Headed for a Derivative Meltdown – Bill Holter

Financial writer and precious metals expert Bill Holter (aka Mr. Gold) said at the beginning of November that there was “more risk in the financial system now than any time ever.” There are so many ways the system can break down it’s hard to keep track, but let’s start with exploding silver prices that happened at the end of last week. Holter says, “In a 48-hour period of time, silver was up over $5 per ounce. It’s pretty clear and pretty obvious that something behind the scenes is breaking. We know that the lease rates have exploded. We know that the borrow rates on SLV have exploded. We also know that in the last 5 to 7 years, silver has been in a deficit. . .. At this point, you are looking at a 400-million-ounce deficit on an annual basis, and global production is 850 million ounces. . .. The rumor is somebody has put in a $20 billion order, which would mean 400 million ounces. If that is the case, that order cannot be met, and that will create shark infested waters. . .. If somebody stands for delivery and it looks like it may be difficult for them to get delivery, then everybody is going to stand for delivery because they know that their contracts are worthless.”
What would happen if there is an actual failure to deliver in the silver market? Mr. Gold says, “If that gets confirmed, then that one day you will see a huge spike, but markets won’t open after that. That will cascade. What will happen is all the COMEX contracts for both silver and gold will default. That will spill over to the rest of the CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange). It has contracts on US Treasuries and stocks. They have contracts on everything. If the silver contracts blow up and the gold contracts blow up, how much confidence are you going to have on pork bellies or stocks. . .. The derivative market is $2 quadrillion. In the future, you are going to measure your wealth by how many ounces of silver and how many ounces of gold you own. . .. Once you get a failure to deliver, you will get a Mad Max scenario. Failure to deliver will melt down all derivatives. The world runs on credit, and credit runs on faith. If you break faith, then you have a real problem in the financial markets and the real economy.”
In closing, Holter warns, “The problem is there is very little collateral left. Everything has been borrowed against already.” Holter is not alone in his thinking about huge risk in the system. It appears billionaire investors Jeff Gundlach and Ray Dalio agree with Holter, and they are warning of liquidity problems. For the first time in their successful careers, they are both buying physical gold.
On a total system stopping derivative meltdown, Holter says, “Most people think it is not possible, and it can’t happen. Mathematically, a meltdown in derivatives that melts everything down is coming. It’s over. Mathematically, it’s over.”

It’s not so much that gold and silver are increasing in value. In fact they are increasing in price because the dollar is losing value and it just takes more dollars to buy the same amount of silver and gold.
The wheelbarrow money of the Weimar Republic and all other currencies that went the way of Rome and Germany were all inflated into oblivion. But they didn’t have computerized digital currencies back then. So They had to print it and put it in circulation . So it wasn’t nearly as easy to fool the public about the value of their currency as it is today. Now all that has to be done is for the government or the FED, or whatever imposter we are told is now in charge of our currency, to approach the keyboard and generate an electronic number in an account and then have a politician declare that CBDC’s or Stablecoins are the new money. They can decide exactly who receives it and how much is put in their account and where they are allowed to spend it and it all can happen in a millisecond.
When you asked Bill what can people do to prepare…he looked to his side. i believe he wanted to say if you haven’t prepared by now you’re too late. Thats what i think he really wanted to say, but he is too kind to be negative. Although doing something is better than nothing.

Bill Holter is giving a Clear Waning to everyone, But most People don’t even realize that there is more then Five (5) TIMES MORE US DOLLARS IN EXISTENCE TODAY Then Five (5) YEARS AGO!!! Just look at the Money Supply (at the beginning of 2020 there was just $4.0192 Trillion in Circulation) by October 2025 that number has jumped up to $22.3 Trillion in Circulation (meaning that since January 2020 the United States has printed more then 80% of all US Dollars Currently in Existence!! And this is According to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and is not some Conspiracy Theory. This means Prices of Everything has in effect risen by FOUR(4) TIMES (FOUR HUNDRED PERCENT) IN THE LAST SIXTY (60) MONTHS. Silver’s Price 60 months ago was about $25 dollars (that means its price RIGHT NOW Should Be $100 Dollars Per Ounce)!!! It also means that the Manipulated CPI that tells people “Prices Have Only Risen By 3%” Is Wrong and Should also be at Least be Four Times higher (closer to 12% PERCENT)!!! What this means is the average working man earning $60,000 per year five years ago has to be earning 4 times as much now ($240,000 per year) “JUST TO REMAIN EVEN” WITH THE CURRENT OUT OF CONTROL MONETARY INFLATION THE US GOVERNMENT IS DOING TO FIGHT ALL ITS WARS AROUND THE WORLD, ETC., ETC., ETC.!! However, even if someone manged to increase their salary by 4 times “Just To Stay Even” (they still actually fell behind, because they are now in a Higher Tax Bracket)!!! Remember the $400 dollars the Average American had in Savings 60 Months ago? Well it is now worth only $100 dollars in Purchasing Power!! Sixty months ago you could have bought 16 Ounces of Silver with $400 Dollars – Today with Silver (very likely soon to be $100 dollars) means the Average American will only be able to buy 4 ounces of Silver (in Silver he could have made 4 times his money)!!! The Obvious Conclusion is if you simply save US Dollars under your mattress, or earn a salary or pension in US Dollars, you will “Soon Own Nothing” (just as Klaus Schwab warned). And Yes, (With the Dollar worth Nothing) You Will Soon Be Very Happy “Just to Eat Bugs”!!!

Question about cash. Bill Holter said to use cash with in 1-2 weeks (when the crash hits). What about those paying rent, for example, with cash? I am keeping enough cash aside for this purpose. Becoming homeless or going into a shelter is NOT a viable option.

Bill mentioned that the USA had previously controlled the poppy fields of Afghanistan, with the CIA (and by extension, the USA) benefiting from this arrangement.
Then it was mentioned how Venezuela had “interfered in US elections”…….however, no verifiable proof was offered up to support this claim during the excellent interview.
It was then put forward that Donal J Trump may use US Forces to inflict a military barrage upon Venezuela.
I put the following legal argument to the world for careful consideration:
ARTICLE: 1
The United States of America has NO CLAIM to state that Venezuela dealing in the distribution of drugs is illegal, when its’ very own government agency, the CIA, has an INDISPUTABLE RECORD of controlling and distributing drugs across this planet.
As such…..ANY claim by Donald J Trump in terms of demand that Venezuela cease and desist such actions MUST BE MET with an agreement by Donald J Trump to IMMEDIATELY disband the CIA, who are involved in similar practises world wide.
I am happy to meet Donald J Trump or ANY representative of the government of the United States of America in any court of law outside the United States, to discuss or dispute the above……and so are the people of the world, who will back me to the hilt.

Just based upon Money Supply Alone, spot Silver should Rise to $100 – $120 by December 2026. Russia, the US and China are Accumulating Silver as a “Strategic Metal” and with India believing that Spot Gold “will only correct” after its price rises (without any major sell off in-between) to approximately $5500-$6000 per ounce, Silver’s path looks to be Upward from here!! There may be a chance of a Short-term Bubble being formed (but only if Both Gold and Silver continue to rise Non-stop into the Middle of January 2026). But, as long as Silver does not fall below $57 (for four consecutive trading sessions) I believe there is not much to worry about in terms of a big correction in Silver!! Especially, with Gold now at $4,200 an ounce (which should Provide Substantial Support for Silver “Continuing to Advance” (Even With Some Deflationary Forces Emanating From China). If Gold continues its ascent towards $5,500 – $6,000 (as India believes) Silver will Most Definitely Break Upward. Now a “Significant Downturn in the US Stock Market” Could Trigger a Rapid Correction in Silver (perhaps down to $40 Dollar level)!! I bought Silver when it was at $15 way back in 2015. Anybody can go online and find an Inflation Calculator and compare the price when bought with today’s price. It can be see clearly that outperformed even the inflation.

This completely ignores the fact that silver and gold are treated as investments by most buyers. You seem to like insulting stackers, but most savvy investors buy low and sell high. Only a tiny percentage of the population holds their precious metals for the long term, and those that do see it as insurance, not an investment. As for my family, when we buy, we buy low. My sons – in their late 20s now, bought gold at $1600-$1800 and one is now offloading some of it at $4250 just a few years later. They will retain some as insurance but the proceeds from those sales will go into other assets. Do you honestly believe people kept their silver at $50 an ounce during the last couple of spikes? I can remember everyone in my family rushing to sell in the high 40’s during the Hunt Bros debacle, then rebuy later at lower prices. I’m starting to sell some of mine and will continue to do so on the way up, and will rebuy at lower prices. Nothing goes up in a straight line. I also like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Great interview and information. But, I’m in a bit of a quandry…I have enough silver to sell and pay off my mortgage. But, do I really want to do that given the mess ahead…keep on keeping on ….
Taxes would be due. They’ll want to see receipts on purchase price vs selling price and tax you on the profits. We keep all receipts in a notebook for just such a scenario. I am hoping that one day the US government exempts gold and silver from taxes when used to pay debts. Some states allow for this but the Fed Government still wants their capital gains.

I invest in precious metals. I also play the markets. Nothing quite like using the system against itself. I use options to generate 20-25% ROI weekly. That allows me to free up income to buy gold and silver. It is quite possible to buy a significant stack of metals every year with after tax profits. At this time I am not buying PMs because they are at local highs on the charts, so I am waiting for a pull back. Never pay top dollar for an asset. Buy at low points. I expect a pullback in the next couple of months with gold heading below $4K and silver back down to $40-$45 before it resumes its climb.
Also, if Europe goes to war with Russia (highly doubtful) then ultimately the US markets will benefit. The world is awash in money, and it has to go somewhere. The US dollar, US equities and Treasuries will benefit. If tactical nukes are used? Again, highly doubtful, but THAT would crash the markets.
