Ben Bernanke 2013 Update: Federal Reserve Will Keep Printing Money & MoreBy Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

The big story, once again, comes from Fed Chief Ben Bernanke.  This week, he did a 180 degree about-face and said the easy money policies of the Federal Reserve will go on for the “foreseeable future.”  Last month, he was talking about cutting back or “tapering” the massive $85 billion a month money printing and that caused a mini stock market crash.  This month, it’s full speed ahead, and stocks and gold are taking off—again.  This looks to me the Fed has lost all control and desperate to find a way out of all this money printing.  If it stops the money printing, we get an immediate crash.  If it keeps on printing money, we put off the crash, but we still get one in time.  Mr. Bernanke also noted that the 7.6 unemployment rate “overstates the health of employment.”  If unemployment was computed the way Bureau of Labor Statistics did it in 1994 and earlier, the real unemployment rate would be north of 23%.  That is according to John Williams of Shadowstats.com.   I have never seen the Fed look this unorganized and disheveled on policy.

Speaking of disheveled, the Obama Administration is postponing for a year a key part of Obama Care.  The employer mandate to provide health insurance for any company with 50 or more employees is now off the table.  Why is this happening?  Look no further than the most recent employment report to find part time jobs increasing and full time jobs decreasing.  I doubt a one year delay is going to reverse that trend.  Many folks I talk to say Obama Care is going to kill an already weak economy.

The “Arab Spring” has turned into the Arab nightmare in Egypt.  The Egyptian President was taken out of power by the military; and now his supporters, the Muslim Brotherhood, are in near revolt.  The White House says the Military Coup was “undemocratic” but is still sending tanks and F-16 aircraft to the Egyptian military anyway.  This whole episode is further evidence that the Middle East is descending into chaos and instability.  The Syrian civil war has claimed the lives of more than 100,000.  Jordan and Lebanon are having instability problems.  Libya is still a mess, and Israel is quietly sitting in the middle of it all.  What could go wrong?

I have a couple of court cases to update you all on.  The surviving Boston bombing brother, Tsarnaev, has pled not guilty to 30 felony counts.  All I can say is this is going to be a very interesting trial.  Then, there is the George Zimmerman trial that is finishing up.  Zimmerman is accused of shooting 17 year-old Trayvon Martin.  Zimmerman claims it was self-defense.  This case has been portrayed in the mainstream media as some sort of white-on-black murder crime problem in America.  Zimmerman has been called a “white Hispanic” even though he is considered just Hispanic.  The President never should have weighed in on this.  Was he trying to divide the country?  Here’s a fact, 90% of black people are killed by black people, according to the FBI.  Likewise, 90% of whites are killed by white people.  This is a totally contrived issue, and I think it serves only to divide America.

    Hey Greg,

For content and delivery – one of your best posts to date. (Well paced and well expressed.)
It’s ironic that the Educational Community doesn’t have courses in “Game the System”, “Systematic Misrepresentation”, and “Look out for Number One” in their curriculums. They must figure that “Experience is the best teacher” after all.

    • Greg

      Charles H.,
Thank you for your comment and feedback!

Thank you for speaking up for the young people today.

When I was young, I worked part-time, and with some help from my parents, graduated with a four year degree and no debt. I hear people say this all the time without looking at the cost then…and now. There is not a good reason for the extraordinary growth in tuition.

Something I would like looked at was a report that I read online that universities accepted kick-backs to steer student away from government loans to the higher cost private loans. If true, all that money should be applied to the student loans.

Lastly, I was at my bank today and saw an advertisement for a car loan at 2.85%. Why are college loans at 7%?

    • Greg

      tsuki,
Young people have been systematically screwed by the very people who are teaching them. Thank you for weighing in here.

Great weekly wrap-up, as per usual. Thank you Greg!

I particularly liked your comment about Zimmerman being curiously referred to as a “white Hispanic”in certain sectors of the newsmedia, a racial category that I myself as a Hispanic have yet to see listed anywhere on any form as an option to be checked off. Then again maybe it’s just the white half of me that refuses to notice it?

This is what I think; I believe that the residual flames of the Zimmerman-Martin encounter are purposely being fanned by vested interests in the U.S. Federal Government via the always subservient U.S. presstitute media (as my great hero Paul Craig Roberts is wont to call them) in order to divide and conquer along racial lines an increasingly hostile internal population that REGARDLESS OF RACE has already started to finally figure-out how badly SHAFTED they’ve been by a government system that threw them overboard 30 years ago already (as my OTHER hero George Carlin was wont to say).

As for Hussein Obankster’s role in the Zimmerman-Martin matter, I’m STILL trying to get over the INCREDIBLY divisive comment he made in regards to how if he had a son, blah, blah, blah.

These are truly Twilight Zone times we are living these days.

Keep up the good fight Greg!

    • Greg

      Mark,
Thank you for the comment and for adding your perspective.

I work in the Human Rights field, and to address your comment about Zimmerman being a “white Hispanic”, some state’s Human Rights laws, such as my state’s, do not recognize Hispanic as a “race”, but rather as an Ancestry. For example – Fidel Castro would probably be considered as “race/white”, and Sammy Sosa would probably be considered as “race/black”, but both are Hispanic. On most EEO designations, however, Hispanic is listed separately as a “race”. It just depends on which State or other legal entity is asking the question.

      • Greg

Thank you Anne Elliott for the info.

Greg. There is a make believe hole in the make believe America where all the make believe money goes. In The corner is a oligarchy waiting to take full control of it all. Yesterday I talked to one of the three smart people I know. He used the (N) word several times when talking about the Zimmerman case. It shocked me to see how someone so informed could be so easy distracted by the MSM defrauding’s.
I am really looking forward to Carl Denninger Monday.

    • J. C. Davis

Ps. Laugh of the day “Israel sits quietly”. Thanks for The truth you produce.

      JC,
Thank you for your comments. I think you will like Mr. Denninger’s analysis of “Obama Care” and the real economy.

Greg, the big boys of Wall Street sure got to Helicopter Ben. The weak little man just needs to own up to the fact he is a Wall Street stooge and that is all he will ever be. More low wage part time jobs out there today than at any time in history and each one is just a ticket to becoming the working poor. Many Americans have figured it out, why be the working poor when you can be the not-working poor, meaning, that low wage part time job just prevents one from being eligible for benefits you could be eligible for under all the programs out there, both state and federal.

One thing you didn’t mention (probably because it hasn’t hit yet) is that oil is north of a $100 a barrel. This will cause $4.00 a gallon average national gas price shortly which can’t be good for the economy; especially the working poor.

    • Greg

      art barnes,
I have never seen the Federal reserve look so disorganized and weak. That is really scary. Thank you for weighing in.
      Greg

  6. Rodster

Well said, Greg. As you mentioned the primary reason the Fed is acting desperate is because they KNOW the end game. They know if they continue printing monopoly money the US economy will crash and collapse. If they stop or pullback or turn off the printing press the US economy collapses.

Either choice will result in a financial armageddon scenario that will affect the entire world. And it’s not only Helicopter Ben who knows this. G.W. Bush, Obama, the IMF, ECB, the BIS (Bank of International Settlements). Everyone knows the global economy is at Def-con 5. All they want to accomplish is to just keep kicking the can down the road and hope they can prolong the inevitable for the next sucker that replaces him.

    • Greg

      Rodster,
      Well said–short crisp analysis.

Greg thanks for another good week of reporting. Greg when you step back and look at the overall picture of everything going on right now, you have to come to the conclusion that the NWO elite are in firm control. A few years ago, I would have thought that was a crazy idea, but If I wanted to collapse a world wide banking system on purpose, I couldn’t come up with a better plan than what they’re doing right now. This endless printing of money by the U.S., Japan, and several other countries will not end well. Lets face it. Socialism worldwide has killed the free enterprise system. And without free enterprise, there are no jobs, and no tax money, period. The government can’t create jobs, because they have no goods or services to sell. Therefore the government has no choice but to keep printing money, because that is what you do when you don’t have any. When you and I do it, its called counterfeiting. When they do it, its called QE. Greg we are in uncharted waters here. What is it they say insanity is? Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result? We’re going to get a different result alright. It just won’t be the one we want, and the one that most people are expecting. That’s Greg for being the watchman of common sense.

    • Greg

Thank you Jerry and Andy B for the comments.
      Greg

    • Rodster

The problem is that TPTB have NO choice but full steam ahead. They could have allowed for a purge of bad debt in 2008 but it would have been painful as in another Great Depression. The problem is they got scared when they saw that Lehman Bros, GM, Chrysler and other were going out of business and they said oh, oh. The end result was we entered a depression but have been lied to that it’s a great recession.

People are taught that a depression is a bad and evil thing but all it does is clear the deck (think wildfire). It wipes off bad credit. If they (Fed/Govt) don’t intervene the economy typically comes back in 18-36 of massive pain. In fact there was a depression prior to the Great Depression no one mentions that was brief and thanks to no intervention it allowed the economy to come back strong before the 1929 meltdown.

What the Fed did thanks to Govt intervention is create a scenario that god willing never unfolds. If it does it will make the Great Depression of the 30’s and 40’s look like a mild recession. That’s what has these guys so desperate. They know if we have a collapse of the US economy it COULD trigger a domino effect and the entire global economy SHUTS DOWN and you are faced with mass panic, violence and chaos around the world.

All of the protest you are witnessing is due to economic conditions. People are fed up and are lashing out at their govt’s. This IMO is what the Fed is (FRIGHTENED) could happen.

  8. AndyB

Greg: there are many of those who already know that one of the FED’s hidden agendas (other than to debt enslave the entire planet), is to incrementally debase the USD, an activity that has been oh so successful since 1913. QE can never end until the final implosion; it’s that simple. The next debt ceiling debate will be just another kabuki dance, but it will be extremely telling if US debt is downgraded once more.

  9. Robert Burke

Ben Bernanke is stupid like a fox. It is very obvious that he and the government knew that the Stock Market were racing ahead of the fundamentals of a healing economy.

They wanted a stock correction to take some air out of balloon, the strategy was ingenious.

The US reported a rare surplus of $116.5 billion in June, the largest for a single month in five years. The gain kept the nation on track for its lowest annual deficit in five years.

The June surplus was due in part to $66.3 billion in dividend payments from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Through the first eight months of the budget year, the deficit has totaled $509.8 billion, according to the Treasury. That’s nearly $400 billion lower than the same period last year.

I am not saying 500 billion deficit is good but there are some positive
indicators in the US economy, even if its a fragile recovery.

I have also noticed that you never mentioned that S&P upgraded the U.S to “stable” reversing the “negative” downgrade in 2011.

Just wanted to point out that not everything is doom and gloom.

    • Greg

      Robert Burke,
So looks like the U.S. will come with a $800-$900 billion annual deficit? Is that the ball park figure you are coming up with?
      Greg

  10. WhiteSnow

Greg….”…unemployment was computed the way Bureau of Labor Statistics did it in 1994 and earlier, the real unemployment rate would be north of 23%.” This is so true and yet no one (except you) will mention this on MSM or even FOX.

I used to say the real numbers on CNN and now I have my own website!! Thank you for your comment.

Here we go again, O signs law giving WH control over all private communications in the country in the name of ‘national security’, he waited to the 5th of July to sign the E. Order! Just more gov control!

The MSM has missed more important stories this week while covering the Martin case. The Gulf of Mexico is becoming a dead zone as a gas well screw up has kelp workers away because of gas around the rig, also a 4 mile wide sheen & a mile long per http://www.enenews.com. Kids in Japan ingesting pieces of fuel rods from Fukushima, this is nuts that the MSM will not report such stuff because we in the USA are being hit with radioactive material every day in some form from Fukushima yet it goes unreported by the MSM, I hope more folks will visit http://www.fukushimafacts.com & help bring the public up to date on the massive failures of the EPA, NCR & the governments of the world to help Japan who have no control what so every of these wreaked nuclear plants!

Now the gov has come up with a 108 page regulations on ceiling fans, just saw it on Fox Biz, these people in congress & the EPA have lost their minds, they let known crooks wall free while calling people who support the Constitution terrorist & bankers doing gods work, we are screwed as nation until the system crashes & we start over & never let a lawyer hold any office period!
Have a great week end, thanks again Greg for fine reporting!

    • Greg

      M Smith,
Thank you for adding the story about “O signs law giving WH control over all private communications in the country in the name of ‘national security’.” I forgot to include this.

Obama on 4th of July: “I can’t believe I have to miss a good day of golf for this crap!”
by Michael Madshack, DP Assistant Editor
    Thursday, July 4th, 2013

(WASHINGTON) — A “hot mic” has apparently picked up some very unflattering words from President Obama this Fourth of July, and may plunge him deeper into some very hot water.

“Hot” or “open mics” frequently catch public figures unknowingly expressing their true feelings, usually with colorful language (prime example: in 2000, then presidential candidate George W. Bush was caught complaining to vice-presidential candidate Dick Cheney that a reporter covering their campaign was a “major league asshole”). However Obama’s “slip” while exiting the balcony of the White House after his fifth Independence Day address may well exceed the average “hot mic faux pas.”

The smaller of Obama’s two microphones, which was clipped inches below Obama’s shirt collar, was supposed to have been turned off immediately after his closing remarks to guests and reporters on the White House lawn. But the microphone remained “hot,” catching the President muttering: “God, this holiday sucks! All this national pride shit get’s on my nerves.”

Obama’s candid comments are sure to further drag down his approval ratings, as recent scandals involving the IRS, the Benghazi terrorist attacks, and massive spying on average citizens by the NSA have sunk Obama’s approval numbers below that of former president George W. Bush. It took Obama thirty seconds before he completely exited the White House balcony and removed his microphone, during which it picked up more utterances by the Commander-in-Chief, none of which pundits view will help his ratings any time soon.

“You’d think we’d stop celebrating the birth of the worst imperial power in history –but nooooo… we have to do this flag-waving bullshit every year,” Obama muttered more as he made his way from the podium. “I can’t believe I have to miss a good day of golf for this crap!”

Although Obama’s presumably inaudible words were not heard nearly as loudly as his official Independence Day speech, a few reporters and attendees close to the speakers beneath the White House balcony heard him distinctly. Obama tacked on a couple more self-pitying quips before removing his clip-on mic, “…Could have been at Oakmont with Jay-Z now trying out that new Callaway set Alec (Baldwin) gave me last year! Damn this day sucks!”

  14. Chuck Allen

    Hi Greg,

The “FED” is a criminal organization put in place and maintained by the terrorist group identified as Congress. Not only have they willingly allowed a private bank to ruin the American economy; they don’t even make any pretense that it is a problem. The Constitution give Congress the power of the purse, not a private bank. However, it does give Congresssome way out, by pointing the finger at the “FED” then it is not their fault.

“Obamacare” is another example of home grown opression allowed to happen by our Congress. This whole communist program could be stopped immediately if Congress would simply defund it.

The problems in the middle-east are again powered by the money that Congress provides for weapons of war that are transferred to countries like Egypt and others. Congress is responsible for all of it.

If Mr. Zimmerman is NOT convicted, the white people in the state had better get their guns out and be ready to defend themselves. The professionally organized blacks just want an excuse to cause havoc and kill some whites. Obama and his DOJ are inciting more racial problems.

Thanks again, Greg, for getting out the “REAL FACTS” for the rest of us to read and think about. It becomes harder and harder to find information that does not have a slant toward some cause.

The only cause is saving America!

    Chuck

  15. George

    Greg,
I heard something about Obama taking control over all US communications. I am not sure what to make of it as Before its news has this story from 11 July 2013.
    http://beforeitsnews.com/alternative/2013/07/obama-executive-order-grants-himself-control-of-all-us-communication-systems-2708546.html

However, it was released 6 July 2012
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/07/06/executive-order-assignment-national-security-and-emergency-preparedness-
Still looking into this but I would love your take on it.

It was originally published in Fed Reg in 1984.
    http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/codification/executive-order/12472.html

    • Greg

      George,
Thank you for talking about this important story!! Looks like time is getting short for a crescendo to the economy.
      Greg

  16. Linda Freier

I would just like to say I haven’t followed the Zimmerman trial. If he’s guilty I hope he’s convicted. I, like Mr. Hunter am shocked that this issue has been construed as a race issue between Caucasions and African-Americans since Mr. Zimmerman is obviously Hispanic. This is just more inflammatory rhetoric to take people’s attention off the despicable corruption in the White House and it’s administration. Beware when they say look at this, it means that yet another scandal is getting ready to break. I think people are reacting to these scandals by protesting and the media are not reporting it.

  17. Fraser

    Great wrap up Greg.

Something I’ve noticed since 2008 (when the US dollar was saved by exporting junk AAA mortgaged backed securities which destroyed the economies of the rest of the world), is that every time the US dollar looks weak we have some major “news event” to support it; such as Europe collapse / Cyprus bail in / Abe economics / war / gold collapse / Fed taper etc, etc, etc…

This is because US hegemony ends the day that the world wakes up and realizes that the dollar is not worth the paper that it is not printed on. So there is a constant battle going on to keep the US dollar high, which allows the printing press to keep running at full speed.

Once you recognize this, the timing of these “news events” becomes comically predictable. The fact that the news is becoming more dramatic and is occuring more frequently means that we are getting closer to the “end game”.

I have long expected that the final trigger will be somehow related to the “true currency”, gold. Whether it be a Comex default, or China and Russia introducing a gold backed Yuan.

But until then, the US is deliberately causing world wide chaos while trying to stitch together trade deals denominated in the US dollar.

Logic suggests that gold will win eventually and US hegemony will eventually collapse, but the world should be prepared for an increasingly desperate US to do “anything and everything” before admitting defeat. Indeed, we should brace ourselves for World War and a US attempt to buy the world’s assets with their printed money, before it finally collapses in a hyper-inflationary event.

    • Fraser

Vietnam, Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Russia and China became “enemies” only after they dared to form independent economic models. Now, “Pivot Asia” is about trade in US dollars (under military threat) and “Africom” the same thing.

The US dollar is soaked in blood, as was the British pound before it.

  18. Troy

Greg great rap up! Thank You.

Question though: How is repeatedly bombing Syria, sitting back quietly? Your a very sharp person in my opinion. It’s the only thing that I don’t understand that you said.

MAHALO for all your work! MUCH APPRECIATE!!!

    • Greg

      Troy,
This is a weekly wrap-up and as of recently the Israelis have been “quiet.” I try not to be a champion for either side in the ongoing M.E. conflict. Peace.

    George
Thanks for the link about the Government taking control of communications. I expect it will only be a matter of time before we are totally cut off. It should scare the bejesus out of anyone who values their freedom, that the government has been allowed to seize this much power. Militarily its like a chess game. You spend half of your moves just getting your pieces in place for checkmate. That’s what this was, one more move. God help us all.

  20. Fred

    Greg,

    Thanks again to your reporting.

For many years the level of despair has been increasing. We know that fiat currencies ultimately fail and often the governments who use them.

For the immediate future, to save the average person the use of alternate currencies (Micro)and methods of wealth protection will need to be institutionally in placed. The Federal government is not likely to be a partner for protecting Americans as a whole, because the trend has been from the protection of insiders and influences outside the country.

The big question is “Does America have the values and legal resources to peacefully reverse the course of history and suffering?”

I don’t think the country as a whole can manage it. The wrong entities have temporary control. The span of control is too large. I am certain the founding fathers never envisioned the country to be of this size or our culture to have reached its complexity.

Here in New Mexico we have a similar problem. The state government was designed for and located an agricultural based economy with a small population. Our state is a corrupt and poor state. Not because of people, but because its organization and structure is ineffective.

I hope that we can manage our culture without having our backs against the wall and bloodshed. Time is running out.

With independent reporters such as yourself, the communication you provide makes a difference. I hope the population catches on at the state level and people start taking proactive action at a grass roots level to turn the tide.

    • Greg

I hope you are correct Fred and thank you for your comment. when the collapse happens it will be global in nature. We will all be in the same sinking boat.

Greg I saw this video on infowars.
It’s another example of how mindless and untrustworthy the corporate media is. Yesterday, a news anchor at a San Francisco Bay Fox affiliate, KTVU, read the supposed names of the flight crew of Asiana flight 214, which crashed last Saturday at San Francisco International Airport. The names – “Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” “Ho Lee Fuk,” and “Bang Ding Ow” – are obviously fake, but the clueless anchor, reading straight from the screen of her teleprompter, didn’t pick up on the joke.

  22. anni

Hey Greg I heard this last week about how deeply in debt the states, counties, not to mention cities across the nation. Could you have someone on to give us the details about this. We know California and Detroit are in deep trouble, but how much is this affecting our communities across the nation.

  23. M.Smith

Greg, not guilty & the MSM has gone nuts, no wonder you left CNN these people have sold their souls to be among the political misfits who make up DC & wall st! The best statement I have heard tonight was “it was you, the media who turned this into a national soap opera” & “then it was made political from the White House”. Now lets us hope the government does not start to use this to cover up their failures on how to restore our economy while the federal reserve banking cartel & its agents again rapes the people of this nation of what’s left of their savings, homes & rights!
GOD BLESS ALL, we Shall Need His Blessings!

  24. MAL

    Greg,
If the Republicans had a backbone which they don’t they would have thrown down the gauntlet filed suit to force implementation of Obamacare since it’s going to happen on January 1, 2015 anyway. As you noted the law was passed by congress, signed by the president and just for good measure upheld by the Supreme Court. What would the Democrats do? Would they attack their own signature legislation? Would they defend the devastation to the economy and health care with mid term elections approaching? Would the Supreme Court debase itself again and rule that the President has the power to arbitrarily nullify the law? For that matter what would the establishment media do? How would they defend their messiah? This government is becoming “Sovietized”. It’s a leviathan that operates on inertia and self preservation without any guiding principle. Remember the 1950’s scifi movie the Blob. It just kept getting bigger and bigger consuming everything in it’s way. It couldn’t think and had no brain and couldn’t be killed. I think their was a hidden message there.

  25. Albert Tesla

    My views on Trayvon….

I have this philosophy, that any man who wishes to engages in acts of violence with another man should only use equitable force as the the other in order to insure “equal odds” if you will.

    Meaning

if two men fight and want to only use fists and not go past that, then that line should be respected

    However….

If two men fight and want to only use machetes and not go past that, that line should be respected

If two men fight and want to only use ARMS (no chemical warfare) and not go past that, that line should be respected, etc etc. lets all it the “man law”

Zimmer man clearly violated this “man law”….Zimmerman picked the fight when he initially started following Trayvon, kid had skittles on him…he posed no threat, and to tell you the truth, if i was walking around one day and felt like i was being harassed, followed, and DEGRADED TO A LESSER HUMAN BEING SIMPLY FOR HAVING A DIFFERENT PHYSICAL APPEARANCE , i’d knock out the man trying to do this to me and make him bleed for thinking he can herd me as if i am his sheep.

And also,Greg, in regards to you saying he’s not white, yes this is true, but i feel like he’s also not your traditional latino by any means, we know his peers and friends in his social life all consist of police force and typical “white power” positions if you will.

To me, this man (zimmerman) is just a wannabe loser little boy who was to big of a LITTLE GIRL to take the BEATING that trayvon RIGHTFULLY gave him.

Most of our fellow men must be stupid…Even the Iraqis and Iranians get it!!!

Now Iraqi’s follow Iranians in Gold rush

How is America any different from Iraq??? We have more people killed in Chicago than are killed in Bagdad. And if the Iraqis and Iranians are buying gold to protect their wealth why do the American’s think their fiat currency is going to be king?

As a black Man, were is the outrage from President Obama and the Media when July 4

      Mike,
Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation and some of the very worst gun crime. Houston TX on the other hand has some of the mildest gun laws and some of the least gun crime in the nation. Go figure. Thank you for weighing in here my friend. We will all sink or swim together as a nation.

    Greg,
Why was Trayvon in the MSM so much and two thugs (17 & 14) shooting & Killing an infant in Brunswick, GA during a robbery doesn’t merit fifteen minutes of collective TV time? Is it because the perps are black and the infant killed is white?

Great point George. Thank you for posting this link. I think the whole Trayvon Martin controversy is a artificial distraction. We need to unite but It seem some want a divided country. We will all sink of float together as a nation.

There is no such thing as a BAD person, “BAD” people are created by MESSED UP SOCIETIES. Don’t blame the product, look at its environment.

A quote from Dave Chappelle – “The worst thing to call someone is crazy, i dont understand this person so their crazy, thats bullshit, maybe their environment is a little sick”

Calling him a wannabe drug dealer gun toting gangster? Maybe he’s just from a world where he can’t ask mommy and daddy to send him to trips or buy him a nice new BMW for his 18th birthday.

The term I’m about to use isn’t mine. It comes from professor Cornel West of Princeton Univ., in a speech he gave at a church in NYC on the 40th anniversary of the Attica prision uprising in upstate New York.
The term is ‘niggerization’ of the America and thusly its masses.
Anybody that’s not part of the financial ‘industry’, is one. Which is most everybody else.
I do endorse Gregs idea of taking money from school endowments to help pay for the obscene amount of money a student has to have incur to get an education, but if it weren’t for that ‘niggerization’ they wouldn’t have to do that.
Put the majority of the blame on the supposed financial services ‘industry’ where it belongs. Then, if any other player in that drama shows they are cuplable include them too and have them ante up to help fix the problem they’ve made an obscene amount of money off of.
Unfortunately, it’s plain and simple thieverey when you strip it down. Which was made legal when the concept of usury laws were jettisoned in the 1970’s pertaining to credit cards.
Obviously usury on it’s surface has nothing to do with college financing, but the concept of a high costs for both which don’t reflect the financial reality of those having to borrow the ridiculous amounts just to go whatever school they choose, and then the just as obscene financing charges on top of that.
The lack of morality when it comes to money lending is obvious.
The lending institutions get the money for almost nothing, literally and then they turn around and have the chutzpah to double up the percentage they charge for it’s use.
Overall it’s akin to what happened to blacks in the south after the civil war when Andrew Johnson took office after Lincolns assination. The economic abuse of blacks, which is no different than what’s happening to college students of all colors today.
Todays is different only in what vehicles were used to abuse their respective class. In the post war south there were debt peonage and vagrancy laws passed by amny southern states to disenfrnachise blacks, which set up those accused and convicted of them to a life of in essence slavery without it actually being called slavery.
Today, it’s the use of a purely legal economic fulcrum of debt to, in essence do the same to college students.
It shows that avarice is still alive and kicin’ but done in a more supposedly ‘humane’ fashion so as not to be detected and dealt with.

Greg… Glad you liked it. I was concerned that Wests coining of the term would offend somebody if they didn’t look past that it went beyond skin color. In some ways I should have thought different given the level of consciousness that one needs to even get to the point of reading what your contributors, bu that’s what I’d thought. Also, I noticed some misspellings. I looked and didn’t find a spell checker. Is there one there that I missed. Thanks.
