The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has deemed Deutsche Bank as the most systemically dangerous bank in the world. Professor of Economics and Law, William Black, knows why and contends, “Deutsche Bank (DB) poses as what is called a ‘National Champion’ bank and the largest bank by far in Germany, but it’s actually the largest criminal enterprise in Germany. This is quite a statement because VW is such a massive fraud. . . .It is insane that we allow Deutsche Bank to go from fraud to fraud to fraud. . . .They cheat on everything else you can possibly imagine and, typically, they are getting caught, which is also not a very good sign in terms of their competence even as thieves. Former top bank regulator Professor William Black says there is no hiding the cesspool that is Wall Street. Dr. Black says, “People on Wall Street agree that the system is rigged.  You get them into a bar, they will say the same thing.  When Bernie Sanders says the business plan of Wall Street is fraud, that’s simply an accurate, objective fact.  That is their key profit center . . . and it’s not just here.  The United States has been in a competition with the United Kingdom (UK) for decades now on this race to the bottom with the City of London and Wall Street.  The UK Parliamentary Inquiry, which is run by the Tories, found as a fact that . . . all of the retail profits of the largest banks in the United Kingdom came from the deliberate or ‘mis-selling’ of products to customers. . . . They deliberately ripped off entrepreneurs.  They deliberately ripped off their customers, and the Tories found it represented all of their retail profits. . . . You are talking in the range of $80 billion.”

White collar crime expert Professor William Black thinks the nation’s top bankers continue to get away with massive financial crime.  The most recent $10 million fine of former Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis for fraud illustrates the ongoing problem.  Professor Black says, “He’s not paying $10 million.  Bank of America is paying the $10 million.  So, he could care less, and he didn’t have to admit anything.   (more…)

Economist John Williams says don’t believe the hype about the U.S. economy being good—it’s not. Williams explains, “I love America, but we are in a deepening recession.  The economy collapsed into 2009 . . . we never really recovered from that.  We had a few bounces higher, but generally, we went into low level stagnation, and now it’s turning down again.  We just had a revision to the benchmark GDP (1.2%) and the numbers are nonsense.  The numbers are a lot weaker than they appear. There’s no question we are in a recession.”

Economist John Williams says if Russia sells its U.S. dollar holdings, it could trigger hyperinflation.  Could it collapse the financial system?  Williams contends, “Yes, it certainly has a potential to do that.  Looking outside the United States, there is something over $16 trillion in cash, or near cash.  That’s about the same size as our GDP.  . . Nobody has wanted to hold the dollar for some time.  The dollar, fundamentally, is weak.  It couldn’t be weaker.  All the major factors are against it.  It’s just a matter of what would trigger the massive selling.  Nobody wants to hold it.  The Russians start selling, and you have China indicating a general alliance here in terms of what’s transpiring.  If the rest of the world believes this is what’s going to happen, people who have been wanting to get out of the dollar for some time very easily could front-run the Russians.  The scare is on.  People will try to get out of it as rapidly as they can.

Trump tweeted out a cartoon with some of the people behind bars that failed in taking him out of office in a soft coup. The cartoon asked “When do the trials for treason begin?” Could a release of the FISA documents laced with outright fraud used to spy on President Trump and prove a phony witch hunt be far away? People will go to jail over this.

Crimea may be part of Russia now, but the Ukraine crisis is far from over.  Reports are Russia has now amassed as many as 80,000 troops on the Eastern Ukraine border.  Russia says they are conducting war games and training, but U.S. military sources openly worry about an invasion.  I do not understand why President Obama is saying that Russia is only a “regional power” and is “threatening its neighbors out of weakness.”  (more…)

President Obama told Democratic Senators at the White House this week he is going ahead with his agenda with or without Republicans in Congress.  It looks like he will be ramping up the so-called executive order on policies such as immigration and income inequality.  I don’t see how a Constitutional scholar doesn’t get the way the U.S. government works.  Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government are essentially equal and provide checks and balances.  I predict this policy will backfire.

Video and photos are now released, and suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing case are being hunted down.  They will be in custody soon, if not already.  My prayers go out to family members who lost lives and limbs in the blast.  This is being politicized  to blame and demonize everything from the NRA to Republicans and even the sequester cuts.  (more…)
