe what the government has done to his father by jailing him and leaving him there to die! He has done nothing wrong except to speak out about the evils of the IRS and Federal Reserve. If you do have Peter on again soon can you please announce to the many people on this site about what has happened to Irwin Schiff and allow Peter to expand on it. The truth needs to be out there so maybe some pressure would be put on these government officials to let this innocent man out so he can spend his last few days on earth with his family. The Schiff family reminds me of modern day Paul Reveres sounding the alarm that the enemy is coming and actually among us. Thank you Greg!

Actually the Pope IS a scientist. He has the equivalent of a community college degree in science. While he was never a practicing scientist, he has more scientific background than just about any political pundit and is qualified to speak on climate change.

Why are you so sure that you are right, and 97% of scientists are wrong? I only deal in facts, I am not here spouting an opinion, and the fact is that 2014 was the warmest year ever. Of the 10 warmest years on record, can you guess how many have occurred since 1998? The answer is 10 out of 10. ALL of them. Those are facts. So do you have evidence that disproves global warming, or can you just call names when you disagree?

        • Greg Hunter

          Victoor,
I did not say you were a troll but that you sounded like a troll. Big difference. Good men can disagree and we will have to agtree to disagree on this point. Vict0r,
I get so disgusted with the garbage number of 97% scientist blah blah blah. Here is a link showing (Just the Facts) were that number came from. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/07/18/about-that-overwhelming-98-number-of-scientists-consensus/. Briefly; ~10,000 surveys sent out. ~3000 received. 77 scientist answered and 75 agreed with man made global warming. Only 75/77 answered yes!!! Wow – Maybe a double WOW, that so few scientist even answered. What? … so the other 2925 scientist (97.5%) did not even take the time to answer! That has got to make a concerned person ask WTF! Here is a good link to global warming debunked in 60 seconds. Again Just the Facts – https://www.corbettreport.com/climate-myths-debunked/. Just my opinion, but anyone that uses that 97% number should be embarrassed once they know where it comes from!

Hello Greg, I enjoy your site, guests and reading comments and never miss a wrap up. Your comments about Jesus being poor are false. He had his own personal banker and money manager ( judas) who carried the money bag. The wise men brought camel loads of gold and stuff when he was born. His cloths were seamless which the guards gambled over….no he was loaded as loaded could be. He supplied every thing for himself and his entourage, never had to beg for hand outs or just brought in with his faith, donkey included. Cheers Doug

      Doug,
I never read a single thing about this in the Bible.

I thought that was in the movie “The last temptation of Christ”. You know that movie with Willem Dafoe from the 1980’s.

I always use Hollywood as a reputable source.

    • brian

You know Doug, there is a lot about Jesus that was left untold and I think a lot of people would be devastated by the reality of Christ’s presence in the world. You can bet your bottom dollar that the self serving megalomaniacs seeking to monopolize the written
word of God monkeyed around with things.

Most of us have invested way too much in our beliefs and have compromised our Faith and resultant relationship with the living God as a result. Its sad and its why this world is shot to crap.

    • J C Davis

I LOVE IT DOUG ! Thank you. The King was never poor. Even tho he had no home, No pillow to rest upon. Was raised by a poor family, and yet he always had his right place as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Great point that should be looked at. Overlooked by many. Sharp eye man. Never begged for anything. The power of God took care of Him. In (fact) He made a mockery of those that had to have a place to lay there heads. Cleaned out the sellers in the temple. There is a way that seems right but leads to destruction.

Greg I respectfully disagree with you on this one. Doug is right . Jesus could have taken over all the governments of every nation if he had no work to do for the Father. While Jesus held nothing for himself he could have taken everything. He was not without ability when he was hung. In fact his followers thought they were going to take over.

Actually, Eddie – the gifts from the wise men – went to ‘the small child’, probably weaned: as a provision for the journey into Egypt to evade the slaughter of the innocents. It was a provision of God, to a providential purpose of saving Jesus Christ’s life, in a time when he was vulnerable.

    • aussie jeff

Doug ……………..how do you arrive at Christ being wealthy because Judas was appointed to oversee a money box?
Where does it say Christ was wealthy? The money box amongst other things was to take care of the disciples day to day needs, along with helping the poor.
Jesus had no need to be wealthy, and did not look for wealth.
      matthew 8:20
Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
Jesus not staying at five star Inn’s Doug.
His seemless garment was an undergarment, woven in one piece from neck to ankle, according to the Pulpit commentary on this verse, it could have possibly been woven by His mother, not a sign of wealth at all.
Jesus spoke often on the evils of wealth.
You remember Him turning over the tables of the money changers doing business in His Fathers temple dont you Doug?
      Jesus also said about wealth:
      Mark 10:25
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Jesus worked tirelessly during His ministry, He fed thousands with a couple of loaves of bread and a few fishes, not because He had alot of money Doug, He was in full control of the Holy Spirit, you tarnish our Saviour by broad brushing statements and posting a few bible verses to somehow think that it backs up your false claims.

    • aussie jeff

      P.s Doug,
Sorry mate I missed your matthew 2:11 scripture, where Jesus was brought gifts of gold, incense and myrrh. The gifts themselves never made Jesus wealthy, we know this because He learn’t to become a carpenter,(he worked for a living) a trade He continued with until His ministry began at age 30.
The gifts themselves, were a symbolism of what would happen later in Jesus life,if you care to do your homework Doug you might be surprised at what you can learn from God’s word, rash statements about our Saviour Jesus Christ only make you look silly.

    • JMiller

      Doug,

You are correct about the wise men giving gold in Matthew 2:11. You are correct about Jesus having a seamless clothes being gambled over in John 19:23. Also correct with Judas having the money bag in John 12:6 and in John 13:29. These truths are clear for anyone to see. While I would not say that Jesus was poor, I also would not say that he was rich either.

JMiller. I love this line of thought. Jesus did not own anything in writing. Yet the power he had. by healing, and many other Godly works No one of that time thought he would submit to death hell and the grave to secure the future of those who call on him. I would invite all thinking folks to look into the perfect law of freedom. Jesus had all things at his reach yet, gave it up to accomplish a spiritual work that lives in God forever. He had it all if he was willing to go to war.
Heal my baby from a death killing item and I will believe. He suffered more by living among us then he did on the cross.

    • J C Davis

Doug. The modern church don’t teach this. Non the less it is true. Jesus could have ruled the world of his time. The temptation must have been great.

      • Brother Rice

J.C., Satan is the enemy of God, and Satan is our enemy. We cannot see him because he is a spirit. But he can see us. One day the Devil talked with Jesus, the Great Teacher, and tried to tempt him. What would Jesus do? The right thing to do and when we are tempted.

Jesus always wanted to do God’s will. He openly showed this by being baptized in the Jordan River. It was right after Jesus’ baptism that Satan tried to tempt Him. The Bible says that “the heavens were opened up” to Jesus. (Matthew 3:16) This could mean that Jesus now began to remember all about his earlier life in heaven with God.

After his baptism Jesus went into a wilderness to think about the things that he had begun to remember. Forty days and nights went by. All this time Jesus did not eat anything, so he was now very hungry. It was at this moment Satan tried to tempt Jesus.

The Devil said: “If you are a son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” How good some bread would have tasted! But could Jesus have turned stones into loaves of bread?— Yes, he could have. Why? Because Jesus, the Son of God, had special powers.

Would you have made a stone into a loaf of bread if the Devil had asked you to do it?— Jesus was hungry. So wouldn’t it have been all right to do it just once?— Jesus knew that it was wrong to use his powers in that way. Jehovah had given him those powers to draw people to God, not to use for himself.

So, instead, Jesus told Satan what is written in the Bible: ‘Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from God’s own mouth.’ Jesus knew that doing what pleases God is even more important than having food to eat.

But the Devil tried again. He took Jesus into Jerusalem and had him stand up on a high part of the temple. Then Satan said: ‘If you are a son of God, throw yourself down from here. For it is written that God’s angels will keep you from hurting yourself.’

Why did Satan say this?— He said it to tempt Jesus to do something foolish. But again Jesus did not listen to Satan. He told Satan: “It is written, ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test.’” Jesus knew that it was wrong to test God by taking chances with his life.

Still, Satan did not give up. Next he took Jesus along to a very high mountain. There he showed him all the kingdoms, or governments, of the world and their glory. Then Satan said to Jesus: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.”

Think about the Devil’s offer. Did all these kingdoms, or governments of men, really belong to Satan?— Well, Jesus did not deny that they were Satan’s. He would have done that if Satan had not owned them. Yes, Satan really is the ruler of all the nations of the world. The Bible even calls him “the ruler of this world.”—John 12:31.

What would you do if the Devil promised you something if you worshiped him?— Jesus knew that it would be wrong to worship the Devil no matter what He would get. So Jesus said: ‘Go away, Satan! For the Bible says that it is Jehovah your God you must worship and that you must serve only him.’—Matthew 4:1-10; Luke 4:1-13.

        • J C Davis

Brother Rice. The earth is the lords and the fullness there in. Jesus was neither poor or rich because he needed neither. Yet one must know if he commanded a rock to become gold it would have. The devil is the king of the powers of the air unless someone invites him into there body. There are many that invite satin in everyday.

    Hello Greg.

Loved your commentary on the pope, thank you so much. I’m a lifelong Protestant.

You said you didn’t hear the pope mention the name of Jesus even once. Well, the only thing I really listened to was a bit of the pope speaking in St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington DC.

This is not verbatim, but the live translator said:
Wherever the name of Jesus is spoken may the pope’s voice also be heard, that, to affirm he is the Savior.
From your great eastern coastal cities to the plains of the Midwest from the Deep South to the far reaches (or beaches) of the west where ever your people gather…, may the pope not simply be a name invoked out of habit but a real tangible presence to sustain the fervent plea of the bride, come Lord. When a hand reaches out to do good, or to show a brother the love of Christ to dry a tear or to comfort the lonely who show a way to one that is lost or console a broken heart, to help the fallen or teach those (Word I didn’t understand) For truth to give or offer a new start in God know that the pope is by your side the pope supports you, he also puts his hand on yours a hand wrinkled with age but with God’s grace it is still able to support and encourage.

And Greg, when the pope said “he is the Saviour”, he pointed emphatically with his hand. But who is the Saviour in his eyes – Jesus or the pope?

Then, as you can read in the quote, the pope went on to make it sound as though the pope follows us through life. He mentioned Jesus first, to get it out of the way, and then made it sound as though the pope is doing what Jesus does for us.

That was enough for me! I had tuned him in because this is end-times Bible prophecy being fulfilled.

Thank you for your videos and the great guests you have on.

Gregg, thank you. As a non-practicing Catholic, I like you could not go on supporting an evil organization supporting evil actions.

Luke 12:8 “And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God; 9 but he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

Gregg, I believe you account well for yourself while a certain other fellow, not so much.

And for those who do not understand (appreciate) the eternal vs the temporal, no explanation will suffice. The financial collapse with the geo political, military movements and social/religious unrest are ALL controlled by a sovereign God on his throne. He told the end from the beginning, and you are watching that unfolding before your eyes. And nothing will stop it.

Gregg, thank you again and God bless you. Fear Not (Great Line).

Events are unfolding quickly tonight. Talk is now swirling about the political liability of Volkswagon. You will begin to hear about the “scandal” surrounding the scandal: politicians and regulators are being thrown to the wolves. The western media will report on some cozy relationships over the weekend.

  64. paul

Put me in charge at the Fed … and I’ll create more wealth … and put it directly in peoples hands … without printing up more fiat paper dollar debt.

I would simply declare the penny to be worth a dime … the nickel worth 50 cents … the dime worth a dollar and the quarter worth $2.50.

With this “new wealth” instantly in peoples hands the effect on the economy should be dramatic … the velocity of money would increase … and as a side benefit tax revenues to the government will increase as the rising velocity of money will increase the number of taxable transactions.

This increase in the value of US coinage is preferable to more QE … which simply creates more paper debt … and is the exact opposite of the Fed always does … depreciating our money!

    • paul

Then … I guess you can figure out what I will do … I would take six quarters (worth $2.50 each) and buy an ounce of silver (at $15 dollars) … which would only cost me $1.50 in “old coin valuation terms” … so I’m saving my change … just in case … someone at the Fed thinks of stealing my idea!

      • paul

Some people may say … making a common coin’s valuation “greater” is a loony tune idea … well why is the government stamping $1 dollar on a $15 dollar silver coin? … and why is the government stamping $50 dollars on an $1100 dollar gold coin? … is stamping a coin’s value “less” then what it is worth any more intelligent? … the government is so used to stealing our money by “depreciating it” that not one Fed or Government official could ever conceive (in their warped minds) of actually making our coins “more valuable” then what is stamped on it!

        • paul

Such a one time “re-set” of all US common coin valuations will eliminate the need for a new domestic “shiest dollar” to depreciate all the fiat paper debt IOU’s the Fed has created in the world! … it gives Americans (holding coin of the realm) a small advantage … as for foreigners who hold only “Fed paper debt notes” (they will only get 10 cents on the dollar they now hold)! … it’s a sure fire way to finally begin destroying the bankers “Frankenstein paper currency IOU’s” they print with such abandon!

          • paul

If such a “coin re-set” comes to pass … the “debt jubilee” each American gets will depend on the number of coins they own … for instance … if you owe $10,000 dollars of credit card debt it would require you own $1000 dollars worth of coins to pay pay off your entire debt!

Once Americans are “debt free” … just watch the economy boom!

    Gail/unsinkable S. Gal/All:

Maybe it is a generational thing, our perception of the RC Church. Growing up, I was required to attend Mass 6 days a week, did the Stations of the Cross with my class ever Friday of Lent, marched on the hot playground reciting the rosary for the month of May. On top of that, I went home to more of the same.

Life was very regimented, very black and white. I knew without asking what would not be tolerated. Until I left home, I was not permitted to wear slacks out of the home. My parents were both children of immigrants and had definite rules.

One day the Church from on high said a big “never mind” to all of it. I was very confused, lost even. This was in a decade when every other rule of convention was tossed over the wall. We see the results of “do it if it feels good.”

These last however many days of the papal visit have made me glad I made the decision to get rid of my TV years ago. If this had been a conservative pope, he would have been blacked out by the news and the WH.

All the agenda boxes have been checked off by the progressives. Pedophilia seems to be their next milestone in the warm-up pen. I was born in 1950, saw and experienced this country’s best ideals. If you go back that far or more, you know that something very dark is brewing.

I can still remember the month of May and the recitation of the rosary for Mary on the Black top.. hot as blue blazes. I look back and have such fond memories of the Sisters and all the students. When I graduated there were 11 in my 8th grade class. I loved St. Rose of Lima in Murfreesboro, TN. The nuns were so kind and I wanted to ape them. I in turn became an educator hoping to influence many as they had done.

    Hi Greg,
Found this in reference to the papal visit http://www.pacificrimcoin.com/uncategorized/the-shocking-message-pope-francis-preached-at-new-yorks-st-patricks-cathedral-truly-shocking/ The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be richly with your spirit Greg.

    • mark

To Greg’s point about the pope not mentioning Jesus in any of his public comments, the above listed link goes to an article commenting on the pope’s largely unpublished “sermon” at St. Patrick’s during his visit to NY which provides compelling insight into what this pope really thinks of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, “crucified for our offenses, raised for our justification” (Rom. 4:25) Fear not, for ” there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to be borne in its own times. For which I was appointed a herald and an apostle (I speak the truth; I do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth”. (1 Timothy 2:5-7)

(Mark This is Greg Hunter and let me add his NYC unpublished sermon here: http://www.pacificrimcoin.com/uncategorized/the-shocking-message-pope-francis-preached-at-new-yorks-st-patricks-cathedral-truly-shocking/ Every Christian should read this!!)

      • mark

I should point out that Paul does make the point in his second letter to the believers in Corinth that “indeed He (Christ) was CRUCIFIED OUT OF WEAKNSS, BUT HE LIVES BY THE POWER OF GOD. For indeed we are weak in Him, but we will live together with Him by the power of God directed toward you”. (2 Cor.13:4)

    • Greg Hunter

  69. Ernie

I hear you defending the dogma, but not the spirit of Christ. Were Christ alive today, what do you think he would say about poverty, environmental degradation, Wall Street, etc. ? Certainly he would condemn priests’ abuse ofchildren and the Church’s wealth. Really… have you reflected upon what the living Christ’s positions would be on different issues? I doubt he would be concerned about no one mentioning his name. Rather I suspect he would be concerned about the well being of others. Using your logic, the Dalai Lama also should be condemned for addressing social issues without referencing the word Buddha. I hear in both the Dalai Lama and the Pope’s presentations a view that expresses compassion not dogma. Finally, I hear in your anger for the Pope your profound suffering over your loss of faith in Catholicism Wishing you the best.

    • Greg Hunter

      Ernie,
You really need to go back and listen to what I said about the Catholic Doctrine. I totally agree with it. I just wish the Pope did too.

As far as Christ goes, you said, “I doubt he would be concerned about no one mentioning his name. Rather I suspect he would be concerned about the well being of others.” You really need to go back and study what Christ was all about in the Bible. His main concern was not “the well being of others.” It was about salvation and getting people to heaven in the next life THROUGH CHRIST–period. Christ was Not about the Popes left wing wacko socialist political view about Global Warming and mass illegal immigration in the US. Also, by the Pope quoting Christ (and you would have to say his name which this Pope barley mentioned on his “historic” trip) he would be bringing salvation (which is the Pope’s main job) to the world by getting people to come to Christ our Lord and Savior.

As far as my anger goes, Yes, I am guilty of anger on this subject. I always get angry when grow men commit felony child rape on a mass scale, and then get away with it by the Catholic Church paying people off instead of mass prosecutions of Priests and Vatican officials. The cover-up went all the way to the Vatican, and that is the most shameful and criminal act in the whole criminal scandal. So, you are right, I am angry about that, and maybe God the Father and his Son will forgive me for my outrage and anger over decades of child rape of little boys by the very people who should have been protecting them. My bad.

As far as my faith, I am a Christian, and have an unshakable love for Jesus Christ. I am a sinner, but that does not stop me from having a relationship with Christ, and I do not need the Catholic Church to continue that relationship. I think I am on totally solid ground on this point from a Biblical perspective. After Christ died on the Cross the Bible says, “And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.” (KJV) The (NIV) give a little clearer translation by saying, “At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.”
This basically says that after Christ died on the cross, people can have a direct relationship with Christ. No need for a Rabi or. Doesn’t the Pope say having a personal relationship outside the Catholic Church is “Dangerous”? You should Google this and you will find more than 7 million pieces of information on this. Here’s one:http://www.plaintruth.com/the_plain_truth/2014/07/pope-francis-says-a-personal-relationship-with-jesus-is-dangerous-and-absurd-without-the-church.html

“Wishing you the best” too and my you have a personal relationship with Christ that is as strong as your love for this Pope.

Everything that the pope is doing is completely in character with his office. He has never pledged allegiance to God’s Word. He denies that we are justified by faith in Christ alone. He openly urges people to commit idolatry and pray to things that are not God. He will teach what he wishes. He will bring glory for Himself. He is and has been for many, many years the son of destruction and the man of sin. When you have already taken away the salvation of so many, then teaching people to destroy the free market and to take away freedoms is chump change.

    Life as a Zek (us).

Pollock made reference to us as the Zeks — a Soviet term for prisoners. I thought this movie portrayed what you are to the state, once buying your vote is no longer necessary — once they see you as just a government services burden or useless eater.

I thought Ed Harris did a good job of portraying an American who got caught in Stalin’s snare. Colin Farrell played the grubby Soviet from the lower rungs who survived on ruthlessness.

Eventually we may well become a “5810” or a “5814” offender as far as the state is concerned, working off a trumped up offense to the death.

If you are Polish or Slav of any stripe, you will identify. Eventually all of us will.

    Great testimony!
On september 23rd, Yom Kippur, I did security at the Joseph Kahala synagogue in Westwood California.
Last time we did it a couple of years ago a small group came out after it was over and faced east towards Jerusalem praying and reading Psalms in Hebrew.
This year after the service was over a little Jewish man came out on the sidewalk squinting at scripture in a book and looking up at the moon. A little while later a group of about 10 to 12 people came out and did also, the young rabbi led some reciting and reading of Scripture and prayers.  Hmmm?
My son who had a bit of a rough life when he was young and his mom divorced, is doing much better, he is married and taking care of his wife’s 21 year old autistic brother. He did video graphics for Prime Focus that worked on “Pan” and in November they are going to make him a team leader. My kids knew where I was during the week, Bible studies and worship, that made all the difference. Following Christ takes time from our lives but it is well worth it now and in eternity.
Man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.
I’m trying to start a group that encourages baby boomer seniors to go back to attending church again and sit in the front row..

    Quote from the last article:
“They had settled on a volcanic island close to the Polar circle, situated 1000 kilometres west of Norway. At the time Iceland was covered with considerably more forests than today. About ¼ of the island was covered with birch-forests (today only 1 %!). The majority of the forests were exploited by the first settlers in the production of iron – and of course they needed material for house building. The climate at the time was warmer than today, and cattle and sheep could graze outdoors. ”

    Now Greg,…
If Jesus has not left the church why have you? He is present on every Alter Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity at the Sacrifice of the Mass. I want to remind you Catholic, Orthodox, Armenian, Egyptian Coptic, churches all believe in the True Presence of Jesus in the transformation of the Bread and Wine body to the Body an blood of Christ when the Priest offers the Gifts to God Father during Holy Mass. You cant trade that for Grape juice and Crackers which is what most all other churches believe aka just symbolic. Remember that in John 66:6 those who didn’t believe Jesus walked away. Jesus did not say No! Wait I’m just speaking Symbolically Come Back !!!
    http://www.catholic.com/tracts/christ-in-the-eucharist

Greg I understand your feelings, but remember Satan is in an all out war on the Catholic Church to try to weaken her so much that he can take control of the earth. He managed to get 4 of his pedophile servants into every 100 priests entering the Church. So 96% percent came to serve God and 4% came to build a molest children network in the service of Satan to destroy to the Church of Jesus. Well the Gates of Hell did Damage the Church, but they did not prevail; as Christ promised.

Greg God is still in the Catholic Church I know Because after Confession The Holy Spirit still comes raining the Blood of Jesus on my soul shortly after The Priest says: God the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of His Son, has reconciled the world to Himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins. Through the ministry of the Church, may God give you pardon and peace. I absolve you from your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Greg remember John 20:22-23 When Jesus had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23 Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. Greg Jesus Gave The Disciples the authority to forgive sins and from the Disciples they gave that to the 1st Bishops and as the church grew the bishops gave this authority to the Priest. If God the Holy Spirit is operating in the Church still today why not you?

This is a fight Greg. The Church could split into those who stand on the Truth of Jesus the Bible and the Catechism and those who will fulfill 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit manifestly saith, that in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils. Greg Even ” if ” the Vatican apostatize it would cease to be Catholic it would be a new creature a false religion. The Catholic Church it’s self would still remain Faithful… That is in her body of members , in her priest , in her bishops and in her cardinals and Most of All in The True Presences of Jesus.

We need Strong Christian Men Like you in the Church so consider prayerfully bringing back your 200 pound body of salt back in them pews Greg. God is still here Greg so should you be!

    Your friend,
    Jonathan Knight!

    • Greg Hunter

      Jonathan,
Thank you for your kind words, but my relationship with Christ is the most important thing, not the Catholic Church. By the way I like Catholics and think the Catholic Doctrine is spot on. The Pope–not so much. Oh can you explain this quote by the Pope in NYC? The Pope said, ““The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

“the Failure of the cross.” I can’t be a Catholic with this kind of leadership. Here’s the full article: http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=35894

      In a word, Stunning.

Thank you for your comment, but I will pass on being a Catholic again.

      Greg

      • Sam Thomas

        Greg…

“Humanly speaking,” death on the cross, by crucifixion, was, at the time, the most horrific and dishonorable death that could be inflicted by the Romans. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Son of God, was humiliated, spit upon, insulted, struck, whipped, stripped naked, and hung upon a cross in full public view until he died.

Victims of crucifixion died abandoned, isolated, rejected, much as Jesus did, except for a few of His friends, particularly the Apostle John, and of course, Our Lady. But from a worldly standpoint, his death was a “failure” and it, of course, affected his disciples deeply: all of them were despondent upon his death and despaired for the future, huddling in the upper room “for fear of the Jews.”

“Failure”, disgrace, humiliation, the lowest and most abject forms of agony that can be inflicted by humans upon another; this was all part of our Lord’s ultimate and complete sacrifice on the Cross, which redeemed all human sin from the dawn of time to our present day.

A “failure” it was, from a human standpoint, indeed, but a glorious victory that brought us from a state of spiritual slavery to one of friendship with God.

Does this comment by the Pope make sense to you now? Because that is what he meant.

        • Greg Hunter

          Sam,
If the Pope meant to say it this way, then he should have. He certainly did not leave his message up for interpretation and clarification that he gave to the Muslim faith in the same mass.

hi all. So 500 comments in and nobody’s talking about the website shutdowns.
My web-banking was down last week, at TD bank, the biggest bank in Canada. Coincidence?
Greg’s comments got my attention when he mentionedthe stateside shutdowns. Many of the regular guests warn of such things.
Canuck out, going for a Molson now.

Greg, you do seem overly angry about the Catholic Church. I avoid their organized structure but I do not believe they have a franchise on child abuse or anything else for that matter. Your feelings are every bit as legitimate as anybody’s, however.

I was drawn to 12-step work at one point because they do not allow for the dogma and trappings of a particular religion or belief. It was the first time in my life that I actually saw people live and act like Christians. I take people by how they treat me and others. I became very involved through this program (Al-Anon). I used to chair the Sunday meetings at St. Luke’s Behavioral Center. I learned self confidence and found an ability to help and encourage others.

I wanted to go back to this when my spouse died, felt I could help others and in the process help myself. The landscape there had changed by that time. PC made its infiltration and the gays made demands. I was ripped at a meeting for referring to Jesus by a girl who was Jewish, said she found this reference offensive. I dropped out. Life is too short.

As far back as I can remember, there has been a dueling banjos back and forth between the Papists and the Prods. To me, the thing that sells is how people conduct themselves and treat others. We are a nation of churches, considered the most religious on the planet, but look at how we live. I go by actions.

My neighbor who is helping me is Mexican and Apache. His actions and behavior scream spirituality. He need never quote me anything. I told him at one point: Don’t go gyping yourself because you feel sorry for me.” His answer was that I obviously needed help and he intended to help. I don’t care what he does on a Sunday.

We are a product of our upbringing, and then our own experiences. I would not pretend to know the sum of yours. We are all dealing with the same poisonous stew that is served up to us each day.

One of your interviewers had to shut down the response section on his site because of people going after each other, using his site to do so and then going after him as an extension of that anger.

I wish you and your responders to this site well. It is the only site that I bother to read. I keep in mind that we all come from different walks and have gone through different trials. I can chew someone’s ankle if I feel cornered, but I let it go then in order to preserve myself. At 65, I’m just trying to appreciate what is left.

People, places, and things can still push my buttons. I will not hug the hurt. In my case, it makes me less productive and eventually ill. I always ask myself, “Is that person worth an early cancer?”

The Church did not abuse me. It just plain left me in the dust. I have met one person here in Phoenix who played the organ for St. Mary’s Basilica in return for health benefits. He was one of those sexually abused in the Church. God will sort it out, Greg.

      DLC,
I am not angry about the Catholic Church. I am angry about child rape by grown men who were supposed to protect and nurture them. I am even more angry about the decades long cover-up by the Vatican of these many felony criminal acts. I am not angry with Catholics and believe in the Catholic Doctrine. You are very kind and I thank you for your many comments on USAW!!

Greg and mybfellow USAWDers…you may remember I mentioned working at the post office (and I hate this totally corrupt, incompetent, evil federal org…) Today one of the carriers told those in the breakroom that he saw a team of military personnel in full garb in a neighborhood he was delivering mail to. He asked one of the soldiers what they were doing and was told they were going door to door asking residents whether they needed smoke detectors checked out. Our breakroom group didn’t buy that reason and figure the military is scoping out neighborhoods for others reasons, i.e. guns, food stock piles, etc. What say you all?
Also…an update on the meeting with my city’s traffic committee…we had a huge turnout – around 150 townspeople! All the proposals, except putting in speed tables on roads in front of schools, was shot down. So no highway bypass in front of my home. But that’s if these officials abide by their constituents wishes. We’ll see…I don’t trust them after how they behaved ..ego driven liars who are.sneaky and non-transparent. Oh..but…that’s government’s MO nowadays…what was I thinking…LOL

    • Greg Hunter

      Felicia,
What city and state do you live in? Thank you for the reporting.
      Greg

      • Felicia

Greg, I live in Woodland Park, Co, west of Colorado Springs. As you know…there’s a huge military presence in this area -Ft Carson, Shriever & Peterson AFBs, the AF Academy and what all is housed in Cheyenne Mtn. The former military presence is also large. And a large nbr of them are patriotic, hate what has happened to our nation and have stockpiles of weapons/ammo.

    Greg:

You are right on again, especially regarding the removal of the most important person in our lives, Jesus Christ, our personal Savior.
We can see from history and look back at what has transpired with the Catholic Church: the inquisition by the Jesuits, initiation of wars, and persecution of Protestants. The Bible teaches in Daniel 7,8, 9 and Revelation 13 , that the little horn power will do this again. The victor will be Christ. This was taught by all Protestants starting with Martin Luther and now, today the Protest is over? Was all their faith and belief in vain?
Yet there are beautiful Catholic people who are sincere and loving. The Bible teaches us in Revelation 14:12, keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 18:4 We will need to come out her-out of apostasy.

  83. Doug

Hello Greg, Wow lots of comments on Christ and the church. Kind of a refreshing change from the doom and gloom of markets and politicians.
Aussie Jeff , not sure why you think I look silly to not agree that Jesus was poor and had nothing. Maybe you need a fresh revelation of the King. Greg said he was poor and had nothing and had to borrow a donkey to ride in to town on Palm Sunday. Jesus had to ride the donkey to fulfil prophecy.
Say Greg how about let’s forget about the market stuff this week and bring in a good full gospel preacher and let’s get this party started, might just spark a revival and bring this country back to the Christian principals it was founded on.
    JC Davis thanks.
    Cheers Doug

    • aussie jeff

Hi Doug ….nowhere did I say Christ was poor, however making blanket statements like you did that Christ was wealthy is baseless.
And thankyou for the advice, I’m renewed and refreshed in Christ daily, thanks to His love and saving grace.
I pray the same for you Doug.

    • jc davis

      Your welcome.

Oh God! … pray it isn’t so … Virginia state Senator Dick Black said that “if the US stopped training jihadists and arming jihadists, the war will end” … God forbid that ever happens … for what justification would there be for the US to increase its defense budget? … and all those defense contractors that sell their multi-billion dollar “advanced military equipment” (that does not contain “a one dollar disabling chip” if it falls into enemy hands) will lose an awful lot of taxpayer money … and the politicians won’t have a foreign enemy to yell about “to gain votes” from patriots (who are also considered domestic enemies by them) … etc., etc. … we can never let “peace” break out … we need “never ending” wars!

  85. paul

Tonight is the night … is everyone ready to get “Moon-ed” … Hebrew tradition tells us this rare event … where “everyone get Moon-ed” at once … is a dire warning that other “uncomfortable” events are on the near horizon … total eclipses of such super full Moons are rare (occurring only 5 times in the last century) … 1910, 1928, 1946, 1964 and 1982 … “very near” stock market crash dates.

Tonights Super Moon-ing event (where the full moon looks larger and brighter to spectators on Earth) is due to the fact that the Moon will be at its closest to Earth … after tonight the next Super-Moon-ing “eclipse” event won’t occur until October 8, 2033.

Children should be kept indoors with blindfolds on … as I expect there will be many Moon-ing parties … for those “more mature and tolerant” folks (living in the eastern and central portion of the United States and Canada) will have some of the “best views” of this Moon-ing event … don’t get caught with your pants down!

  86. Farmer Dave

    Quote per CLS 9/11/15
“Friday the 25th a market crash will occur in Germany”
“The German crash is expected to set off a worldwide collapse”
The Pope spoke nothing of this crash on Saturday in Philadelphia.

    • Cryptic Little Sister

Friday morning in Germany, the market had collapsed over 5 percent, strong parties stepped and protected the benchmark index.

The German crash did set off a worldwide collapse–see my post above.

I said clearly that the Pope was being pressured to arrange his remarks around this planned crash. I never said that he would comment.

Many people avoided the markets last week, and they are very much richer for it today. I am proud of what I did to help them.

I stand by everything I wrote.

  87. BetterChetter

“In its religious attitude … the West is extraverted. … Extraversion … cannot credit man with a psyche which contains anything not imported into it from outside, either by human teaching or divine grace. From this point of view, it is downright blasphemy to assert that man has it in him to accomplish his own redemption. Nothing in our religion encourages the idea of the self-liberating power of the mind.” C.G. Jung. Coll.Works 11 Excerpted from Ch. 1 of J.P. Dourley’s “The Illness That We Are” – ‘A Jungian Critique of Christianity’, pg. 7. (BetterChetter – a masculine papal view then, of the need of the papacy, & Catholics to follow their dictates. Was Catholic myself – ’65 to ’77)

Then in J.P.D.’s Ch. 2, pg. 13, “(Jung) … was convinced that the proper function of religion, as of depth psychology, was to provide access to those energies which renewed one’s life by making it more whole, both personally and in relation to the wider community.”
(BetterChetter – as Greg notes, the failure of the papacy to discipline pedophile priests has both fractured the conscience of Catholics [and Christians] & led to a greater divide, which allows further erosion of the Papacy’s stewardship of the earth and its peoples. The RC is a dinosaur, though good people still exist/practice in it.)

    Mr. Hunter,

You have said the truth about the Pope, in reality the whole system he represents. At this point I will show you how the Bible has foretold about this Papal religious political system that was to be so infuencial, actually rule the world. Just keep this 2 points in mind, Papal Rome is
    1) a church= which is symbolized in the Bible by the symbol “woman” ,
    good one in Rev. 19,
    bad/apostate one in Rev. 17, Eze. 16
    2) a city/state/kingdom= this is symbolized by a beast= Dan.7:23 defines the symbol “beast” as meaning a “kingdom”
    3) apostasy= is symbolized in the bible as “adultery”= Eze. 16
    4) in power= from the mid ages onward (going through different stages), this is foretold in Dan. 8 where “the little horn” or “Antichrist”(aka the beast or women.beast) is shown as ruling from Rome during the Mid Ages.
    5) to return= this power is to “revive”/healed during the time of the end(our times), and all the world was to follow after this Anti-christian religious political system
    6) to become a worldwide empire= we are told that this women.beast(church.state, church.city.state, same as a religious kingdom) was to rule the whole world, here the kingdoms of the world are symbolized by 10kings/10horns (this serve the beast).

So putting all together, (KJV should be use for true prophetic undestanding)

Those 5 points, will help you understand Rev. 17 Women.Beast, Babylon the Great, which is a church.state, religious kingdom/Papal Rome that is to rule the whole world(10horns./10kings symbolized the Papal Domain, initially symbolized Europe of the Mid Ages, but will extend to symbolized the whole world). So, Papal Rome is to win the whole world control (that is Papal Rome and USA its front man) as there shown, but this empire will not last but a short time, and will be very unstable. Its demise is foretold around the second coming of Christ (likely within the next decade, early or later… likely well before 2030ad…as such their agenda will not be finished…)

This same entity/Papal.Rome is described in Rev. 13: the first half of Rev. 13 deals with the mid ages rise of the Papal Power as inheritor of the Roman Empire directly from the dragon(the Roman Pagan Empire, Satan), while the later half deals with the time of the end/our times, and gives more details about the “prime minister” of the Roman Empire as the right hand/frontman of Papal Rome being “a lamblike/christian beast/nation, which turns into a draconian/devilish entity, which is USA, this is not told in Rev. 17, yet USA there is symbolized as one of her 10 horns/10kingdoms that serve her). So…only those entities sponsored by USA.Papal.Rome/NATO axis will win, Russia and China will come under the control of Papal Rome/USA but for a short time…because eventually the will rebelled and destroy Papal Rome and USA…
It is all there in Rev. 17= KEEP IN MIND, THE BEAST AND THE WOMEN ARE THE SAME ENTITY…LIKE A CHIMERA, LIKE THE GOD JANUS…TWO FACES, A POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS FACES, OF THE SAME ENTITY. SO WHEN IN REV. 17
IS SPEAKING OF ONE IS ALSO REFERRING TO THE OTHER.

    Rev 17:12-17
And the ten horns(KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD) which thou sawest are ten kings(10 KINGDOMS), which have received no kingdom as yet(INITIALLY ARE REPUBLICS OR CONSTITUTIONAL KINGDOMS); but receive power(CROWNED) as kings(DICTATORS) one hour(A SHORT TIME) with the beast(THE WOMEN.BEAST/PAPAL ROME). These(KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD) have one mind, and shall give their power(CROWNS) and strength unto the beast(PAPAL ROME).

These(THE WOMEN.BEAST/PAPAL ROME AND THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD) shall make war(PERSECUTE) with the Lamb(CHRIST/THE CHRISTIANS), and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful(THE SAINTS).

    ( THEN…)
And the ten horns(KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD) which thou sawest upon the beast(THE WOMEN.BEAST/PAPAL ROME), these shall hate the whore(APOSTATE CHURCH.STATE/PAPAL.ROME), and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

SO WHO IS IN CONTROL THROUGH ALL THIS?
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

FINALLY…WHO IS BABYLON THE GREAT? = THE ADULTEROUS(APOSTATE) WOMEN(CHURCH) AND CITY.STATE(KINGDOM/BEAST/DAN.7:23) WHICH IS TO RULE THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD(SYMBOLIZED BY THE 10KINGS/10HORNS IN FACT IN REALITY 10 WORLDWIDE UNIONS, EG. EUROPEAN UNION, NORTHAMERICAN UNION…AND SO ON=

Rev 17:18 And the woman(CHURCH) which thou sawest is that great city(BEAST), which reigneth over the kings of the earth(10KINGS/10HORNS).

THE EMPIRE OF BABYLON THE GREAT/PAPAL ROME IS THE NEW WORLD ORDER, A ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT AND A ONE WORLD RELIGIOUS ECUMENIC KINGDOM…..A ONE WORLD EMPIRE…A WORLDWIDE RELIGIOUS EMPIRE, IN WHICH ALL RELIGIONS WILL BE PART OF IT, EXCEPT FOR THE FAITHFUL CHRISTIANS…THIS WILL BE PERSECUTED…THE GREAT TRIBULATION, TO CLIMAX AT THE GATHERING OF ARMAGEDDON, AT WHICH POINT PAPAL ROME’S EMPIRE (IN REALITY THE ROMAN EMPIRE DURING ITS LATER RELIGIOUS PAPAL PHASE) IS GOING TO BE DEFEATED BY CHRIST WHICH WILL INTERCEDE AND LIBERATE HIS SAINTS…
    AMEN!!
