Weekly News Wrap-Up 8.1.14

Israel-Hamas War, Russia Sanctions, Ebola Outbreak & MoreBy Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Top story is the Israel/Hamas war.  Now, even the Pentagon is concerned about civilian deaths as allegations of Israel shelling a U.N. facility housing civilians was hit.  Hamas vows to fight on and so does Israel.  Hamas wants its borders opened, and Israel wants the rockets and tunnels shut down.  I predicted this is going to go on for a while and is looking like it may spark a wider Middle East war.  Israel is calling up another 16,000 troops.  Meanwhile, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani is out with new incendiary statements against Israel.  He said, “This Festering Zionist Tumor Has Opened Once Again,” when talking about the Israel/Hamas war.  Rouhani also said ISIL is “a second festering tumor that murders people in the name of Islam.”  Both Israel and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria are potential hot spots where wider war can and probably will break out.

U.S. and EU sanctions increased this past week because of the crisis in Ukraine.  The sanctions are tougher but leave some loopholes, such as the new sanctions do not include Russia’s biggest bank.  I do not think this is going to do anything but escalate a financial war, which could turn into a shooting war.  Russia is mulling a response.  It may include higher prices for oil and natural gas, barring top U.S. and European accounting firms, and targeting U.S. companies doing business in Russia, such as McDonald’s which has 400 stores.  I cannot see how this is going to anything but harm an already sick global economy.  By the way, NATO continues war games in Poland.

Speaking of the economy, it supposedly grew at an astounding 4% clip in the second quarter.  If you add up the first quarter GDP, a negative 2.9% plunge, to the second quarter 4% positive growth, you only get a 1.1% growth first half of 2014.  I suspect this 4% so-called growth will be revised dramatically downward in the months ahead.  Gregory Mannarino of TradersChoice.net told me that this 4% number is fake, and it is faked for war propaganda.  The debt problem in the world is bad and is a daisy chain of defaults waiting to happen.  We have defaults in the EU, and now Argentina, and it’s going to get worse.  Mannarino will discuss all of this coming up on Monday.

The Ebola outbreak in Western Africa is out of control according to the Liberian government.  700 so far have died.  The disease kills 90% of the people who contract it.  Health experts say this could potentially turn into a global epidemic.  Ebola detection kits have been dispersed to all 50 states, but our government says don’t worry.

Finally, the conditions here in the Midwest are lush and green.  They are projecting a record corn crop with averages between 170 to 200 bushels per acre.  The West and Southwest are a totally different story because conditions are extremely dry.  58% of California is at the driest level possible, and the entire state has at least severe drought conditions.  This is also the case from Texas to Oregon.

  1. The Heart

And the sadness of war continues. Now they have killed another reporter. That must really strike the hearts of fellow reporters, eh Greg?

    https://desertpeace.wordpress.com/2014/07/31/first-they-bombed-an-open-market-in-gaza-then-they-killed-a-reporter-covering-the-story-graphic-video/

      The Heart,
He is covering war and that is the hazard. It is a gruesome video and very sad. There have been reports of Hamas rockets falling into Gaza. How about finding the video of Hamas shooting protesters of how it is conducting this war. According to a PA official, 5 were killed and 20 wounded by Hamas. You really need to present both sides if you want to be objective.
      Greg

      • The Heart

        You are right, Greg.

Still trying to find any real proof that it is actually Hamas that is firing any of those bottle rockets into isreal. If you find some film or real proof, please share it.

You say two good men can disagree, and that is true. It is also true that two wrongs do not make a right.

In doing some pondering around this whole divide and conquer methodology, one has seen how devilishly clever the rothschilds that created modern day zionist isreal were in manifesting this one issue that keeps so many so passonatly divided and at each others throats. Truth is the greatest victim here. One has to admire the decievers devilish trickery to use this country and her people to stir up so much disent and hatred. Rational understanding is over shadowed by emotional overlay.

People have to realize the real issues is closer to home and it’s the planned crash of the dollar. The NAU. All these distractions and divide and control distractions are just that. Yes, true, and sad, people are dying. Innocent people are dying all over the planet from the unfairness of blatant war machinery that knows no mercy. No one can stop it with out enlarging the planned world war.

What’s it going to be to cover up the crash? A false flag event? A medical martial law? A world war? God only knows, but what we all know is, the ship is sinking fast and people should be preparing for the worst and praying for the best to come…one day at a time.

You put many links up that have no real vetting or verification. This is why I sometimes delete them. I have no idea if the link you put up is fact of fiction. You have got to be kidding on the rockets. So you are focusing on Israel/Hamas war and you never mention how Muslims are killing other Muslims and Christians in Iraq and Syria by the thousands? Not a problem for you??? Please stop with the anti Israel comments. I get it. You hate Israel.

    Dear Mr. Hunter,
My wife is very good at genealogy so I thought you might find this interesting.

    The name Hunter.
German (mostly Jäger) and Jewish (Ashkenazic): occupational name for a hunter, Middle High German jēger(e), Middle Low German jeger(e) (agent derivatives of jagen ‘to hunt’); as a Jewish surname, it is mainly ornamental, derived from German Jäger.

    • Greg Hunter

      Roy,
I am without a doubt not Jewish.

could it be that we are not getting all the truth with Israel and gaza? realist news talked about a video that a former or active Israeli soldier talks about what is really going on over there. with all the propaganda going on in the msm and what about the industrial military complex or whatever it’s called. trust, i don’t know. it keeps running threw my head about how well the economy is doing. and now i’m suppose to believe what the msm and gov’t is telling me half way across the world.
i hear that we are bringing two americans infected with ebola back to the states on coast to coast, who are in bad shape. are we crazy. are we actually trying to infect us here. i have compassion and sorrow for these two, but leave them where they are at to possibly save anything from breaking out here. strict quarantine is the only way. sorry but for the good of the country you must stay out.
as for as drought goes, we must pray, i’m 60 miles west on that big highway and we are drying out big time and it’s starting to accelerate. good to see where you are it’s lush. thanks greg have a good weekend. looking forward to greg mannarino.

  6. Franken Corn

Nice LOOKING corn, Greg. Too bad though, it’s probably “Franken Corn” (Genetically modified corn). Ninety percent of the corn cultivated in the U.S. is genetically modified. Even the Russians and the Chinese have started to say “no” to GMO crops.

  7. Calmer Heads

Greg – you mentioned that you “took a beating” on the Celente interview, in the comment section. I guess you did, but I’d like to see ALL the comments, including the hundreds, or thousands that you deleted, the one’s you didn’t approve of. Celente is a true hero, and the beating you got was well deserved.

    • Greg Hunter

      Calmer Heads,
I don’t put up comments with foul language and many cursed me and Mr. Celente as well. I also deleted hateful comments about Muslims and Jews. There also some outright misstatements of facts and downright lies. I did not allow those comments either. On the You Tube channel, there are currently 671 “thumbs up” to 137 “thumbs down.” So about 20% didn’t like the interview, but that means 80% liked it. By the way, I did not delete “hundreds or thousands” comments. It was more like a few dozen, but I did not count. I thought the coverage was fair and that is what I try to be. Thank you for your comment. We agree on one thing, we both like Mr. Celente.

    greg;

Nouriel Roubini, Kyle Bass, Hugo Salinas Price, Charles Nenner, James Dines, Jim Rogers, David Stockman, Marc Faber, Jim Rickards, Paul Craig Roberts, Martin Armstrong, Larry Edelson, Gerald Celente and Others Warn of Wider War

Paul Craig Roberts – former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under President Reagan, former editor of the Wall Street Journal, listed by Who’s Who in America as one of the 1,000 most influential political thinkers in the world, PhD economist – wrote an article yesterday about the build up of hostilities between the U.S. and Russia titled, simply: “War Is Coming”. In the article, Roberts notes:

As reported by Tyler Durden of Zero Hedge, the Russian response to the extra-legal ruling of a corrupt court in the Netherlands, which had no jurisdiction over the case on which it ruled, awarding $50 billion dollars from the Russian government to shareholders of Yukos, a corrupt entity that was looting Russia and evading taxes, is telling. Asked what Russia would do about the ruling, an advisor to President Putin replied, “There is a war coming in Europe.” Do you really think this ruling matters?”
In January, well-known economist Nouriel Roubini tweeted from the gathering of the rich and powerful at the World Economic Forum in Davos:

Many speakers compare 2014 to 1914 when WWI broke out & no one expected it. A black swan in the form of a war between China & Japan?
    And:

Both Abe and an influential Chinese analyst don’t rule out a military confrontation between China and Japan. Memories of 1914?
Billionaire hedge fund manager Kyle Bass writes:

Trillions of dollars of debts will be restructured and millions of financially prudent savers will lose large percentages of their real purchasing power at exactly the wrong time in their lives. Again, the world will not end, but the social fabric of the profligate nations will be stretched and in some cases torn. Sadly, looking back through economic history, all too often war is the manifestation of simple economic entropy played to its logical conclusion. We believe that war is an inevitable consequence of the current global economic situation.

    Dear Greg,

I am great fan of you and your site. Many thanks for wonderful articles and awakening common people all around the world.

I am architect by profession and some insight of history.

Historically the best theory of empires are presented by Ibn e Khaldun. According to him when are are at peak of prosperity we have only one way to go downward and when we are at bottom we have one direction that is upward.

According to him empires last for 300 years. British, 1649-1947, Russian, 1681, 1989. Mughal empire 1556-1858.

After treaty of Carlowitz 1699 west became super power. But after 1997 by delivery of Hong Kong western power is in decline.

Debt problem of west will take 200 years or 8 generations to clean up and built great societies once again.

This war in middle-east is a war fought by USA and west on one side and Russia, China and Iran on other side. This war is not for regions but for the supremacy of the world. This war will end only when one side is deal like in ww1 and ww2.

Like ww1 this war is stared by west. WW1 was fought just to destroy German empire of kaiser William 2, as Germany was fast progressing in every field. Present war is to stop progress of China and to maintain status as superpower by force for west otherwise balance of power will shift to east after 300 years. As it was in 1500-1800 when 4 great empires of the world were in Asia. Ottoman empire (Turkey), Safavid empire (Iran), Mughal empire (India / sub-continent) and Chinese empire.

Greg, the Palestinians are somewhat like the American people in this respect, they elected their government and now must live with their policies. You failed to mentioned that the invasion of our borders continues unabated, all the while the Governor of California went down kissing ass to Mexico, probably a small story compared to the M.E. & the Ukraine but I find it interesting that our politicians will make friends with the devil for a vote, ie., the Mexican vote in California & the US for Presidential ambitions. Another thing not on the radar is the killing of Christians in Iraq, the Sudan, and all around N. Africa, where may I ask is our Christian President on this genocide, oh bear with me golfing again., fund raising, playing basketball in the W.H. back yard, working out at the gym, having late night dinners with the elite of the world, etc. ? Notice we haven’t bombed ISIS in Iraq as of yet. Thousands of Christians are being killed, why will the U.S. protect the Muslims at all costs (Bosnia, etc) and not our own? One last rant, they are bringing sick people with Ebola to the U.S. for treatment, did you go to press with the Wrap prior to this follow-up story on the virus? I pray for their recovery, but seems to me, a lowly non-educated worker bee of no count, that its daring fate, but like I said who am I to judge the policies of our learned government officials.

All that beautiful lush green gmo corn and beans. A few minor weeds in the field that I could see. Just like here in eastern Montana…amber waves of gmo wheat, etc., etc…
It has made the farmer’s millions and the corps billions.

All of that fuel burned up forever, so that people who can’t/won’t feed themselves can eat that crap.

Kinda like the water shortage in California…now the craft beer brewers are screaming. Not enough good water to make beer with. It takes 4-7 gallons of water to brew a gallon of beer…hmmm. I wonder how many gallons of water it takes to produce a gallon of gas/diesel?

Great job Greg…good to see you outside. Noticing what is going on “outside” right now may save ones life a bit further down the road.

Many changes going on “outside” right now.

There is no reason to apologize for what you did with Gerald.

I knew that would happen and of course you will get people that will jump on you it.
Gerald is Italian like me and we do tend to get emotional and heated up in things we believe in.

I will be surprised if that video doesn’t top 200,000 views.

  18. FreedomScribe

Thank you for your broadcasts, especially the Jim Willie interviews. But on this last video where you’re holding up the ear of corn, you celebrate GMO crops (corn & soybeans) without either being aware of the drastic negative effects of GMO’s or even that 99% of that midwestern crop is nothing more than Roundup corn, killer of earthworms, pollinating bees, wildlife, and polluter of water, a menace to humanity and Earth. Then yo say, “Fear not.” So, are you Mr. Greg Hunter, part of the Solution or just another messenger protecting the Problem?

  19. Jerry

Wow Greg that corn field looks absolutely amazing. I would say judging by the maturity of your corn, you are definitely going to have a bumper crop. A close friend of mine, who is an engineer for Missouri Certified Seed, recently told me that he expects this years harvest to be one of the best in the last ten years. I sure hope so. The farmers definitely need it.

Greg whatever happens in the next few weeks, do not take your eye off of Ukraine. According to my source, even though the timing has been off, the oligarchs controlling the west and the east are still planning on using a conflict in Ukraine to collapse the dollar with. I’m assuming the downing of the Malaysian airliner in July was supposed to be the spark to set the whole thing off, but they underestimated the stubbornness of Obama to follow the directive . Seeing how Putin is the other puppet on the stage, I think its just a matter time before they bear bait (get the pun?) him into launching a ground assault to drive out the Neo Nazi’s and NATO forces building up defenses in Ukraine. Lets keep in mind, the sentiment in Europe has become very anti American in recent weeks thanks to the Banking smack down in France, and NSA spying in Germany. Probably the only friend we have left in the world is Israel, and we’re doing our level best to take a crap on them.

Yes it should be a bumper crop in August alright Greg. In more ways than one. The American people have been reviling in their self righteous hubris for so long that they can’t see the train coming down the track. It will have been “SEVEN” years come this December, that we started using Quantitative Easing to stem off the effects from the collapse of 2008. What has really changed? Come 2015, the last “SEVEN” years will be viewed as merely a speed bump on the way to the main event.

didn’t berkshire hathaway buy real estate brokerages in 2012 & thus ride the recent wave already?

  23. JM

Greg, have you looked at the corn prices lately? I can’t understand why we are at rock bottom when so many areas are being hit by drought. My part of the country (southeast) is doing great but profits are hard to find at these prices. I’m wondering how much paper corn is out there in order to suppress this market. Can you work that question in with one of your future guests? Thanks

    • Greg Hunter

      JM,
There is going to be a bumper crop in the Mid-West. That’s why prices are down.
      Greg

      • Ugly

Prices are dropping in many Ag commodities. Corn is way down to under $3.70. Potatoes in Idaho are under $4 which is a big loss and not looking to good down the road. Wheat and grains are ok. Sugar is slumping. Alfalfa, which has been good, is now sliding. Beef is good, but with feed sliding this has to be a concern. Beef will probably slide too….

Now farmers won’t be able to afford the fertilizer, land, and pesticide prices. Along with $300,000 tractors and $450,000 grain combines.

I think we are seeing the beginnings to the ends. All of this could see economic calamity because in real, agriculture is the only industry left that is providing real economic revenue….we will see the repercussions this year and into 2015….

        • JM

I totally agree, ugly. I’ve been in ag all of my life and prices don’t add up considering the massive drought out west. We should have a t least a slight up trend in all markets by now but we are trending down.. btw, don’t forget to factor in the high cost of land/land rent. That cost is steadily increasing along with all other fixed costs. I’ll take a long shot here and say that the whole dang market is rigged at this point.

          • Ugly

            JM….
No doubt. My opinion is that many billionaires are investing in commodities now. And in 6 months, whammy! They tripled their income and can now buy up more land and businesses. The system is rigged and we peasants are soon to become very poor….

Maybe we should buy corn and wheat stocks?

    Hi Greg
Sorry to say Israel is toast , never in world history has a country or city state survived when surrounded by enemies . Hama’s has a very inaccurate cheap and cheerfull rocket , in a few years they will have expensive accurate rockets , Israel would never have been born without US Help , when the US economy tanks so will the help . The Ukrain debacle just adds to Israel,s problems , overstreach of the US empire and its ability to project world dominance is coming to an end , just like Rome’s invasion of the northern tribes destroyed Rome’s legions and left them open to invasion .http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Teutoburg_Forest

      Diogenese,

It is for the specific purpose of showing the impossibility of survival – not only of being surrounded; but also being abandoned, to boot – which God will use to prove Himself in the matter of Israel. Your observation is quite correct; only your conclusion is yet to be proved, either right or wrong.

Psa 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Psa 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
Psa 2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Psa 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Psa 2:5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Psa 2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Psa 2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psa 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Psa 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Psa 2:10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Psa 2:11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Psa 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

I just happened to think about this – it’s an old story but it’s still the biggest disaster that a government has ever created that I know of.

    http://www.amusingplanet.com/2012/06/disappearing-aral-lake-and-ship.html

One would think that after knowing that their diverting the water is causing the lake water level to go down that they would stop.

But no – it doesn’t matter what kind of government – all governments are the same in that they are run by people and political parties.
Our government is no different and if given the the chance they will make mistakes as big or bigger then this one.

Even after the lake was gone completely they didn’t stop!

You see no matter how wrong they are they just don’t stop.

So when they say governments are a necessary evil one only has to look at the history of that lake.

This is what happens when you give too much power to a government.

A lake that was as big as one of our own Great Lakes!

“The sanctions are tougher but leave some loopholes, such as the new sanctions do not include Russia’s biggest bank.”

    – The Pentagram (thinks) they have the strategy here, make no mistake. It would not at all be surprising that they have ‘scenarios’ plugged into statistical/probability algo’s to see what the varying outcomes might be for This is a very ‘high-level’ strategic exercise going on and the stakes are ‘high’ to say the least. However, contrary to the 24/7 media blitz against Putin’s Russia, the nation/s who have the most to lose might surprise many…

    – Ebola outbreak? Caution on jumping aboard the ‘pandemic’ bandwagon should be used here. The virus doesn’t ‘jump’ on you unless immediate exposure is present. Scenario’s like this play right into the hands of the ‘cattle herders’. Proceed with (mental) caution…

    – Gaza? What more need be said. Regardless of one’s leanings on who is or isn’t at fault, Israel AND the U.S. are headed for ‘isolation’ – not necessarily for the same reasons, but isolation nonetheless. Pieces are falling into place, in other words.

    – The latest payroll/unemployment numbers? What can one say but, just when (the Fed) needed something ‘serendipitious’, to happen, it magically appears… Funny how that works, no…?

  31. Stephen Clay McGehee

You’re right about Ebola being a serious concern. I am the vice president of a non-profit corp. providing financial and logistical support for missionaries in Sierra Leone. I haven’t seen this reported by the mainstream media yet, but bank runs have started there as the panic sets in (this, from a phone call earlier this morning). Monday has been designated as a “No Travel Day” by the President of Sierra Leone. It is supposedly voluntary. As you can imagine, flights out of Sierra Leone (and, I assume, neighboring countries) are booked solid. Evacuation is great in theory, but there are a whole lot of real issues involved in actually getting someone out of there.

Regarding the reports we keep hearing about Ebola being not very contageous – the missionaries that I talk with and email are telling me a very different story unless the government definition of “intimate contact” and “only through direct contact with body fluids of an infected individual” is a lot different than mine.

The Ebola story is not just about the disease – it is also about how people and governments react to it. This story isn’t going away any time soon. Thanks for covering it.

      Stephen Clay McGehee,
Please come back with more real world reporting, and Thank you for posting here!!!!

      • Stephen Clay McGehee

There is now a rumor going around Sierra Leone that the government is planning to do a mandatory 21-day absolute no-travel order. Their thinking is that by doing so, they can isolate and contain the virus since by that time all cases would have moved from incubation stage to symptomatic stage, so they could then know where the infections are.

Nice idea, but it is totally unworkable. There is just no way to get the word out there. It’s not like you can just make an announcement on the evening news. Yesterday, a missionary was talking to a man in Bo (a fairly large city in Sierra Leone). The man was not even convinced that the virus was real. If that kind of thinking is in the cities after all the government efforts to get the word out, you can only imagine what it’s like in the remote areas (which is the vast majority of West Africa).

Another problem with that is enforcing it. In the previous No Travel Day, simply timing a trip either before or after the road blocks are manned for the day is all that is needed. Even if one is stopped at a road block, a modest bribe is the accepted way to handle things. Corruption is so rampant that it is just the normal way of doing thing. It’s just a part of life there.

If Jesus is precious to you, you will not be able to keep your good news to yourself; you will be whispering it into your child’s ear; you will be telling it to your husband; you will be earnestly imparting it to your friend; without the charms of eloquence you will be more than eloquent; your heart will speak, and your eyes will flash as you talk of His sweet love. Hi Greg,
I meant to send you this post last week.

Thank you for the admonition to ” fear not.” I find that this is mentioned 365 times in the Bible comforting.

I find myself being fearful at times. I’m becoming more politically active. I visit many alternative news sites. I can’t help but wonder at times if any of this will jeopardize my family sometime in the future.

Isn”t there a quote about all that evil needs to prevail is for good men and women to do nothing?

As a resident of California for almost 50 years I have to say that the drought is overstated. I live in the most southern portion of northern California. They have finally put us all on water meters – it took about 15 years and it was done illegally! It was in our charter that they could not but that is another story. I live by two of the largest rivers in the state so why am I on a meter? For YEARS (50+) they tried to build the Auburn Damn but gave in to the so called environmentalist. If we had the Auburn Damn we would have cheaper energy, less the flooding of the late 80’s and early 90’s, more than enough to use for farming in the southern portion of the state, and even excess to sell.

The main problem is that industry and population keeps growing in LA and the Bay Area. Industry needs to come up north and as for the population, it is an illegal problem. It is the cities that are destroying this state. Due to all this and the water California is again raising the issue of splitting the state and if it comes to a split with northern California it just may happen. Norther Californians are nothing like their southern counterparts or the Bay Area.

This could have been minimized ….

Thanks Greg for all that you do for America. But I wish I could say to you, I will Fear not! But I do!! How can we have any faith in those words when our own leaders in Washington are doing everything possible to destroy America from within. Legislation keeping America on it’s knees is being passed, our borders have been compromised, our jobs sent over seas, the very wealth of America has been pill-ford. The state of the Republic is in question and all of this is happening while Washington politicians lie about the accurate economic numbers, regarding how many are employed, how many American’s can not find a job and how many have just stopped looking for job’s. The governments unemployment numbers (in this supposed recovery), are being touted to be in the 5-6% range, when in reality it’s north 0f 15%-25%, or even higher. They just changed the parameter’s to make it look better on the 7 o’clock news. They want Americans to think that things are well in the Republic. They are not!
Just go to the grocery store or buy some gas and see what it really costs. Try to buy made in America products, can’t really find them. Where being outsourced by our own government. Better than that, try to find a job. Americans are struggling to make ends meet, our standard of living has decline. More Americans are on food stamps then ever before. Give thanks to the governmental obstruction in our lives and businesses. If the government would get out of the way, we could turn thing around in this country. All of this takes place while the President and members of congress take there lavish vacation’s. Costing tax payers more money then we will ever earn in most of their lifetimes. Where in debt more than 17-18 trillion. Some economist have calculated that the US debt at more that $250 trillion. And,we still have no budget!
There continues to be a disconnect between “We the People” and the politicians who want to run our lives. They say one thing to get elected and once there elected they forget there promises. The citizens of America were snookered into having to take Obama care. While politicians are exempted from having to sign up for Obama Care. If it’s so great for us, they should have to sign up for the same coverage. If they were forced to have to take Obama care, then they would have to admit that it is full of Barbara Streisand.
Once again it appears that we John and Jane Does are left to manage for our selves. Washington no longer has our backs. Our government in most cases is useless. They refuse to listen to “We the People” or the rules of Law. It appears that they are only interested in taking care of themselves and they do not have the “GUTS” to defend America, the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, let alone defend the citizens of America . They can not even protect our borders and no one wants to address the disaster of epic proportion’s that awaits us from the Fukushima disaster. Can you say RADIOACTIVE FOOD ,WATER AND AIR!
We have elected a bunch of crooks and vipers and they are leading us to destruction. They have taken the Constitution and are using it as a door mat. They allow our veterans to die while waiting to get into Veterans hospitals. They allow the President to run the country by executive orders. Did you know if you collect rainwater in a barrel or you have a garden in your yard, your a terrorist. Go figure! I kid you not.
When common sense is needed, they(congress) abdicated there sworn duty to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all foreign and domestic terrorist. There only interest appears is to get reelected. From where we John and Jane Does are seated, we know they are not doing there JOB!. Yeah,I’m fearful, I’m fearful that America is being fundamentally changed without the consent of “We the People.” Without even a fight!
On another front, this administration is He** bent on getting into a war with someone, anyone. This month it is Russia. Don’t know who it will be next. We continue to support our troop’s. We want a strong military. We also believe in Peace thru Strength! It appears that this administration will not support our allies and any of our countries treaty’ obligations.
I’m fearful that many Americans will not stand up for their Freedoms, nor will they say anything about our first African President. In my life time, Nixon was forced to resign,(still not sure what for) and Bill Clinton was impeached for not being able to keep his pants on. Go figure.
This was suppose to be the most Transparent administration ever elected. What a joke! There’s no question that Obama knows exactly what he is doing. He is overwhelming all of the systems that run America and at the rate he is going, America can not take it much longer, before we collapse. He has learned how to Conquer and Divide a Nation. Our sovereign rights are being taken away from us and given to the UN, all on his watch!. The promise of things becoming better is a falsehood. No more no less.
I love my country but I don’t give a tinkers d*m about this bunch of Yahoo’s in Washington. Indeed they are taking America apart piece by piece. If America is still around in November, we need to give pink slips to those crooks in Washington and toss them out on there rears. Thanks for letting me have my say while I can exercise my 1st. amendment rights under the Constitution of the United States. To many patriots have died for this country, just to sit back and say nothing. We can not let America go quietly into the night without making a stand against tyranny. This is what makes me fearful for the future of this great nation SP

“Don’t Worry!” As you know Greg, when the Government says don’t worry , you better run for the hills. No sane countries representatives would bring Ebola into the homeland intentionally. When it gets here, it will stay. Either it will get out or it is already and this is a cover . No I do not believe the government is stupid enough to intentionally set Ebola loose here but they are too incompetent to keep it from getting away. They will play with it , this will test it, and they will kill a lot of people with it. The CDC assumes everything will work perfect and we already know humans especially CDC types do not work perfect. They simply do not. Bubonic plague imported with many other very bad diseases lives in the little critters in little refuges around the country and that will happen to Ebola if they bring it. Ricen, Anthrax, Smallpox, flu, Radiation and many other diseases have been tested on Americans in America. Short memory’s, in small minded arrogant people think they can do anything. They also think nature will not, to quote Jurassic Park, “find a way”. I personally detest other primates because they are too close to our DNA. I won;t get near them or let kids in my charge near them. A monkey brought a variety of Ebola to American once and we managed to stop it because it had not mutated be able to host in humans. But just give it time. They say Ebola in humans has not mutated to pass in the air. How long will that take passing human to human in a fresh new defenseless population? Not long! This is more scary than a nuclear strike to me. Remember the hurricanes in Florida loosing the big snakes into the Florida swamps. Supposedly they were able to hunt down the monkeys that got loose. This is how it happens. And when Ebola gets lose they will say, ” Well, uhh “who could have forseen this ?” Well, lots of people!

      Coalburner9,

The moment I heard they were bringing the two sick with Ebola – alarms went off in my head. They definitely want to play with it. And it will get out into the wild. Stupidity. Total Stupidity.

Think about it Greg. During Obama’s press conference today he mentioned that we did not have the funds for border control. Why can’t Israel pay for their own defense? The house and senate passed the bill without a thought. They can’t seem to pass anything that is good for our country. It is only 225 million.

Most foreign aid to Israel is in the form of money for arms. A lot of people complain about Israel receiving so much money but most of the money returns to the United States via US arms dealers. It’s all just a backdoor to give out more money to the military/security industry, which is really one of the only manufacturing industries left in the United States other than autos/planes.

Will Man Ruin the Earth Beyond Repair
“A generation is going, and a generation is coming, but the earth remains forever.”—KING SOLOMON, 11TH CENTURY B.C.E.

To the ancient Bible writer, the fleeting nature of man stood in sharp contrast with the permanence of the earth. For thousands of years, generations have come and gone, and yet the planet Earth has proved to be remarkably resilient and stable in its ability to host life—until now.
The years since World War II have been dubbed by some as the Great Acceleration. In a single lifetime, people have seen remarkable advances in transportation, communication, and other technologies, which have brought unprecedented economic changes. Many enjoy a standard of living once thought impossible. In the meantime, the earth’s population has nearly tripled.
All of this, however, has not come without cost. Human activities are said to be pushing the earth beyond its natural cycles. In fact, some scientists say we have entered a new geological epoch called the Anthropocene—an age in which humans are making an increasingly notable impact on the planet.
Sadly, like the global financial debt crisis, earth’s ecological debt continues to mount unabated. Humans continue to consume our planet’s resources faster than these can be replenished naturally. Can something be done? One ecologist frankly acknowledged: “In a sense, we don’t have any clue how to manage the planet successfully.” The situation very much fits the Bible’s assessment: “It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”—Jeremiah 10:23. The Bible foretold man would ‘ruin the earth.’ (Revelation 11:18) Some wonder if we are living in such a time. How much further damage will be done? Is there a point of no return? Indeed, will man ruin the earth beyond repair? Sadly, man has misused God’s beautiful gift to the point of ruination. Yet, the Creator’s purpose has not changed. A man of old said: “God is not a mere man who tells lies, nor a son of man who changes his mind. When he says something, will he not do it?” (Numbers 23:19) In fact, rather than allow the earth to be ruined, the time is rapidly approaching for God to “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”—Revelation 11:18
Jesus Christ in his famous Sermon on the Mount said: “Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5) Later in that same sermon, Jesus revealed the means by which the earth would be rescued from ruin. He instructed his followers to pray: “Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.” Yes, God’s Kingdom, or government, will accomplish God’s purpose for the earth.—Matthew 6:10.
According to his secretary Pyarelal, Mohandas Gandhi, the late spiritual leader of India, observed: “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need but not for every man’s greed.” God’s Kingdom will address the root cause of earth’s problems by bringing about a change in people’s hearts. The prophet Isaiah foretold that under Kingdom rule, people “will not cause any harm or any ruin” to one another or to the earth. (Isaiah 11:9) You can learn to love God and neighbor and show a thankful spirit, to care for the environment, to conserve natural resources, and to lead a life supportive of the Creator’s purpose and be prepared for life in a paradise earth!—Ecclesiastes 12:13; Matthew 22:37-39; Colossians 3:15.

Filmmaker David Walker just said as much recently on Coast to Coast am with George Noory. He also talked about the economy and the banking system and said forces beyond our comprehension, were preventing the powers that be, from bringing about their much coveted world war III. Greg he would make a wonderful guest!

There is no way the economy grew 4% last quarter. They will revise that after Nov 2014. But who knows how it was calculated this time. Maybe it was like this:

(New Method) – ( Old Method) = %Economic Growth. Thus, we have:
    (+2%inflation) – (-2% GDP) = +%4 Growth

You must use the minuses correctly. Also maybe inflation is considered positive now? Thus, next quarter we could growth 15%….

    • wd

Ugly great point…many people don’t know that the GDP was revised about 2 years ago(?). What they did was ADD new categories to the GDP, such as entertainment residuals etc. It is a complete fraud!!

Give this man credit – at least for having the Balls to tell the U.S. what time it is. Israel is a Sovereign State. They have the brains. They have the wherewithal. And they seem to have a man in office who has the clarity to make decisions – regardless of what others think of it – or him. Whether you agree with his policies or not, a man with the conscience of his convictions – and the will to carry them out, Must be respected.

Now then, I also submit that the United States should immediately Cease all foreign aid to Israel. Why? Because they are not some 3rd world back-water nation who cannot exist without outside $intervention. Israel is a technological and business powerhouse. They also have the military capabilities to fend off any attacker in the Arab or Iranian world – in fact, they have the capability to Obliterate them if they so choose. If Israel were to arrive at the misfortune of being taken over, or some surprise attack that rendered the nation defenseless, then I would agree that as an ally, the United States would have an obligation to step in and prevent any further loss or, Obliterate the offending nation, both. That is what an ally does.

‘Allies’ however, do Not dictate the foreign policy of another ally, nor do they interfere with policy decisions via special interest groups (AIPAC). And these ‘policy decisions’ happen to reach well beyond the confines of Middle Eastern policy (Wolfowitz Doctrine). So, leave Israel alone – literally, unless and until the situation over there warrants the aid of an ally.

There are so many brush fires that seem to be started to promote chaos or the beginning of the end, it is difficult to determine the most pressing issues. I am picking the alien invasion of non-American citizens, and Ebola.
If the article from another site is correct, it is not just an invasion of Central/South American people. Supposedly, there are people coming over the border from China as well. It isn’t difficult to add up the issues that would cause a perfect storm affecting American citizens.
I was suspicious of this Ebola outbreak from the start. It was hyped, and still is by the mainstream media. There is a lot of fear mongering and threats to “what will happen” when the virus “comes here.”

This does not appear to be the same Ebola that I read about 10 plus years ago. It was usually contracted by touching someone with the disease, mostly touching loved ones who passed away from the disease. The outbreak was more of a flash fire that sizzled quickly. Those who contracted the hemorrhagic fever in the being of the crisis had a greater mortality than those who contracted it later on in the epidemic. Today, this virus has no boundaries, covers very large areas and large populations and can be contagious via the air. We are told that “it is getting worse.” Patients with the symptoms of this disease are being transferred, over different continents to different countries with the knowledge, at least the hype how contagious this virus is. If this is accurate information, those in political power are once again not only being negligent, but willfully putting populations in grave danger. All indications are that a pandemic is not only wanted, but encouraged. Is this a “new” Ebola? Is there a cure for the few and “special?” Where is the outrage from those in politics?

      Jerry
PLEASE by all means, keep harping on this subject and thanks for all the great links.
You are a veritable mine of information.
This massive increase in bilateral trade is an absolutely critical development in the evolution of the US economy. This cannot be overstated.
It is not only the countries that hate America’s guts that are getting out of the US dollar but most of the traditional ‘lapdog’ followers now as well.

I am going to harp now on my favorite subject too!
The ludicrous model adopted in 1913 where the US central bank is owned by a private banking cartel has to be dismantled. Any other reform in the US is as useful as making adjustments to the evening menu on the Titanic after it had already hit the iceberg.
And what has my rant got to do with the $US loosing reserve status? Well everything actually.
The survival of the FED and its ridiculous policy has only been possible because of this reserve currency status. Most of the inflationary effect of their rampant QE has been exported overseas as other countries have bought US debt and bonds because of the reserve status of the US dollar. Huge amounts of US dollars have until now been held overseas to facilitate trading. This overseas held US currency is no longer needed as the US dollar’s use in settling trade is in absolute free fall.
It has finally dawned on me!
Nobody in the US needs to worry about getting rid of the FED anymore, it will destroyed anyway. This will be done by external forces with the BRICS and much of the rest of the world trading bilaterally and in other currencies. The FED will try to clandestinely hide this huge exodus out of the US currency but the endgame is upon us. There is no way out of this mess now. They tell us they will taper but they won’t be able to [you cannot taper a Ponzi scheme] .

So there you have it! The answer has been staring us in the face all along. The decline of the reserve currency status of the $US will have huge consequences.
#1 It will absolutely force the US to finally live within its own means
#2 It will bring about the demise of the nonsense that is the FED
For me the really scary part of all of this is – WHAT MODEL WILL THE REPLACEMENT CENTRAL BANK OF THE US BE BASED ON?
There is only one thing certain in my mind in all of this – there is not one that exists or yet to be invented that could be more ill conceived than this current institution!

      PS By the way Jerry.
I am coming along really nicely with my singing lessons and have almost got “Nearer My God To The” nailed!

    Hi Greg
Hope you are having a great weekend.
It is pleasing to know that the season is good in your area.
I once again congratulate you on your great site and the reporting you do.
You and your guests and fellow contributors have certainly been instrumental in getting my ‘grey matter’ working and I sincerely thank you all for this.

    Another orchestrated false flag event?
Read the below link – you guys be the judge.
    I know what I think.
Also just my gut feeling, but – expect another false flag event on a much grander scale and probably on US soil this time. My reason for saying this – the lies behind the downing of MH17 are beginning to unravel to such an extent that another event will be needed to divert attention and to further demonize Russia and Putin.
Once again expect the lies and the plot to be equally ludicrous as many of the previous false flags have been. Of course when the conductors behind the shroud also own and control the MSM it can once again be appallingly amateurish and yet still be naively accepted by the sheeple masses of the world.
The status quo is that the MSM reports a contrived narrative, no matter how ludicrous it may sound. They along with the ‘talking head leaders’ of the western world then subsequently repeat it on such a scale that it is automatically accepted as fact by the masses.

I don’t hate anybody on the basis of their religion or color, I judge people by their actions. I am sure that Greg would have received hate mail about the latest Celente interview, but my advice to you, if you have a guest who is a little difficult to handle, move onto another subject. Trying to bring peace to the Middle East, it is like inviting Jews and Muslims to an all you can eat pork buffet.

  64. Jeff

Ebola will be used to control the masses with fear but more importantly give the UN a reason (humanitarian) to step into our country. They, of course, will use the “children” as they always do. Most likely those coming across the border……… a simple script but the people running the country are simpletons……. Of course we will need Marshall law, right ? Still believe we will have elections ? Still don’t comprehend how evil this administration is ? …………..You will.

  65. Claudio

    Greg,

I just watched your interview with Gerald Celente, which I skipped the other day as I’m not particularly fund of his way of expressing. I went back and watched it after you commented on your news wrap-up that you had had a beating from comments after that interview… I had to know why… You of all people!

I’ve never posted on your website, but today I felt the need to tell you that I truly admire your work. Just yesterday I was complaining to my wife that I don’t know from where to get my news anymore. Some sites are too complacent with the establishment, some sites are too conspiratorial, bordering extremist… But then we get you. Trying to lay down the facts you gather –as is– and honoring what reporting should really be about.

It saddened me to read some of the comments you got on that particular interview, where hatred towards Israel and Jews is expressed so insensitively and (IMVHO) devoid of true understanding to the complexity of the situation. I happen to have worked in Israel for over 10 years and dare not pass judgement after what I saw and experienced there.

Anyhow, if I thought highly of you in the past, my thoughts have only strengthened. You are an outstanding reporter, and I thank you for your professionalism. I now know that I can get my news from you.

    Keep up the good work!
    Claudio.

    • Greg Hunter

      Thank you Claudio,

You made the beating worthwhile my friend!! I am just trying to report both sides. This is a very ugly situation and I feel for both sides.

      Greg

Wait until ISIS and the rest of those groups join Hamas. Israel is cornered, and they know it. Also, can the US stop giving these bums money. If you want to fight a war fight it with your own money, not mine. I don’t work and pay taxes so Israel can bomb Gaza to the stone ages. Israel has a right to defend itself, I agree, but stop mooching off us. Every body screams bloody horror when they read of people working the system and collecting welfare here in the US but don’t care that the US is giving their tax dollars to Israel. Go figure.
There will be no crash before the November elections, in my opinion. The Democrats and the people who run the system will not allow it. I can only see a stock market crash if something comes out of left field and it’s beyond their control. For now it’s party time. They will print whatever number they want, as long as it shows that the economy is getting better.
Greg, you and other people fail to grasp that Putin is in on the con as well. All of the leaders are playing their respective role in this little drama. That is why the sanctions don’t target Putin. It’s all kabuki theater to keep the masses complacent. The elites have decided that it is time for the East to take control. It’s over for the West; the carcass has been picked dry. What will happen is the East will get rid of everything that is associated with the West. McDonald’s will be driven out of the East, and every other Western establishment. Visa is another example. The Russian oligarchs are using credit cards issued by China.
There is no good guy in this drama. They are all crooks working for the same boss.

    Greg,
I went shopping and in my change was one coin that was the gold plated Presidential coin with value $1….that was my first one….what I saw missing on these coins were:

    In God We Trust
    Liberty
    E Pluribus Unum

I googled this and it says the $1 Presidential coins were first issued in 2007 and will end 2016. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but those dates are interesting. In 2007, the housing, banking, and dollar had collapsed. Thus came the printings and propped up economy. The 2016 appears to be a date many fear we will no longer elect a President because by then we will have a collapse, wars, civil unrest, and possibly martial law….

I find it interesting that God and Liberty are left off the coins….

What say you or anybody? Just a coincidence, or is there meaning to this….

    • S m o k e i n g K I L LS

      It’s just a coincidence lightning struck the primordial soup and your hear today, ha ha ha, l o l . A R M A _ G E T T I N _ O U T A _ H E R E !

The history timeline of Israel is easy to understand , Israel was invented by the UN in 1947 , no one asked the people or governments of trans Jordan if they minded , it was imposed by the U N , Winston Churchill warned that there would be war , no one listned , outcome war .
As for the biblical stance I suggest you read Mark 15 / 37 on , Matthew 27/31 on , God left the holy of holies immediately after Christ died on the cross , ripping the veil from top to bottom , IMHO this was God abandoning Israel to its fate , he did not interveen when Rome sacked Jerusalem burned HIS temple and caused the diaspora . God always sent a profit to lead the Jews back to Israel in the old testament , the UN ain’t a profit in my thinking !.
How long after the USA,s collapse do you think they will keep receiving the $3 billion aid and what will it buy ? Israel is between a rock and a hard place , to their north east they have ISIS or whatever they call themselves today , they have no country they have no cities that Israel can threaten , they have vast quantities of US equipment abandoned / gave to Iraq , in time it will find its way to Palestine , ISIS wants all the Levant, Israel is part of the Levant . ISIS has nothing to loose and everything to gain , it must be destroyed by internal conflict , anything else is just a recruiting poster for suicide bombers .Nuking Damascus or Terhan costs them NOTHING .
Now for the Ukraine , NATO can do nothing there , Russia has stated for thirty years that they would go nuclear if attacked , staging NATO troops in the border regions just makes a nice fat target , Europe could probably last three weeks before suing for peace , their economies would fall apart without Russian energy supplies, ya can’t fight a mechanised war without gas , as Hittler found out at the battle of the bulge . Americas pushing for war with Russia if it happens will destroy NATO and leave Europe in the hands of Russia. This blustering has already doomed Europe to a slow death relying as in the olden days of sailing ships beholding to the wind , Russia is building pipelines east and south , to China and India , as euro gas contracts run out they will not be renewed , Russia has found a new market for its energy .Russia will not give succor to its precieved enemies.

      Diogenese

You said, “IMHO this was God abandoning Israel to its fate.” I don’t think Israel will fall at least according to the Bible that I read.
      Greg

    • Ugly

      Diogenese….

You are right in that All Nations will go against Israel. This event is called Armageddon. It is in the valley of Megiddo, which I believe is in modern day Syria….on Israel, read Romans 11:25 for starters….good luck to all….

    • Charles H.

      Diogenese,

The tearing of the Temple Veil – was a sign that the way into the Holiest was made toward all peoples by the blood of Jesus Christ – meaning Salvation by Grace through (Biblical) Faith was opened to both Jew and Gentile (everyone, potentially). The High Priest entered with blood to make atonement for the people and himself; as this is a type and foreshadowing of the True sacrifice which Jesus Christ made Himself for the sin of the world.
And prophesy ended with the completion of Holy Scripture written by God through the disciples and Apostles. God was active during the destruction of the temple and diaspora: but not in rescuing territory – in rescuing souls from eternal condemnation. Humanly speaking – such work is both broader and more valuable.
There is a difference with being set aside; and being abandoned. You seem bent on trying to prove Israel has been abandoned by God. Not so. If you search Scripture with the purpose of finding some pretext proving your conclusion: you are going to continue to mis-interpret Scripture. Christianity does not replace Old Testament Law or the Covenants: it is a fulfillment of a continuation. God’s words or promises are not nullified by time or inaction. There is yet more tribulation and then restoration for Israel. God always seems to deal with a minority, a remnant. In this dispensation – Jews and Gentiles that reject Jesus Christ will perish; while those who are saved will gain Heaven. But Israel, as a nation and the smallest of peoples in the earth, will God restore – upholding His Word and the Remnant of His people.

      • Diogenese

I agree God will restore a remnant of his people At a time OF HIS TUESING , not that of the UN or popular demand .

Colin, there’s no doubt we see another false flag. I believe it will be much bigger than anyone expects. My reasons are that there is so much that needs to be hidden (financially, politically, economically). To get everyone’s eyes off the corruption demands it. The stock market it so over valued it would fall and completely destroy confidence/economy. An economy that can’t stand alone even at zero % rates and $trillions printed. Add the timing if a collapse in the dollar. Throw in a great time to hid/ignore an empty Ft Knox (gold). And of course the coming elections that might throw a wrench in all these plans. That alone should tell you this is coming before Nov…… Do you all remember what the collapse of ’09 did to confidence ? They can not let this happen on it’s own…..And to give Nobama cover and a reason for war/martial law it needs to be big……It also needs to be the big lie that Putin caused it……. My guess (as wild as it might sound) is an EMP attack. Throw in a little epidemic or two and like I said before, give Nobama an excuse to bring in UN “helpers”……This scenario covers all the needs for a successful executive takeover, war with Russia and losing our sovereignty to the UN would be icing on the cake…..And, of course, a falling stock market/economy would have the war excuse and let the FED off the hook again…….. With everyone losing everything the (ignorant) masses would turn to their savior.

  70. Brian

    Greg,

It wasn’t you or Gerald, but the topic that brought out all of that nastiness. Everywhere the conflict is discussed, people are at each other’s throats.

But on a happier note, congrats on that beautiful corn. I grew up in a rural farming part of MD. Isn’t it crazy that when you have your best growing season, the prices are lowest? The smarter farmers I knew made their money on commodities options.

  71. Diogenese

Christ said I am the way the truth and the light NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER ACCEPT THROUGH ME .John 14: 6 this was Christ talking to his deciples all of which were jewish converts to Christ . I think this makes it quite plain , Hebrews 9:15
    Matthew 5:17
    Luke 22: 20
Christ fulfilled the old covenant and brought a new one .
