At the Beginning of Credit Destruction Cycle – Ed Dowd

Former Wall Street money manager and financial analyst Ed Dowd of PhinanceTechnologies.com warned in September we were at the “Beginning of Panic Rate Cut Cycle.” Since that prediction, the Fed has cut interest rates three times. Looks like Dowd called it correctly. So, when does the panic kick in? Dowd says, “The panic kicks in when there is some sort of banking wobble or stock market wobble, which is in the process of setting up. Private credit is the first to show problems. We had Tricolor Holdings (subprime auto lending bankruptcy) go poof. We had First Brands (bankruptcy) go poof. This is all private credit. We have had other lenders like PrimaLend (bankruptcy) starting to go poof. Private credit is just like subprime. It not a very big part of the Jenga credit chain, but it’s enough to start a daisy chain of knock-on effects. So, this is where we are, at the beginning of the credit destruction cycle. We are seeing consumer credit card delinquencies nearing all-time highs, auto loan delinquencies and, next up, we will be seeing mortgage delinquencies. People stop paying their credit cards first, then their auto loans and stop paying on their homes last. As the layoffs accelerate, and we are already seeing more high-profile layoffs at Amazon, UPS and you name it, once those begin, we will be seeing higher delinquency rates.”
Dowd sees much lower prices for homes. Dowd says, “There is a distinct problem between homes for sale and homes sold, meaning there are a lot of people wanting to sell their homes and not a lot of people buying them. The inventory continues to grow. . .. The only way this clears is through price. The price of homes is going lower. We had an overbuild in multi-family housing because of the illegal immigrants. Those deals are going sour and rolling over. Rents are coming down. . .. It’s all slowly going the wrong way, and it will become a mainstream topic in 2026.”
In past interviews, Dowd points out there was massive fraud in the Biden Administration, especially in unemployment figures. That, too, will all be revealed. This is why Dowd pointed out last year that President Trump “Inherited a Turd of an Economy.”
What is working are precious metals, especially gold. Dowd does not see gold losing its shine anytime soon. Dowd says, “If we get any kind of credit crisis, gold may get sold temporarily where people sell what they can, but not what they want. Long term, gold looks like it’s going to $10,000 an ounce on the charts by 2030. Everything is conspiring fundamentally and technically to lead us that way. They made gold a Tier 1 asset. That makes gold money again in the banking system. . .. I would not get scared out of my physical gold position anytime soon.”
Dowd has new cutting-edge analysis on China for institutional investors. China is a lot weaker than anyone can imagine. Dowd says, “Not only does China have long-term structural problems, our report identifies a very acute part of their real estate crisis, which is beginning now and accelerating into 2026. . .. China is struggling mightily. We have more bargaining chips than a lot of us think. When I hear things like ‘China holds all the cards and Trump is screwed,’ I laugh.”

In our ridiculous (says me…..I could be wrong) utterly digitised lives in 2025, we are surrounded by the overwhelming demand for electrical power.
Moreover, a great deal of that requirement for electrical power is directed into batteries which run all manner of mobile electronic devices (which I like to call “Digital Handcuffs”……..guffaw guffaw!)
When an electrical current is passed through ANY circuit, it naturally encounters resistance as it moves through, which then reduces the amount of available current flow available to power the digital hand cuff……less power due to resistance strips off the available power available through the electrical circuit.
Of ALL the metals on the periodic table, SILVER is the ACE metal when it comes to the least amount of electrical current resistance it encounters when set into an electrical current configuration.
We can pass current through ANY other metal (Copper, Gold, Tin) and observe the stripping of current via resistance, yet, when it is passed through SILVER, the loss of electrical current is THE LEAST OF ANY.
In layman’s terms, that means that with silver in devices, electricity moves around a lot more freely, and more deliverable current is delivered to said battery powered device.
Devices last longer between charges when resistance to current stripping is minimised.
Unless old mate lonE skuM can miraculously invent an entirely new metal, with superior electrical resistance capacities than are currently observed in silver, then those who invest in silver should sleep pretty well each night.

Our friend here by the name of “Really Awake” is a particularly good writer I find.
Please allow me an indulgence………
I was blessed to have a wonderful 6th grade teacher (MANY years ago), who took me aside and said he saw a little bit of talent, and asked me to work hard to get the best results in his creative writing class.
Mr Higgins was his name, and he would always mark our stories out of 10.
He would give me say a 9/10…..sometimes a 9.5/10……once he even gave me a 9.9/10!
I said to him once, bemoaning the fact that I could never seem to get a 10/10, “Sir……how come you never award me a 10?”
I’ll never forget his reply, “Because Ray, the day I do that will be the day you stop trying to become a better young writer”.
Looking back, that one sentence, that one small piece of advice, was better than any 10/10 he could have given me. In fact…it was in itself, a 10.
Toward the end of our 6th grade year, Mr Higgins brought in a story that one of his former students, a young Indian boy who had immigrated to Australia no less, had written some years earlier.
He read the story out aloud in front of our class.
For this young boy, and his name as I recall was Harsharan, English was a second language.
Before he started, he said, “Kids, in my entire teaching career, I have only ever awarded one 10/10, and this is it”.
I immediately sat bolt upright in my seat!
Well……..I listened very, very hard to that story, and even as a 12 year old, I understood that when you think you have some talent, there are others that have far, far more at their command!
It was another wonderful lesson from Mr Higgins, and though I never spoke to him that last sentence I wrote above, when he finished reading the story, he looked directly at me, held my gaze for a fraction, then beamed the most wonderful, gentle and knowing smile my way.

During WW2, in February 1942, the Japanese Air Force attacked our city of Darwin, in the Northern Territory.
It was a devastating raid by the Japanese forces……more bombs were dropped on Darwin than on Pearl Harbour, which is a little known fact.
The Japanese Navy also had a crack at our beautiful Sydney Harbour on the evening of 31st May, 1942, with three midget submarines entering those waters.
Two of the midget submarines were detected and attacked before they could engage any Allied vessels. The crew of one of the subs scuttled their own submarine upon detection, whilst the second sub was successfully attacked and sunk. The third submarine attempted to torpedo an American heavy cruiser USS Chicago, but instead sank the converted Australian ferry HMAS Kuttabul, killing 21 sailors.
The third midget submarine’s fate was unknown until 2006, when scuba divers discovered the wreck off Sydney’s northern beaches.

I have gone over this a couple of times recently here at USAWATCHDOG, but am happy to provide a rough outline again.
Note, given the slaughter we have seen on Bondi beach this week (pronounced “Bondeye”), the laws as they currently stand will no doubt be tightened even further, as imbeciles raleigh to apportion blame in all the wrong places.
We have six states (New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania) and two territories (Australian Capital Territory {AKA Canberra) and The Northern Territory).
Gun laws are not federally uniform, and vary between the states and territories.
First things first though: Australians were NEVER disarmed.
The notion that we were “disarmed” is akin to the notion that Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole person responsible for killing JFK…..Media Bullshit.
Following the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania in April 1996, the then PM of Australia, John Howard, enacted laws that required states and territorries to legislate the following:
1) Any person in possession of a firearm, must have it registered with local authorities.
If the person owning the firearm refused to register it, they then had two choices……hand it over for destruction, or, take your chances with the law.
Many handed them over, many registered them AND many took (and still do take) their chances with unregistered firearms. There are LOTS of guns here in Australia…….please don’t fall for the lazy and ignorant “Aussies are a disarmed bunch” argument.
2) To own a firearm, you require a firearms licence to be issued to you.
It isn’t like in the US, where you can claim a 2nd amendment type of right to own a firearm.
When applying for a licence, you are asked why you require ownership of the firearm……”self defence” doesn’t get you a licence here.
If you live on the land, say you’re a farmer, and you have feral animals (pigs, kangaroos etc) that need to be controlled, then yes, you can obtain a licence. Also, if you are a member of a shooting club (there are many here in Australia), and you can provide evidence of membership, then yes, you can obtain a firearm to pursue your hobby.
3) Upon attaining your gun licence, but before purchasing your firearm, you must purchase and install RELIABLE gun safe in your home. No purchase and installation, the firearms dealer WILL NOT sell you a firearm. There are hefty prison terms for dealers that break that rule.
4) Upon application to purchase the firearm with the dealer, you must present proof of your firearms licence and firearms safe to the dealer…..they will then assist with registration of the firearm in your name with local authorities.
Upon registration and payment for the firearm, it is yours to safely use as you require.
