Wow, that didn’t take long. Trump shot his wad on day one with all the executive orders, and they figured it was time to return to the Dr. Evil/Mordor stuff on day 2. Soften us up with 24 hours of heavy petting then bring in Larry Ellison to shock us back into hell. That is one scary looking dude, and listening to him talk just makes it worse. I am trying to erase it from my memory. You just know this Stargate thing is tied to Bill Gates, since it concerns vaccines. But Trump and his team begged Gates to keep his ugly mug out of it, knowing how hated he is. Hard to believe Biden didn’t pardon him for being alive. It will be an Ultra-Socialism by Executive Order dictate that will subsume Congressional Legislation powers which they have become from Obama to present day.

Thanks Greg, Armstrong is a headliner guest. A number of dire forecasts- yikes. To offer up one action for folks; we bought a number of 330 gallon IBC and filled them with dried grain and grain mixes. That size tote will hold one ton each. We have them on some dunnage so that a bucket will fit under the drain spout. I modified a small auger and put it on a drill to pull the contents out. The ones outside are covered, mostly to protect the plastic from the UV, but there is also some grey man thinking. There’s two goals here. One is a much lower price for our chicken feed and the other is storage of wheat berries that we can grind into flour. Buying by the ton does require a truck and of course a grain seller. There is a good story in Genesis about storing grain away. And we’re not worried about the bird flu- i think my birds have already had it- we lost one and they are all fine now.

Martin, you left out some crucial details when you mentioned the criminal FDR and his mandatory gold confiscation. The people that obeyed and turned in their gold were paid $20.67/ oz. Upon completion his plan, he then repriced gold to $35.00/ oz which instantly overnight created a 70% loss of purchasing power. That’s criminal. The windfall profits of around $3 Billion doesn’t sound like much, but in 1933 it was like trillions today. That’s not all. That $3 Billion was the seed capital for the exchange stabilization fund, the secret adjunct of the treasury who answers to no one and now has many, many trillions, who knows how much. They are the force behind the rigging of ALL markets. So the FDR story is very diabolical and was much much more than you described.

Economic Catch-22
The Simple View:

We are running massive and increasing budget deficits. National debt has exceeded $36 trillion and is climbing. Interest on the debt is at or approaching $1 Trillion annually.

We are in a “loop” where all these numbers must increase, since even beyond the rising deficits, money must be printed to cover the interest expense.

Snapshot of the current situation:

The Fed has two choices, print or default. Since default is off the table, they will print as the buyer of last resort to buy treasury bonds and try to keep a lid on interest rates. Rising rates are the Achilles heel of the doom loop when the national debt is so high.

As rates rise, government interest expense rises with it, so print they will to cover both interest expense and budget deficits.

What does this likely mean? It means rates should stabilize at least in the short term (until it blows up) but the dollar will get weaker and everything will cost more as printing accelerates.

It doesn’t matter much who is in power with regard to these issues in my view. The only variable is how fast it accelerates and how quickly we approach the point where the system simply breaks down. With regard to most everything else, it matters much who is in charge. Exhibit A is Trump’s first week.

These destructive forces were set in motion by decades of Congressional profligacy. Congress has the “power of the purse” and has uniformly and consistently abused it for short-term impacts at the expense of long term systemic stability.

I don’t think there are any economic unicorns in our near term future. Economic fault lines have built up massive pressure.

We think our “leaders” are “in charge” and can control these forces. In my view, we have moved well past this model: Economic outcomes have now firmly entered the realm of inevitability; they are outputs of a system in crisis, and they will manifest when the pressures become too great and the economic faults rupture. (This is why I question whether a letter from Armstrong…or anyone else for that matter…can change the seemingly inevitable. If he prevents further exacerbation of the dollar decline by foolish policy, that will be a win. But my view is that the FED has no choice in the matter but to step in and buy treasuries, with subsequent consequences for the dollar.)

Enter DOGE:

If DOGE is going to cut…and they should…they better proceed carefully. Too fast will collapse the economy and drive us into depression (because the government is such a large portion of the economy). If they can move unproductive allocations to programs that stimulate the economy and reward capital investment while they reduce the regulatory burden (giving time for productivity improvements to kick in), maybe they trigger a small chance (3 to 5%?) to stabilize the rocketing debt. The only way to succeed is to hit the sweet spot where growth mitigates the cuts after they transition to more productive policies that support rather than retard growth. I liken that to hitting a postage stamp at a thousand yards with a rifle.

So I’m saying there’s a chance…

Either way, we’re in for a bumpy ride.

Pogo perhaps said it best, especially with regard to Congress: “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

How did the fire department NOT KNOW? How is it the fire dept. did not for how long drive around and CHECK the hydrants and the pressure of them ahead of fire season? Then too, nowhere seen is even ONE lightning strike, so far not ONE down powerline. So, how is this a ‘natural disaster’? Rep Ben Sherman from SHERMAN OAKS….who’s first idea was asking POTUS DJT to drop trade restrictions/possible tariffs on lumber RATHER than immediately drop the ‘environmental regulations’ and open up the forests to expand timber sales …while at the same time while in there, clear the forest floor hazards…WHICH WOULD re-create many lost logging, trucking, and mill jobs throughout the industry and especially CA, OR, WA, MT, AK etc.
As to all the money ‘they’ want taxpayers across the nation to fork over, MAYBE POTUS DJT could ‘through an art of a deal’ have California open up and drop restrictions on those gold and silver deposits on its private and STATE-owned lands, and re-open all those mines shut down because the production became unfeasible at $300 per ounce….
Seems, with gold at approx. $2700, any ‘loans’ to rebuild the devastation to L.A., the Paradise area, and to re-gig the water situation to get the lakes and canals and reservoirs back to acceptability for insurance companies, to elevate some of their perceived excess risk, so they might then be willing to to again insure not just structures…. but also crops of droughts?

Senator Feinstein contends that the fragile ecosystem of the desert must be protected from development, but in reality, the areas being placed into park and wilderness closures are not threatened.
In 1980, the California Desert Conservation Area Plan was enacted to protect the desert, and it has been rigorously enforced by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. Furthermore, the designated acreage mentioned in this bill have largely been for sale at bargain prices for over 100 years with no takers because there is absolutely no water or any prospect of water for development. Through a complex series of land exchanges, Catellus Corp., a subsidiary of Santa Fe Pacific, would receive land that contains some of the richest gold deposits in the world. In exchange the public gets seventy-four widely scattered tracts of desert which have found no economic use in more than a century. Catellus owns over 400,000 acres of worthless land in the California Mojave Desert. This land was obtained by Santa Fe Pacific and its predecessor railroad companies as part of the “checkerboard” railroad lands awarded for the building of the transcontinental railroad. Santa Fe transferred these lands which have been for sale for over 100 years, over to its subsidiary, Catellus Corp. In the land swap, Catellus Corp. will receive land from decommissioned military bases. One of the bases will be the Chocolate Mountain gunnery range. Unbeknownst to the public, inside the range is the world’s richest gold rift zone. Geologists estimate that the gold contained in this zone is worth between $40 to $100 billion.”
SO, THAT 40B TO 100B estimate of GOLD in the above article in 2018 about $ 1300 an oz. Today about double that = $2700. and 9X what it was decided not to be feasible at =$300 could mean $80 to $200 billion? And if the price of Gold rolled on to what some predict…who could say what to do with it?

CONFLATING DIFFERENT ERAS TRYING TO TURN BACK THE CLOCK (NOSTALGIA)

America stopped “industrializing” during the inflationary years of the 1970’s ( President Jimmy Carter ). President LBJ’s “Great Society”, a.k.a “Guns & Butter” & huge Federal deficits set us up for high inflation in the seventies.

Yes, back at the turn of the last century in 1901, we were once rapidly industrializing but under radically different global & domestic economic conditions which no longer exist. Today, our consumer economy imports about 90% of the products we use and are dependent upon from abroad. So, we won’t be reindustrializing near enough to change the equation.

Not going to happen as we are too far gone and too corrupt, as well. (Fall of Rome v 2.0). However, there is Hope for willing individuals, as discussed on this site by guest and author, Rabbi Johnathan Cahn.

Again the timeless question (and answer) here is found in the Bible John 3: 4-7 ” How can anyone,” said Nicodemus, “be born who has already been born and grown-up? You can’t re-enter your mother’s womb & be born again”.

So, attempting to turn back the clock makes a nice political slogan (MAGA) but can not be achieved by Presidential executive orders alone. It only goes “so far”. First, “the people” must change their hearts and minds. Then and only then can we have any true lasting Hope.

President Trump is giving every individual American another chance to make things right ( A time limited “Window” of opportunity). Caution: We should not to expect a return to the Pre-Covid America.

After 1980-1983 back-to-back recessions, American corporations of all kinds were undergoing radical downsizing and so began the bigger trend of offshoring (globalization) due to uncompetitive labor costs and Federal and state regulations, especially high taxes.

So, the era of growing global trade ended under President Biden when he summarily had Russia removed from the dollar-based SWIFT international trade & transaction system in 2022. Thus, President Biden ushered-in the trend of dedollarization by “weaponizing” the U.S. Dollar. The genie can not be put back in the bottle either.

Fact is, Russia no longer needs our trade nor investment, therefore tariffs are a moot threat that probably won’t work this time around, in-contrast to back in 2017. Nostalgia is not reality nor makes a great strategy either.

Putin can not afford to back-down in Ukraine without “losing face” or even losing power. Regardless, according to Socrates A.I., World War (III) is probably coming to Europe anyway (NATO vs. Russia by 2028, if not before).

Remember, both Tariffs and Wars historically are HIGHLY inflationary (According to Martin A. Armstrong). Hopefully, President Trump can keep us all OUT of it when it happens, as forecasted. Depression and War would be a possible consequence of President Trump’s stated economic and foreign policies by 2028. So, be advised this would be our “Gray Swan”, as well.
