Re-enter Death Spiral When Iran War Stops – John Rubino

Analyst and financial writer John Rubino is still warning of a currency crisis. He thinks the big run up in gold and silver in the past year are sending a message about the quality of fiat currency that governments print at will. Lots of money will be printed to prosecute the Iran war, and there will be a financial price to pay. Rubino says, “War is incredibly expensive. If the US has to add another $1 trillion to the deficit to finish this thing off, that’s another trillion we have to borrow. . .. So, we are eroding the trust that people have in our big systems. . .. The wars that we have seen lately are making the financial crisis coming our way . . much worse and making it come that much sooner. The more money we borrow right now, the bigger of a deal it is for inflation and currency exchange rate and, ultimately, for gold and silver. Nobody should hope things like this happen, but if you are strictly looking at your own finances and you are a gold bug . . . we are screwing up the financial system that is bad for the fiat currencies and great for real money (gold and silver) and other commodities. . .. There are a lot of reasons to think commodities benefit from this war. I am kind of hesitant to look on the bright side of war . . . but I do think a war time economy is inherently inflationary, and that is inherently good for commodities.”
If the war drags on, Rubino says, “It will make the coming financial crisis worse sooner.” If war finishes soon, can we all breathe a sigh of relief and be out of the woods? Rubino says, “Here’s hoping because that would be awesome. Let’s say it ends tomorrow. Then we go back to what we were doing before, which is bailing out everybody in sight, creating huge amounts of currency and lobbying the Fed to cut interest rates. In other words, we re-enter the death spiral of the world’s fiat currencies.”
Rubino is especially bullish on silver. A year ago, silver was selling in the low $30 per ounce range. Today, even after the big sell-off, it is selling in the low $80 per ounce range. Rubino says you ain’t seen nothing yet. Rubino says, “The silver story is great. More and more industries need it, and fewer and fewer mines are producing it. We have this decision point coming soon where the price is going to have to jump up to reflect the panic buying coming from the shortages.”
Rubino thinks you will be seeing $15,000 per ounce gold and $300 per ounce silver, but he can’t say exactly when. He just knows it will happen because with fiat currencies, history always repeats. Rubino says, “This sounds crazy now, but they are probably going to happen. That is just how currency collapses play out. We have seen hundreds of currencies in human history that have died. Just Google hyperinflation, and you will see a list of name brand countries that destroyed their currency. They rode them down to virtually zero. It’s hyperinflation, and something like that is coming. . .. We should not even think about it in terms of dollars, just buy it (physical gold and silver) to have real money.”

John Rubino’s Currency Crisis is Upon Us NOW!! As Martin Armstrong explains (and what most people fail to understand) is that worshiping a Government Leader (like Trump) is a fools game. As “All” so called “Elected Officials” are put in office to run the Government “To Further Deep State Goals”!! My big problem with $300 per ounce Silver is that most local coin shops won’t be willing to buy from sellers walking in the door. Silver’s at $300? Eh, we’re not buying today. Or we are buying but we’ll only give you $200 an ounce. And we’re only buying 1 oz. American Eagles (that we’re selling for $400).

Historically, gold / silver shops buy back at .86% of face value. That allows them to turn around and sell it back to someone else at 114% of face value. Not really sure why the increased price would change that. It didn’t change when it hit $120 and ounce.

I agree with you LGreene, and I think that is what John Rubino is intending to say. We pay for a standing military and all the associated intelligence agencies and services no matter what. The cost of war is in the bullets & bombs, sort of speaking, and people are considered fog of war by the nation leaders, for the most part. However, The decline of morality of a nation is the real cost as leaders in government take bribes, kickbacks, money laundering and other criminal activities which lead the people in a direction away from God Almighty. These evil activities draw the moral strength of a nation to a low, and affect the people. With the war being handled so poorly (up until the blockade), I have a conspiracy theory that it’s done on purpose to jack up oil price in order to rescue the gold and silver markets in NYC and London which are running out of physical gold and silver as prices surged; too many parties were demanding physical delivery instead of pocketing the profits in paper dollar. Before this conflict began, Central Bank of Turkey was one of the biggest buyers of gold. Last month, Turkey sold 60 tons of gold to get the dollar in order to buy oil (gold price dropped more than $1000/oz and silver lost almost 50% as dollar surged passed $100). Silver shortage in COMEX and LBMA is no longer a problem since other ingredients in solar panel, chips ….. cannot get pass the Strait of Hormuz, silver is no longer needed.
Basically, the objective of this war isn’t about Iran nuclear capability, the goal is to create chaos to jack up the price of oil and dollar index to rescue the lackluster activities in the US Treasury market and the gold and silver markets in NYC and London which is running out of physical gold and silver.
Btw, global Central Bank’s gold reserve was equal to their US Treasury reserve with Au at $5,500. If Au were $15K, that means the dollar will no longer be the global reserve currency (dollar will still be used since too much debts are denominated in dollar globally but the reserve will be in gold instead of US Treasuries), that would also mean COMEX and LBMA likely would have run out of physical and no longer be able to manipulate PMs prices with paper contracts, and that would mean the pricing power of PMs will shift over to the physical exchanges in Asia.

In my opinion the cheapest way to by gold that can’t be taken away is scrap gold. It’s JEWELRY!
One can go to Paw shops and other places where gold ‘melt’ is available at the current spot price. Paw shops have to mail the scrap to get the money they are worth. I think they would be very happy to have there’s sold locally….just another way to protect us.

Silver is not rearer than Gold, the problem is the prize fixing stopped the production, it is not cost effective. Mines are closed, refineries are closed. What will happen is sudden demand for the metal that will produce a spike in prices.
The best spot based on my understanding is that Silver is the metal to be and watch the Gold pricea. When tbe ratio drops bellow the 10:1 you wull be making huge profits. That sudden spike migh push Silver to a value higher than Gold, that is when you do the switch to Gold while people start chasing Silver. The ratio wull come back to its Natural Ratio.
Each one of you have a different plan and demand. Mime is to buy a plot of land with the Silver, not too big to defend, not too small that I can plant and raise some for food and water. Trade the resr into Gold to ford the bad weatber.

In The Art of War, Sun Tzu advises to “subdue the enemy without fighting.” The Chinese will likely not make a move on us unless the odds are at least 90% to their favor. Perhaps even with that odds, they may still prefer to wait us out and win the war without firing a shot. Hence, I believe WWIII is more an economic war, which the Chinese prefer in accordance to Sun Tzu, than literal traditional warfare.
With that said, it doesn’t mean the Chinese will just sit there and watch the paint dry. They are patient and tend to avoid unneccessary risk; I suspect our AI is still way ahead. They will watch us, collect the datas and learn our moves in preparation for whatever may come their way.

I learned this lesson in the early 1990s….The new VW Passat was out and it was a beautiful car!! Very luxurious and was a pack leader. I went to multiple car deanships and each dealership only had a few of the Passats no more than 5 or 6 .They were greatly overpriced at least 30%. So I gave my number to the car dealers and told them to call me if anything changes….Well I ebded up getting another car and forgot about it. Within 2 months these car dealers started calling me about the cars. They were all calling me saying that they had lots of Passats in abd they were priced way below retail pricing….Out of curiosity I went to one of the VW dealerships to see wht was going on with the new Passats. Well when I got there they had thousands of these cars priced at a 40 % discount. It was a lesson I took to heart right away.

Experts at USC and UC Berkeley have already sounded the alarm, with a direct appeal to the White House, saying these boats threaten to cause:
“A cascading failure… the most severe breakdown of the state’s infrastructure in modern history.”

This “ghost fleet” has been allowed to dock in ever-increasing numbers at the Port of Los Angeles over the past 18 months.
Why are experts so alarmed?
Well, it might shock you to discover that despite the fact that California was once the largest oil exporter in the world, these boats are full of imported fuel.
And they’re sailing straight into our harbors from CHINA.
Put simply, California faces such crippling shortages of fuel right now that it’s importing massive amounts of oil from one of our country’s most dangerous enemies.
It’s a crazy situation.
After all, California has the fifth biggest oil reserves in America.
It has so much oil under the ground that there isn’t a single pipeline flowing INTO the state. Eerily similar to Australia! The United States canary in the coal mine!
For most of its history, being cut off from any kind of oil import didn’t matter, because California could pump and refine everything it needed.
But now…Like Australia!
It hands over $60 million PER DAY to oil-rich nations like Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Most of its jet fuel is coming from China and other Asian nations In fact, it produces just 23% of the petroleum it needs.
Yet 92% of its economy depends on oil and gas. Without it, there’d be no Silicon Valley… no Hollywood… and little to no working farmland.
Which means the only thing keeping California’s economy alive is the “ghost fleet” of foreign boats bringing emergency supplies.
In other words…
At a time when Washington is rebuilding our supply chains to be less dependent on our economic rivals – as a national security priority… California is going in the opposite direction! Like Australia!
And one man is responsible more than anyone else… a man I’m certain will soon go down as one of the most hated men in American history.
Governor Gavin Newsom.
Because as the rest of America wakes up to the dangers of being over reliant. on an enemy power…
Newsom is giving away power and control over California’s energy system to China.
He flew to Switzerland to urge billionaires and foreign leaders to “fight” U.S. government policies… and vetoed legislation that would’ve put restrictions on Chinese purchases of U.S. farmland.
And behind closed doors, he flew to China for secretive talks… while organizing meetings in Los Angeles designed to foster greater “cooperation” between California and the Chinese Communist Party.
He has already been dubbed a “traitor” by political insiders.
In simple terms, Newsom has taxed and regulated the oil industry out of existence in his own state.
For instance, he has chased most oil firms out of the state in a mass exodus. Some firms have written down billions of dollars just to escape him.
And he has created all kinds of crazy new regulations designed to target gas stations all over the state. Shell alone closed more than 1,000 gas stations last year. Hundreds more will close this year.
While he flies around the world bragging about progressive, “green” energy like solar and wind… his state is rapidly running out of fuel.
Is he an outright traitor, colluding with foreign powers?
Or is he just economically illiterate?
Either way, it’s clear that stupid Newsom is so bent on “saving” the world that – like so many people across our country – he has forgotten the single most important economic reality there is.
Without a stable, abundant energy source… the entire U.S. economy falls apart.
Right now, that means diesel and gasoline – which are still the heartbeat of our economy.
Newsom can build all the solar panels and wind turbines he likes. He can pay people to drive electric cars – as he has been doing for years.
But none of that keeps planes in the sky, trucks on the road, or tractors in the fields.
Farms… factories… construction sites… mines… manufacturing… none of them can operate without diesel and gasoline.
The same goes for trucks… trains… ships… aircraft… even emergency services and the military. It’s all dependent on diesel.
Diesel moves nearly everything we eat, build, wear, and export. There is no economy without it.
That’s why we consume more than 160 million gallons of diesel per day.
Maybe one day, far off in the future, we’ll find a way for solar or wind or nuclear fusion to solve this problem… but right now, we need diesel. Or we’ll never get there!
Yet stupid Newsom has deliberately destroyed California’s fuel infrastructure, with dozens of crazy taxes, regulations, rules, and policies.
While he dines on caviar at his favorite French restaurant!
I’m sure he thinks he’s saving the world, somehow…
But all he’s really doing is killing the debt based petrol dollar economic system that has made America the richest and most indebtedly prosperous nation on earth!
Worse, he’s turning to our biggest enemies to help fix his mistake.
Newsom is entrusting our enemies with the lifeblood of the California economy.
As one California senator put it,
“If China or Russia decides to pull the plug on our debt bubble… It’s curtains, catastrophic.”

You can’t print energy, like the Federal Reserve can print money. No one can make millions of barrels of diesel or gasoline appear “on demand.”
Politicians like Newsom might like to think they’re all powerful… but they’re constrained by the laws of natures universe.

In November, it was forced to import more foreign fuel than any other month in history.
And this is all building up, inevitably, toward a final, devastating event. In April, another 20% of California’s fuel supply will disappear when a major oil refinery closes. It’s the second such closure in the last six months.
In fact, with these two refineries closed, California is going to have a SHORTAGE of 13.1 million gallons of gasoline every single day.
That shortage is going to bring the biggest energy crisis in decades to our country.
It’ll start in California. But there’s no way we can contain it. Like a wildfire, it’ll quickly spread across our entire country.
Planes will be grounded to conserve fuel. Schools and businesses will close. Store shelves will empty. Farming, construction, and mining will shut down. Trucks will sit, stranded.
This is known as a “Black Sky” event – a total, cascading failure of the energy system.
Diverting millions of gallons of fuel to California will cause shortages and price hikes everywhere else. Especially given there’s no pipeline into the state. It’ll all have to be transported on trucks… which will use even more fuel!
California already uses more than 10% of our nation’s gasoline. The rest of our country is going to have to find a way to fill that shortfall.
But there isn’t enough to go around…
Our national gasoline stockpiles are already at 12-year lows. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is at its lowest since 1984.
We have no real buffer… no way to bail ourselves out… no way to insulate ourselves from the consequences.
Think about it…
Every farmer in California feeds 155 Americans.
Those farmers cannot operate without fuel. The average farm needs thousands of gallons of diesel to operate. What happens when prices double or triple… or when diesel is in such short supply it’s being rationed for military use only?
Who will feed the nation when the farms shut down? Who will fill the shortfalls of milk and other essential staples? Who will restock the empty shelves? The Ayatollahs?

What we do know for certain is that rising energy prices… rising food costs… and crippling shortages are a recipe for social chaos.
Researchers in Cambridge, Massachusetts proved that it’s food prices that trigger riots and violence in the streets. Their models even predicted the 2011 Arab Spring months in advance.
Well, get ready for that kind of nightmare scenario to come to America.
Forget ICE raids or immigration. This summer, I think we’ll see widespread riots across America thanks to massive disruptions to energy and food.
No Way Out
Look, regardless of how you feel politically, there’s no denying the facts…
Gruesome Newsom and others like him have spent the past decade deliberately destroying our entire energy system.
Former President Biden went out of his way to wage a “war” on oil and gas.
As a direct result, in the past decade, the amount of oil and gas invested in new supply has nearly halved.
Even worse, since 2019, 90% of oil and gas budgets have gone toward simply maintaining our output – not growing it.

There’s no way to quickly fix an energy system that has been deliberately starved of money and support for years. New oil wells or nuclear power plants don’t appear overnight. Neither do oil refineries or pipelines.

The Department of Energy is already warning that Americans will experience 100 times more blackouts by 2030. (And we already experience more blackouts than any other developed country.)
At least EIGHT of our government agencies, including the FBI, Department of Defense, Department of the Interior, and Department of Homeland Security, are already warning of a mass failure of our energy system.
Despite the fact that energy bills are rising all over the country, we’re actually closing power stations at a record rate. In the next four years, we’ll CLOSE the equivalent of 100 nuclear power stations or 50 Hoover Dams. The worst part? We’re only due to replace 20% of that supply with reliable energy sources!
No one can fight the laws of the universe. We can’t “print” more energy.
To make matters worse, the next decade is highly likely to be the most energy-intensive in American history.
AI uses vast amounts of power. Each new data center built uses as much energy as a small city. And there are thousands of these centers being built everywhere.
And what many people don’t realize is that these facilities ALL need diesel too!
Every single data center has massive backup generators powered by diesel fuel, to make sure they’re fully operational 24/7.
In fact, there are two enormous data centers in Nvidia’s Santa Clara hometown that are sitting empty as we speak, not for lack of chips… but because there isn’t enough energy to power them.

“At the lowest level – energy – China has twice the amount of energy we have as a nation,” Huang said.
Musk has even called energy “the true currency.”
The problem is… our energy system just cannot deliver the kind of power we’re going to need. Energy prices are already spiking. Blackouts are becoming more frequent nationwide.
Everything points in the same direction.

Stocks were hammered. The S&P 500 Index lost half its value, in real terms, through the 1970s.
But y the end of the decade, the New York Times profiled the small Louisiana oil town of Lafayette, calling it “home of a thousand millionaires.”
It has happened over and over…
When fears that China’s massive oil demand would lead to a “peak oil” catastrophe sent oil rocketing to $148 per barrel in 2007… oil and gas stocks surged.
Economists now believe that energy price spike actually triggered the housing crisis that exploded the next year.
For the past decade, ideologues like Gavin Newsom have dismantled the energy system that made us the richest and most powerful nation on earth.
What’s coming to California is the logical conclusion of those decisions.
No one can fight the laws of the universe. We can’t magically make more energy appear overnight, just because we want it to. Sooner or later, it’s inevitable that our country faces an energy crisis like nothing we’ve seen since the 1970s.

Lots of destruction going on in the world. I was hoping for calmer times. Looking at the precious metals going ballistic and watching the national debt continue to grow is not inspiring confidence. Thank you, John for coming on and adding more things to the information flow.
I support Donald Trump’s war with Iran and I support Laura Loomer’s stance on everything. She is a smart young talented lady who wants what is best for Israel and the USA and I like Trump’s foreign policy. I like Trump’s kidnapping of Nicholas Maduro, I like it when he assassinated Iranian leaders, I like how fishing boats are being blown up. I want him to overthrow Cuba’s communist government, I want the annexation of Greenland and Canada to happen. I applaud his naming of the Gulf of America. Trump’s war on DEI and woke ideology has been fascinating to watch. I wish we had this Trump during his first term and we would be so much more ahead if he acted the way he’s acting now. Trump’s endless struggle against the communist Democrats really made him aware and stronger.
