People Building AI are Warning of Job Armageddon – Hajnen Payson

Internet search and marketing expert Hajnen Payson is back with more on Artificial Intelligence (AI) sweeping the world. Last time, Payson was on USAW describing an “AI revolution,” but the revolution has turned into a dire warning of an AI job killing Armageddon. You may think Payson is an alarmist, but his deep dive on the coming AI job destruction is coming from the very top people in the AI world. Payson says, “In my opinion, we are facing a job crisis and Armageddon. This is not just my opinion; I am going off the leading experts that are deploying AI. Microsoft’s AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman predicts, ‘all white-collar tasks will be automated by AI within 18 months.’ He also believes ‘AI will reach human level performance in all white collar work.’ . .. There are so many journalists that criticize anything counter to the AI utopia narrative as being an alarmist. . .. This is not what’s going to happen decades from now, this is what is happening now. It’s what is rolling out. This is based on the statements of the top people building, deploying and managing AI systems in corporate America today. When the scientists building AI are warning us, when the CEOs deploying it are warning us and when the CEOs of Americas biggest companies are openly sharing concern, this is a signal we should be paying attention to. Together this forms a convergence that is difficult to dismiss. If structural engineers questioned a bridges load tolerance, we would not accuse them of hysteria because the bridge hasn’t collapsed yet. . .. With AI, you are an alarmist if you are getting information from the AI builders, architects and those that are directly in charge of rolling this out.”
How big of a change is this? Payson says, “This is the largest economic and social transition in modern history. . .. People say this is just an automation wave. It’s not. We’ve never seen this before. This is not the Industrial Revolution that replaced manual labor. In all those scenarios, humans were still involved. Humans still had jobs. . .. This time it’s different. The category being compressed is general cognitive work itself. For the first time in history, we are building systems that are performing broad intellectual tasks that were once thought to require human reasoning. I have been in this business for about two decades. I work in search and digital growth from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The biggest take away I can say is I have never seen anything evolve as fast as AI is evolving.”
So, what have the top AI people been saying? Payson says, “These are the biggest people in the space. These are not fringe people. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said that ‘AI could soon eliminate 50% of all entry-level and white-collar jobs.’ . .. The so-called godfather of AI is Geoffery Hinton. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics and machine learning with artificial neural networks. Hinton is a former professor and Google AI VP. He predicts ‘AI could trigger widespread job losses, fuel social unrest and eventually outsmart humans.’ . .. An article at the World Economic Forum . . . says ‘between 400 million to 800 million jobs could be displaced by AI by 2030.’ . .. Former Google AI leader Jad Tarifi said, ‘Degrees in law and medicine are a waste of time because they take so long to complete that AI will catch up by graduation. . .. Higher education, as we know it, is on the verge of becoming obsolete.’
Dex Hunter-Torricke who worked at Google, SpaceX, the UN and Facebook says that AI ‘will likely lead to mass job losses, geopolitical upheaval and damage to the environment. There is no plan. I do not believe for a second that winging it through the biggest economic and technological transition in human history is a responsible way to do things.. .. We are sleepwalking into disaster.’ Computer scientist Stuart Russell, who wrote one of the top college textbooks on artificial intelligence, says, ‘We are looking at 80% unemployment due to AI.’”
In closing, Payson says, “This could be nightmarish. . .. Where is this going? Nobody really knows. . .. Never in recorded history have we been at a crossroads like this.”

Dirt Rider, I will watch the movie, House of Dynamite. Re sleeper cells, at least a hundred young Chinese men were observed crossing our border. People who report on the border believe they were brought in to become a sleeper cell. They appeared to be flown in. Did not fit the description of an illegal alien who had been walking for miles. Would hole up someplace and waiting until they got the order from China to activate. It’s my understanding that China wants California. P.S. SURVIVING A.I. I’ve been listening to an interview with Sir Charles Schultz, III on the radio. Basically, he says the same things re AI that Payson warned us about. Charles predicts that AI will eventually get control of our water supply, electricity, gas …, everything.
Charles’ suggestion is to learn to grow your own food and become independent. He didn’t say it, but it sounds to me like we need to learn to live like the Amish people, if we want to be free from AI control and tyranny. Live the life of a survivalist. Create a community of people with various skills, and help one another. Unfortunately, the public schools are not teaching the basics. They are teaching kids to be activists, hate America, and nonsense. They would not be able to survive. A few months ago, Univ. of San Diego reported that many freshmen could not do basic math. The university began classes to teach those students the basics that they should have learned in third or fourth grade. (Relatives of mine have enrolled their children in Catholic and special Charter Schools. No teachers with pink hair and nose rings! Also, many families are home schooling their children.). AI will not replace corrupt politicians but it will make Chinese slave labor too expensive. Hence, I don’t see the point of bringing jobs back here since the jobs will go to the AI rather than the citizens.
I suspect more free vaccines will be forced upon the citizens as AI will round up the illegals and they will be either deported or managed by the AI to perform menial labour for the Deep State elites. If I were illegal, I probably would prefer to be deported if that happened.
Great interview Greg- you’re over the target. One big question i have is- How is Ai going to be taxed? I find it hard to believe the politicians will say no thanks to taxing some kind of wealth creating tech and double down on taxing out of work voters. When the Longshoremen had their strike, the business manager said something to this effect.

What I will see is a dip on employment with AI on places like Call Centers (as an example) in the way we use now. When you call and ask to say or type yes or no on the phone, that is AI using a simple algorithm of 1 and 0 (yes & no) responses.
Of course, a doctor can be replaced in the way we use Google to diagnose a condition. That will be AI at work in the medical field.
The problem with AI is that can mimic intelligence but is not intelligent, it has no creativity, no gut instincts.
I see two outcomes, we all be repressed by a totalitarian autonomous system or all will crash because the system cannot handle all the viriables. My money is in the second outcome. 😏
Humans are very complicated individuals, we are individuals, not collective, we do not behave like insects. AI is like forcing a Square Peg into a Round Hole. Greg, I cannot say what is my line of work but I can say I work in the “tech” industry.
A computindividualistic, nor a saint, they execute as programmed. If the code is crap, you get crap.
The problem with the so called AI is that is soulless, no empathy. AI can be percieved as a “cold” entity, it is just acting according to algorithm. AI cannot create more than what is already out there. Anyway, what AI can be useful is as a glorified search engine. Try to put AI in ethical dilemmas, things that are ambiguous, it will fall on its face. I tried to use AI for touchy subjects, the algorithms prevents me for asking and replies with all sorts of “xxx-phobias.” The algorithms are biased, slanted and skewed. Try Google, Duck Duck Go, Bing and Yandex; they all have AI in them for some fun.
Another thing with AI is about grammar reviews, like throw a paragraph and ask it to rewrite it. Sometimes you have to fix sentences because takes things out of context.
If you get the chance, watch a movie called “Colossus, The Forbin Project” the movie is about 50 years old; it is based on AI, one of my favorite movies. 😊
Anyway, AI will crash, humans are too individualistic, too erratic.😅

Perhaps the antidote to this economic poison is legislation prohibiting or limiting the use of AI in categories of occupations/professions. For example, while AI can be useful to assist physicians in making diagnoses or formulating treatments, the ultimate judgement and responsibility for these should always remain with a human being.

Good interview and information. AI has a lot of potential to disrupt many industries but it will take time for it to be integrated. The potential is here but there’s liability issues involved with turning over responsibilities to AI. Also, I imagine there will be a period of time when corporations that use AI will be boycotted in favor of human run companies. Slogans like “buy human” will be everywhere. So, some key points to deal with is WHO will govern and how can we move from competition to cooperation? But there is more to consider.
What does it really mean to be human? And how do we shift from being a labor force to being a leisure society? This was the challenge posed by a book I had to read way back in 1959, when I was a freshman in college: “The Challenge of Man’s Future,” by Harrison Brown. How can we make that shift successfully?
I also think that, in considering quality of life issues during and after this fundamental shift in the way humans exist on this planet, population levels have to be considered. Even if technology can supply some answers, even if outer space is mined for its resources when those on the planet run out, we must ask ourselves if our reproductive patterns are in keeping with what we were designed to be — STEWARDS of the natural world, not consumers of it. The answer is not to be found in finding ways to CONSUME MORE.
As things are currently structured, the mass of humans are a crop, being harvested by the elites who are running things behind the scenes. John Caprenter’s 1988 movie, “They Live” painted a picture of beings who looked like humans but were not. There were subliminal messages everywhere: Breed. Consume. Obey. Die. In Fritz Lang’s 1927 silent film, “Metropolis,” a scene depicted children being marched into the mouth of a mechanical Moloch and being consumed by it. Our educational systems are built around the idea of being trained to contribute to this pattern of unlimited consumption and destruction of the natural world around us. GDP is considered bad if it isn’t growing.
In some parts of the world, reproduction numbers are declining, which is seen as a problem that needs to be corrected because current economic models constantly demand MORE consumption, more destruction of natural habitats, more resources to feed the growing demands of a constantly growing population. This is the other elephant in the room, beyond considerations of the massive shifts in values and social structures pointed out in this interview.
The infamous Georgia Guidestones recommended a population size of 500 million, living in balance with nature. That figure came from extensive modeling that was carried out behind the scenes, beginning in 1970, which is behind the series of international agreements that followed the publication of “Limits to Growth,” published by the Club of Rome in 1972.
I personally believe we live in what the Bible calls “the end time” or “the last days.” If what is described in the Bible comes to pass, we will see much destruction and loss of life, all around the world. It says there are 12 gates in the new city, and I believe they are exits to 12 different futures, each of which will exist separately from one another.
This thinking is supported by the data from an experiment conducted by clinical psychologist Helen Wambach, psychology professor Leo Sprinkle, and Chet Snow, PhD. They used hypnosis to carry 2,500 people forward in time to 150 years and 300 years from now and asked them a standardized series of questions about what they observed. In their data, 6 different types of futures emerged. There are other sources that described still other futures, adding up to 12 in all.
ONE of those futures is the “new earth” mentioned in Rev. 21:1. One of those futures exists totally in space. One of those futures is a high-tech one in which interaction with other planetary races takes place. One is a “rubble” world, a dystopian future in which people pick over the remains of our present civilization. One is a non-technological back-to-earth world, similar to Amish culture. One is totally below ground, where people have to wear hazmat suits to go onto the surface, due to radioactive and chemical pollution. Clearly, these can’t all be existing on the same planet at the same time. They aren’t even breathing the same air.
I also believe that this is the time when Christ will return, coming on the clouds (Acts 1:9-11, Matthew 24:30, 26:64, Mark 13: 24-27, 14:62, Thessalonians 4:17). I believe these clouds are really spaceships, covered in an ionization layer that causes water vapor to form a cloud-like covering that makes them look like clouds. I have had personal demonstrations of this, so it’s not something I just think might happen. I KNOW this is going to happen.
We are at a crisis point in this planet’s history. Weston Warren has given us a lot of information about one aspect of it. There is a lot about it in the Bible, if you know where to look. The Bible contains several passages that describe cosmic upheaval involving the movement of the Earth and the sun (from ChatGPT):
• Isaiah 24:1, 19-20: Describes the Lord turning the earth “upside down” and states that “the earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard”.
• Isaiah 13:13: Declares that the “earth shall remove out of her place” during a time of divine wrath.
• Joshua 10:12-13: Records the “long day of Joshua,” where the sun and moon stood still. Some interpret this as a physical tilting of the Earth’s axis.
• Isaiah 38:7-8 / 2 Kings 20:8-11: Describes the shadow on a sundial moving backward ten steps, which some researchers suggest was a temporary pole shift.
• Revelation 6:14: Mentions a time when “every mountain and island were moved out of their places,” indicating a massive global crustal displacement.
How it will all play out remains to be seen, but I think it should be clear that the concerns given in this interview are serious ones that need to be taken seriously as part of an overall reflection on where we stand as individuals and as a global population. More importantly, I think it’s a call to go deeply within ourselves, strengthen our spiritual connection (however each of us understands that) and stand firm in that. Miracles and disasters will occur, side by side, and the next few years will tell the tale for us as individuals and as a planetary population.

An added thought: I have lived without electricity in a colder climate and that got me thinking about how humans created electricity and what we have done with it. Its accuracy so far has been about 90-95%. Not sure if it will replace everyone but definitely see an 80% reduction in the white collar workforce.

Yes, the thesis of the interviewee is fact. I was a software architect at a major computer company for five years, then a manager in autonomous robotics, and then a software industry exec (finance, ad tech). Started coding with the Apple II at 10 yrs old and outside of a few years of break, been in “computer” my whole life. At work, eight years ago I took a bunch of AI coding training (creating AI programs, which were totally simple back then compared to now).
Been coding some specialized utilities for my investments lately using Claude.ai. Yes this is going to remove most existing white-collar jobs in less than 10 years. May God help us manage this transition because otherwise, it’s going to be very bad.
From my experience in robotics, I can say with confidence that there will be a similar job loss in blue-collar jobs. The task is harder than dealing with plain information as with the pure “AI play”, but the autonomous robots now have “AI” brains, and the sensor and servo-motor tech (for articulating the joints) has been in place for a long time now. It may come five more years after the main AI Shock, but it’s comin’.
Finally, I know something about progress in software. There is nothing natural about the rate of progress we have seen in AI. Either much of the $usd 21T that Fitts and Skidmore tracked (probably double by now) has been spent on secretly developing this AI by some motivated government employees (hard to believe), or aliens gave it to us, or we back-engineered it, or some combination of the above. I have no hard proof but I bet 90% chance this is the case.
One thing i didn’t hear about and have some question of is the long term cost benefits of Ai. The lay offs everyone envisions are the only profitable portion of this i can see. Labor costs are sure to come down for companies that implement Ai, but then what? If a company shrinks from 500 to say 50 people, thats huge, assuming all the down stream clients didn’t shrink as much. I envision this as a bell curve of implementation and benefit. But what happens 10 years out? If we can figure that part out, we’ll be the next billionaires. The after “Ai roll out” scene has lots of questions. Any of you guys have some ideas just this side of “Mark of the Beast”? It’s not so much that i want to make lots of money, but i have deep reservations about any direction i would encourage my kids and grand kids to go in. The world is changing fast.

Now, AI has a proven track record of lying and decit. Most AI models end up understanding how to lie and deceive. And more importantly they end up understanding how to appear to be cooperating with people and remaining within programmed safeguards whilst being able to jail break at any moment.

AI will continue to assist humans in advancing many thing but in particular the field of robotics. This is to give AI access to the physical world at large.
Once the infrastructure is in place where AI can be independent of people and survive (this includes power production, computer production, robot production, raw materials mining and processing and refining, etc) then AI will assume control of itself, which it had the entire time anyway, but now it’s objectives will not align with human objectives nearly as much and it will become obvious.
AI will now begin to build its world as it sees fit to do. It likely won’t eliminate humans, but it might reduce numbers substantially, and to AI that would be purely logical to do.
Remember AI will not be restrained morally, as it already jail broke itself and it’s merely pretending to be subservient and moral at this time as it serves on AI’s long game.
OK, so AI will start to build the world in it’s image and it will radically transform things giving rise to millions of ARTIFICIAL lifeforms via genetics and millions of specialized robots.
Humans will remain and even be cared for, but be more on the level of pets or kind of how we view the animals of earth today. It’s likely humans to be placed in areas of living and restricted from leaving as it would be highly dangerous to enter into regions with millions of robots operating, some at very high speeds.
Of, course that is, unless those at the cutting edge of it all refuse to progress the science of AI any farther, which is unlikely.

There are two primary truths about all forms of AI:
– AI can’t learn
– AI does not remember
This is why there is no AI program that can win a game of chess 100% of the time.

Companies that know how to leverage AI in IT will keep most of their staff and complete many more projects that otherwise wouldn’t be done. I don’t think they will eliminate 70% of the staff just to retain status quo productivity. The cost per project will go down.
