New BRICS Currency Bad for Dollar – John Rubino

Analyst and financial writer John Rubino has a new warning about the fate of the U.S. dollar with the announcement next week (Aug 22–24) of the new BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) currency. There has been lots of speculation about it. Will it work? Is it gold backed? Will it immediately replace the U.S. dollar? 30 countries in all have signed onto the BRICS currency experiment. Rubino contends, “No matter what shape it takes, the new BRICS currency is bad for the dollar. . . . You don’t want to be an enemy of the U.S., but neither do you want to be a target just because you are doing what you think is right in the world. . . then the U.S. comes in and destroys your banking system. That is now a real possibility for a lot of countries. If you take the BRICS countries . . . and you add in all the other countries who want to join the BRICS coalition, and that includes Saudi Arabia and Mexico, you take all those countries together and, basically, you have half the world’s population and half the world’s GDP. So, this is not trivial. This is a major potential currency block, or trading block that is a real threat to U.S. dominance in the world. The sad fact is it’s our fault. The U.S. made this bed, and now we have to lie in it. We blundered around the world starting wars, overthrowing governments and bombing anybody that gets in our way. The world is just about at the point where it’s done. Regardless of what is going to happen at the BRICS meeting next week, it’s part of a trend of countries looking for ways to avoid dependence on the dollar and the dollar centric financial system. We could be seeing the end of U.S. dominance . . . dollars will still be used for trade, but the peak of the dollar could be happening before our eyes right this minute.”
The other thing you cannot shrug off is the inflation the Fed has been trying to snuff out with interest rate increases without pushing it back down. According to Rubino, this is also bad news for the dollar, and he goes on to say, “Even if they don’t do anything (next week) and they just planted this seed, it still started a conversation where people have to learn the difference between a fiat currency and a gold-backed currency. The more people that know that, the better it is for gold because you always come down on the side of a gold-backed currency once you understand it. So, none of this is good for the dollar. Also, when people realize the reason why the BRICS are considering a gold-backed currency, and it is because we weaponized the dollar. So, we are inflating the dollar away, and we are using it as a weapon at the same time against the rest of the world. . . . We pushed Russia into this war, and then we froze foreign exchange assets in western banks. The rest of the world is looking at this and thinking, wow, am I next? Is the U.S. going to do this to me? Maybe we should have this other currency?”
Rubino was one of the first to sound the alarm on the extreme problems in the commercial real estate market. Fitch is threatening to downgrade the credit ratings of some very big U.S. banks. Rubino says, “This, too, is negative for the dollar.”
Rubino also talks about the possibility of a world war, a civil war and a financial crash that is coming sooner than later.

BRICS seems to me to be mostly a trolling operation that mainly targets the hardcore goldbugs to become prophets of doom for other currencies, USD and Euro most notably. A “psyop” of sorts, I guess.
In that regard, note that most of the people who are hyping such a currency start from a position of deep (and understandable) dissatisfaction with pretty much all the world’s current currencies. So much so, in fact, that they will openly trash crypto for being trackable and hackable but then embrace the idea of a CBDC on the other hand because reasons.
Nothing that has been stated about the BRICS+ currency makes sense and most of the countries that are involved are a mess internally, suggesting that even if they can build the necessary trust to start a currency they almost certainly cannot manage it.
A singular example of the nonsense: BRICS will be a “gold backed CBDC”. OK, that’s called a “honeypot”, my friends. A gold backed currency is meant, very specifically, to remove control from central banks while a CBDC is designed solely to maximize the power of the central bank and the government behind it. The two things are fire and water, they don’t mix. To claim that they will mix tells you that the whole thing is a setup and that those not expecting a rug-pull probably are the type to invest in Arizona waterfront property.
When I look at this I see that China’s a basket case in numerous regards and even if they weren’t we’re gonna have to see where those recent floods leave them. Not in a good spot I’d imagine consider the level of obvious lying they’re engaging in about the situation. However, even without the flooding issue, they have a massive housing bubble and would seem to be on the verge of major economic trouble on several other fronts to boot. Their own bankers are now calling for bailouts of the everyday Chinese national. For all the talk about them being the “manufacturers for the world” that makes them dependent on BUYERS. Weird how people who get all hot and bothered about this always talk “counterparty risk” and then forget that there’s an analog of it in trade even where there is no current contract.

Combined this creates the distinct impression that even if they can come together and actually manage a currency, what they will create is redundant and only costs them on the FX market because they have to change currencies twice just to trade with each other and then “import” the profits. They traded an FX issue for an identical FX issue with a new currency that has no history (trust) and is promised to be properly managed by a committee of countries that have mostly shown themselves to be unable to manage the basics of their own country.
The idea of keeping a pool of BRICS just for trade makes zero sense since most trade isn’t government to government but by private companies that then HAVE to convert a goodly portion of that currency into their local currency in order to do things like pay workers.
It’s possible that they pull a rabbit out of a hat but I doubt it. I’d be more likely to trust Bernie Madoff and a team from Bear Stearns to manage my money than to trust the people currently pumping BRICS or any of the governments behind it.
The BRIC currency avoids the need to trust governments or trust the men who run those governments – one only needs to trust in gold (which is like trusting in God)!!

To explain; my oldest daughter works at Big Lots and the shop lifting isn’t stopped or hindered at all. It’s store policy. I talked to a guy about an hour north and he said it’s the same at his Big Lots. How long until the grocery stores lock up the meat in the sale case? Here in eastern Wa. There’s been a huge increase in homelessness and the word on the street is that they have been bused in from Seattle. At the same time rents are through the roof- huge increases in Hispanic looking guys here- when you see 4 to 6 walking together and they all have name brand new clothes,- not a single thing looks more than a few months old- it doesn’t look right. But they are not the ones begging or stealing. They make sure there’s no vacant cheap rentals. Lastly, if you’re a single mom with high rent and tight money and you see people walking out the store not paying for some of same things you buy, how long until you do it too? Lots of ingredients in this cake. I see the images from places like San Fran and wonder when does it come to smaller cities like mine? I wouldn’t want to invest in any property in those areas, and they will become even more desperate- our cities will rot from the inside.

This was really a loving service, for the false teachings and practices of those religionists were leading their followers to the pit of destruction. The people needed to know the truth if they were to gain God’s approval.—Matt. 23:15.
Therefore, it is right and proper to speak out strongly against falsehood and corruption. A person or organization that, in imitation of Jesus Christ, has the courage to do so deserves attention and respect.
