What Is America Thinking Coast to Coast?

 By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

I was a guest yesterday on the nationally syndicated radio show, Coast to Coast AM.  It airs on 500 radio stations in America, Canada and Mexico.  I received several dozen emails and comments, along with thousands of new visitors to the USAWatchdog.com site as a result of the appearance.  I love being on the show because it gives me real-time feedback on what people are thinking.  I was brought on to talk about the health care reform that was passed by Congress, but I also touched on Social Security, bailouts and the huge amount of money the U.S. government is spending.  I want to share with you some of the feedback from the show:

“I am happy ….. I now can get health insurance Free!  Free, Free!  Next, I want a free car, and free gas, and how about free food.  Don’t I get to eat for free?  And how about my dogs….. Don’t they get free dog food?  And hey, if I need my roof fixed, won’t that be free too?  We are f…ed!”

——-

“Normally I do not listen to this program, but your commentary on the Healthcare bill passage, Timothy Geitner’s unleashing unlimited spending for Fannie and Freddie, unsecured debt, the National deficit rising $1+ trillion in 1 year, etc. and how you brought it all together…I was captured by your presentation.”

——-

“How is it constitutional to mandate that every American have health insurance? Get insurance or pay a fine (tax) or go to jail.  How did this happen?”

——-

The people that are pulling the strings on America are dancing us into their next show called, “New World Order!”

——-

“With the public distracted and in frenzy over health care, Congress made a big deal about working through Christmas.  They didn’t actually get anything done on health care over Christmas but they unceremoniously allowed Geithner to put in place the unlimited bailout of Freddie and Fannie without the slightest challenge.  It’s almost like it was done in secret except that it happened right under our noses.  All they had to do was wield their influence over the media to keep it out of the headlines.”

——-

“Dooms-dayers! We’re going to do fine. When Palin is elected in 12, we’ll do fine too. America always pulls through every crisis. And people always predict that everything is going to h_ll. But it isn’t. And it won’t. It all works out.”

——-

“Those who take personal responsibility for their health by eating well, exercising, not smoking, not drinking, avoiding risky behavior, etc., will end up subsidizing (rewarding) those who are lazy, obese, self-indulgent, and reckless in their personal behavior. How just, fair, or “compassionate” is it for the healthy and prudent to get taxed or billed to care for the obese, drunk, delusional, impulsive, entitled, and irresponsible?”

——-

“I live in The Netherlands under a similar system so I can tell you that it is not bad.  If you do it right, it can save you much money and improve quality. Health care in The Netherlands costs 9% of GDP compared to 15% in the US and everybody is insured. Most insurers do not make much profit because the competition is fierce… What is the alternative? Let uninsured people die?”

——-

“Your “Prediction: Obama Wins Health Care, Loses Economy” is correct; however, the implementation of this bill is piecemeal.  I think our economy will not worsen or improve as this legislation is implemented.  “Death by a thousand cuts” seems to be the rule for our new Obama economy…”

——-

“Unfortunately, if we read between the lines, I believe this one decision will
do more than any other one act in the past decade to advance the cause of the
coming World Order. . .  I am absolutely APPALLED that true Conservatives do not see this!!!!!…  and why folks like you are not consistently speaking out against it!”

——-

“Could not help but laugh at your story “Spending Money to Save Money”. The comment about the person who says he’s saving you money by buying a bunch of stuff on sale was good. You must be married. My husband likes to tell the story of his step mom’s coming home after shopping one day, talking about how she “saved” all this money on this, that, and the other b/c she got it all on sale…and his dad’s responding, “I don’t think I can afford to keep saving money like this.”

——-

Finally, some 279 people took the poll on USAWatchdog.com.  The question was: “Are you for or against the passage of the new health care reform bill?” 86% (239 votes) were “Against,” while only 14% (40 votes) were “For” the health care reform bill.  That lopsided response was pretty sobering to me and might also be a wake-up call for politicians in November.

To stumble upon this site is like finding gold. Finally, news that is real. You need a radio show.

I think this will cause a huge increase in military size..meaning not as much gear for the troops, and even more overcrowding in country and stateside as well. It’s bad enough as it is and I only expect unhappy troops, worse leadership and more suicides.

    • Greg

      Zack,
You make some good points here!

    Greg,
As the healthcare legislation developed, I questioned why was the congress moving down the road that it was moving. I could only answer this based on the fact that the congress and President were elected with a huge turnout of the younger generation that voted with a large percentage for democrats. But why would the young be more liberal than their more conservative parents?

Could it be that the parents in the over 50 age group were raised by parents of the depression era where you paid for everything or you did not buy it. The kids were expected to work for what they bought. The the generation under 40 was raised by the generation that began giving everything to their kids that they wanted (not needed). Need a car to get from school and back, why pay for a old model, here’s 25K for a new or almost new one. Cloths, no need to go to TJ Max, here is money for the name brand stuff. No need to get a job, mom and dad will pay for anything you want.

So we now have a generation brought up in a society that gave them everything they wanted and that generation is now voting for a government that will give them everything they want, including healthcare.

Who do we have to blame? Maybe it could be the older generation that raised a generation that expects everything to be given to them, like they think healthcare will be free in the future.

      Ron,
      Good analysis!

    • Mark Mudgett

      Hello Ron,

Your analysis is probably more correct than either of us realize. Many Americans live in a cultural realigous mindset. The material and lifestyle expectations that were ingrained by baby-boomers into their kids has become, in a sense, a religion. It is a belief that cannot be substantiated by reality. Beliefs not substantiated by science or everyday repitition are realigous in nature.

It is difficult for me to explain my concept; I hope I got my point across.

While it is said that Nero fiddled as Rome burned; at least Nero did not have the fire brigades using petrol. The lies on health care are so transparent that we consider it grand comedy. In fact, it is a tragedy of epic proportion. It is a theft of freedom, a theft of rights and a theft of wealth.

    • Greg

      George,
“Fire brigades using petrol” is a great phrase! Thank you.

  5. J. Anne Martin

Ever since the Democrats got their “Health Care Reform Bill” passed I have heard Nancy Pelosi and others, including the President, comment on how they have managed to accomplish something no one had be able to accomplish in the past 30 or so years and how wonderful this bill is. My comment is that if it was so sorely needed and is so wonderful, why then is it not good enough for ANY of them, including the President and his family? If it’s good enought for us, it should be good enough for them. Nancy Pelosi was on radio a couple of days ago bragging about the fact that now, thanks to their bill, all children will have coverage, when it actually turned out that they forgot to include this in the bill.

I think that the Democratic party will be surprised when elections are held. They will find out just how incensed the American people are about their health care reform bill and the underhanded way they went about getting it passed.

    • Greg

      J. Anne,
This “reform” is something that America cannot afford right now, that’s for sure. I have to say that we just took on $6.3 in Fannie and Freddie liability and not a peep from Republicans. Both parties are of one body and two heads that take turns ripping us off!
I appreciate your comment…you do make some good points. Thank you.

Here is news of the Third World War. The United States has invaded Africa. US troops have entered Somalia, extending their war front from Afghanistan and Pakistan to Yemen and now the Horn of Africa. In preparation for an attack on Iran, American missiles have been placed in four Persian Gulf states, and “bunker-buster” bombs are said to be arriving at the US base on the British island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
In Gaza, the sick and abandoned population, mostly children, is being entombed behind underground American-supplied walls in order to reinforce a criminal siege. In Latin America, the Obama administration has secured seven bases in Colombia, from which to wage a war of attrition against the popular democracies in Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador and Paraguay. Meanwhile, the secretary of “defence” Robert Gates complains that “the general [European] public and the political class” are so opposed to war they are an “impediment” to peace. Remember this is the month of the March Hare.

    Hello Greg,

Heard you this morning on KSFO. Went right to your site when I got to work. I have to laugh at some of the shocked and indignant responses you’ve recieived, such as this: “I am absolutely APPALLED that true Conservatives do not see this!!!!!… and why folks like you are not consistently speaking out against it!”

I have been watching, listenting, and participating in the resistance and crying, “Foul!” since Obama first began running for office. So it is amazing to me how many people are just waking up to this travesty now and thinking everyone else is asleep on the train.

Keep up your good work. Call it like it is, name names, and let’s hope and pray that this is not the inevitable beginning of the end of America as we once knew it.

    • Greg

      Bobby,
It is not the end but drastic change is coming to the country. I hope people are getting ready for it.
      Thank you for your comments!

I am not against Health care for those who need but why lump us all together.Give to those who need it and leave the rest of us choices.
This is not about Health Care but GOVERMENT CONTROL WAKE UP AMERICA!

    • Greg

      Thank you Carol.

  11. Gene A.

I am an avid C2C fan, and now a 1st time visitor (I signed up for your email blogs)to your site. Your segment on the show was quite interesting. Of particular Mr. Obama’s reversal of his stand on off-shore drilling, and his patting himself on the back for placing 160,000 new jobs in market. One month doesn’t make a trend; besides 48,000 of those new jobs were the census jobs that are temporary anyway. What fools, I am slightly ashamed for my vote last year.

    • Greg

      Gene,
There wasn’t much of a choice. Thank you for your support!!

    Greg,

Just a note of thanks to you for ‘cleaning up’ some of the
not-so-clean language in the comments section. In addition to being offensive to many, vulgar language detracts from the credibility of the post…

    • Greg

      Elihu,
I like it better that way too, but sometimes I leave them in if it adds to the comment. Thank you for the feedback.
