Can Ron Paul Win as a Third Party Candidate?

Can Ron Paul Win as a Third Party Candidate?By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

In a new poll, out yesterday, 7 out of 10 Republicans and right leaning independent voters believe Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee for President.  (Click here for that poll.)   Does that mean it’s over for Congressman Ron Paul?  I think it is safe to say it is probably a long shot he will be the Republican nominee, but what about a third party run?  Can Ron Paul win as a third party candidate? Iran War is Only Matter of Time

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Two weeks ago, Iranians were saved from pirates on their hijacked ship by the U.S. Navy.  Last week, the U.S. military saved a sinking ship in the Persian Gulf.  It’s too bad that will not be enough goodwill to stop the coming Iran war.  Headlines in the last few weeks look like a stark warning for a coming conflict.  (more…)

It looks like GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is opening up a wide lead in the national polls.  Gallup has his up by as much as 20 points, but he hasn’t won the nomination just yet.  The South Carolina primary is coming up, and it promises to be a real cage fight. (more…)

Dollar Crisis Coming–Just a Matter of Time

I have long said the trouble in the U.S. economy will all eventually boil down to a currency crisis.  Meaning, the dollar is going to lose a whole lot more buying power before this chapter in American history is over.  This is not a matter of if but when, and we are not going to have to wait too much longer.  People call the buck a “safe haven” investment, but the buck is hardly safe.  Jim Willie from Goldenjackass.com agrees and has written a stellar post spelling out just how vulnerable the U.S. dollar really is.  Please enjoy his work below, and check out his PhD credentials after the post.—Greg Hunter. Mitt Romney Wins in NH

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Mitt Romney, who finished first in New Hampshire last night, got a raw deal from the mainstream media (MSM) and his Republican opponents about a comment that was totally taken out of context.  It was reported that Mitt Romney said, “I like to fire people.”  That would make you think he was some sort of cold hearted person who doesn’t care about people.  (more…)

Greg Hunter on Infowars Nightly News

By Greg Hunbter’s USAWatchdog.com

I was asked to be on the Infowars.com Nightly News show with Alex Jones.  Arron Dykes filled in for Alex and did a great job.   I want to point out that this newscast is really on the cutting edge of information technology.  In the news world, the Internet represents what is called “disruptive technology.”  (more…)

Unemployment Drop Masks Ongoing Decline

Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Last Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said 200,000 new jobs were created which dropped the unemployment rate to 8.5%.  Break out the party hats and champagne, we’ve finally hit bottom and are heading back up!  That’s the way the mainstream media (MSM) reported it, and in a campaign year, President Obama took a victory lap.    (more…)

Weekly News Wrap-Up 1.6.12

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

The Middle East keeps getting hotter every week.  Iran just finished war games in the Persian Gulf and threatened to shut down the Strait of Hormuz because of increasing sanctions.  It is now warning the U.S. Navy to stay out of the Gulf with its aircraft carriers.  The Pentagon is ignoring the threat and says it is going to keep on doing business as usual.  It is also reported that the U.S. is conducting military exercises in in Israel.  It’s been done before, but the timing could not be more provocative.  (more…)

Meet the Mainstream Press

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Nothing is more emblematic of the mainstream media (MSM) than NBC’s “Meet the Press.”  I wonder if it should be renamed “Meet the Corporate Mainstream Press” because that is exactly what it was on Sunday.  Before the first vote was cast, Sunday’s panel anointed Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate to face Barack Obama this fall.  I really wonder why we have caucuses or primaries at all.  (more…)

The Hormuz Wild Card

Strait of Hormuz

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Iran is threatening to shut down the Strait of Hormuz if more sanctions are installed against it.  Tensions are mounting between the U.S. and other nations as Iran continues to develop a nuclear program.  Most recently, it was reported Iran made its first nuclear fuel rod that it claims is for the peaceful production of energy.  (more…)

Weekly News Wrap-Up 12.30.11

The big story, with worldwide implications, is Iran threating to close down the Strait of Hormuz.  The Iranians are fighting mad at the U.S. and EU for plans to tighten sanctions on their oil and financial interests because of Iran’s nuclear program.  Iran claims it is for peaceful purposes.  Nevertheless, tensions with Iran have been escalating in recent weeks.  (more…)

MSM Pushing Turnaround for Economy

Economy Turning AroundBy Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

Over the last several days, I began hearing a new description of the economy by the mainstream media (MSM)—“turnaround.”  I can’t tell you how many different ways this phrase was used, but it was enough to get my attention.  I don’t know who comes up with this stuff or where it is hatched, but I think this phrase is the new “recovery” term.  Remember when we started out with “green shoots”?  (more…)

Charities get Christmas Gift from “Anonymous”

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

It looks like charities such as the Red Cross, CARE and Save the Children got some much needed money this Christmas, but it came from the Internet hacking group know as “Anonymous.”  It is being reported Anonymous broke into a reporting and security firm called Stratfor.  It stole thousands of client credit card numbers and donated money from those individuals to charity.  (more…)

Payroll Tax Cut Extension and Ron Paul and Martial LawGreg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

We have a deal on extending the payroll tax cut–for two whole months.  It may put a few extra bucks in the pockets of working Americans, but it is an accounting nightmare for business. This isn’t much of a fix to the ailing economy, but we really don’t have much in the way of leadership on either side of the aisle.  (more…)

Greg Hunter with Alex Jones on Infowars.com

By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

I had the pleasure of being on Infowars.com with Alex Jones this week.  We covered a variety of topics including the European debt crisis (which is really a bank solvency crisis), loss of the Constitutional rights of Americans with passage of the Indefinite Detention bill and FEMA camps to name a few.  I was having some audio problems that day; so, I winged it and used a telephone along with my Skype.  (more…)
