Corporate Empire Created Failed Global Economic System-John Perkins

44By Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com

John Perkins, best-selling author of “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man,” says corporations, not governments, run the world.  Perkins explains, “We are in a world situation unlike anybody has ever known before.  We have a global corporate empire.  It’s a corporate empire and not a United States empire.  It’s the first time in history it’s really not a national empire.  It’s the corporatocracy, the heads of corporations, which control everything in the world.  This is not a conspiracy theory.  The corporations don’t get together and confer with each other secretly, but they are all driven by one motive, which is to maximize profits regardless of the social and environmental costs.  Let’s face it, the economy of China, the economy of Russia and the economy of the United States is very dependent on these big corporations.  China has done a lot to create its own economic growth, but it could not have happened without the big multinationals.  So, they play an incredibly important roll today; and, in fact, this has created a failed global economic system.  Just one statistic that is really telling is less than 5% of us live in the United States and we consume almost 30% of the world’s resources, while half the world is starving or on the verge of starvation.  That is not a model.  China can’t do that.  Russia can’t do that.  Africa can’t do that.  You can’t repeat that, but they are trying to repeat it . . . but they can’t.”

Where does the crisis in Iraq fit in?  Perkins, a former chief economist who advised the U.S. Treasury Department and the IMF, to name a few, says, “Another force has now stepped up to the stage and that’s the militant Islamic force, and it’s a very strong force.  It is a very anti- capitalistic force.  So, it is the force going up against the corporatocracy.  Even though Russia, China and the United States compete on many levels as they are doing in Ukraine and other places, they have a common enemy, which is this Islamic regime that wants to overthrow the corporatocracy.  I am not talking about all Islamic people by any means; I am talking about the radical Islamic militant groups like ISIS that is coming into strength in the Middle East right now.”  Perkins goes on to say, “Now, what’s happening suddenly in Iraq, Syria, Iran and the whole Middle East is exploding once again.  I think Middle East oil is not nearly as important as a few years ago.  There are other alternatives now.  Having said that, the oil companies will use what’s going on in the Middle East to jack up prices as high as they think they can and blame what is going on there for that.”  Perkins adds, “They’ll also use thatto convince all of us that we should be fracking, using tar sands, building these pipelines that are being so strongly opposed across Canada and across the United States.  What’s going on in the Middle East will be used as a leverage point to further these projects that are so strongly opposed by a lot of environmentalists.”  Perkins gives “at least a 60%” chance that oil is going to $150 to $200 a barrel.

On the Ukraine crisis, Perkins says, “After the demise of the Soviet Union in 1991, the United States was the only super power in the world.  But rather than using that as a real launching pad to do great things in the world, we exploited people.  Again, it wasn’t so much the United States, but they used the United States and the United States went along.  Let’s face it; nobody gets elected in the Unites States without huge corporate support.  It’s not Obama’s fault.  He wouldn’t have gotten elected if he hadn’t taken that support, and then he becomes a servant to the corporations.  They have reacted very, very badly including in the former Soviet Union countries.  The corporatocracy, the United States, allied with much of Europe and tried desperately to embrace these countries and bring them into our sphere of influence primarily for the corporations.  Russia has taken exception to this . . . so, I think we made some classic errors there.” Join Greg Hunter as he goes One-on-One with best-selling author John Perkins.

“less than 5% of us live in the United States and we consume almost 30% of the world resources”

Last time I heard this was from some Marxist professor on a college campus.

    • lance kupzik

      Great interview!
I was happily taken aback by his positive outlook on investment.
It is encouraging that we have many former monsters who have now found their souls and are trying to use their experience to break up the plans of the corporate overlords of the world. I gladly welcome ANY AND ALL OF THEM to the fight for the average human’s survival and living conditions .
If we were smart enough to use just a fraction of money blown on military toys on developing technologies to clean the air , earth and water then we would have gladly gotten back form China a large chunk of the moneys that they got from us in trade.
      What a giant missed opportunity!
It is no accident that Correo and Morales have come to power in Ecuador and Bolivia after his confessional book and his help to defeat the money hungry monsters .
Without this information , the EHM would have worked their black magic again !

These states are very misleading. I guess that we are to be shamed into being such pigs BUT then again we were the richest country the world has ever known and the most generous. Who prospered, a lot outside the USA, as we have given billions – BILLIONS to numerous countries. Also when the “UN” steps in with aid the boxes as UN but before that they said USA.

Your right Otto as only a true Marxist would make it a point to state that: “less than 5% of us live in the United States and we consume almost 30% of the world resources”… all while ignoring the obvious of this country’s generosity.

It is a merry go round. Big corporations cannot be big without governmental support. No dollars and tax breaks, thus no big corps. They go hand in hand….Oil still runs the show. No oil, no food….alternatives to oil? Really?

    • allen ols

      ugly

As Bar-Yam explains, “The analysis suggests the doubling of food prices we have seen since 2005 pushed many in the greatest poverty across the line from bare subsistence into desperation and starvation. When people are not able to feed their families, they have little to lose and become willing to take strong actions.”

Yes you’re correct. However it started somewhat differently. In the beginning, corporations were “chartered”. Meaning they had an expiration date and had to renew the charter to continue. So like human life which also has an expiration date, they could be managed for the benefit of a community or nation. Then they got the lawyers involved and set up immortal corporations which had no expiration dates and they became the monsters we have today, international corporations that exist only for profit, power, and greed without consideration for people, or environment, or even their own existence.

And true, there are NO alternatives to oil, solar energy that took millions of years to store into a compact and easy to use liquid. We humans have squandered it to destroy ourselves.

    Hi Greg
Great interview, although I didn’t agree with your guest in everything.

    Why? Reasons are simple:
1st) For Russians and Chinese leadership the ISIS is more security issue than anything else. If you look at the map and the religious map of the Russian southern and Chinese western borders, you will get it why. That is why they work together in Iraq.
2nd) For the Russians and Chinese leadership cooperation with corporations has more political than economical roots.
3rd) There will be a massive shift in economic model of the BRICS countries sooner rather than later.
4th) For Russians the situation in Ukraine is security issue. They don’t want Nazis and NATO on their border.

    Your thoughts.

    Greg;
Really enjoyed this interview, He nailed it, ” 5% of us live in the United States and we consume almost 30% of the world’s resources, while half the world is starving or on the verge of starvation. And 1% of the 5% control THAT.

    JW’S Global Money Report HT Letter came out yesterday Quote;

◄$$$ THE USECONOMY HAS BEEN RAVAGED… IT IS COLLAPSING FROM UNSOUND MONEY, THE (QE) BOND MONETIZATION, OUTSOURCED INDUSTRY, WALL STREETFRAUD, AND ENDLESS WAR… WITNESS SYSTEMIC FAILURE AND THE DEATH OF AN ENTIRE ECONOMY. $$$

The death spiral is characterized by free fall in consumer demand. Recall the business model of consumption rather than business investment for the last 20 years. The unequivocally dreadful news came from the likes of Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, KMart, JCPenney, Kohls, Costco, Staples, The Gap, Ann Taylor, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Best Buy, Macy’s, Dollar General, Urban Outfitters, McDonalds, Darden Restaurants, TJX, Dick’s, Home Depot, and Lowes. John Williams at Shadow Govt Statistics predicts that by July 30th, the second quarter will verify that theUnited States has entered another recession, officially defined as two consecutive negative growth quarters. See the Burning Platform article (CLICK HERE) for a staggering frightening list of retail chain woes, marred by deep losses and store shutdowns. America is going out of business, but leaders still call it a very sluggish Recovery. Truth in reporting has been outlawed.

The solution can be found on a different plane. The Gold Standard coincides with economic recovery and national interests. . . .
◄$$$ HARDSHIP IS BROAD AND DEEP IN THE HOUSING MARKET AND HOUSEHOLD SITUATION… PRICES ARE FALLING AGAIN, AND FORECLOSURES ARE RISING AGAIN… NOTHING LIQUIDATED, NOTHING SOLVED, ONLY EXPLOIT… HOLDING A HOME IS HARDER WHEN LOSING A JOB. $$$

Half of Americans struggle mightily to afford their own homes, making key sacrifices in order to remain in a house. Foreclosures have returned in force in California, with a renewed crisis. Nothing is ever fixed, since no big banks are never liquidated, nor their extensive portfolios of homes ever liquidated. . . . No recovery in sight, just demagoguery and deceptions. Further collapse comes in accelerated manner next.
(There is much, much more for Hat Trick letter subscribers.)

Al, Jim W. is correct in that there can be no progress without write-off. The so-called “managed” GM bankruptcy, where legitimate creditors got stiffed, and the unions got paid off with ownership of the company and government underwriting, was the template for this idea of bailout without consequence of bad investments (derivatives). Since the problem was never dealt with, it is obviously still with us, and worse now than before. In the meantime, those in control made sure everyone in the game got the elevator, while the rest of us got the shaft, as the saying goes. Best always to you and yours. PM

  5. allen ols

    Greg; The NWO powers know this collapse is inevitable, and do not want US citizens rising up against their system, enter corporations; Dave Hodges wrote a telling article saturday, Quote;

Our banker hijacked government has eviscerated the Constitution through tyrannical legislative acts such as
    The Military Commissions Act,
The Patriot Acts I and II,
    The John Warner Defense Act,
    The NDAA,
Quantitative Easing I, II and to infinity.

These events explain why a mass incarceration/genocide is a potential event in the future of America. Why? Simple, we are on the precipice of World War III with Russia and we are a false flag event away from total martial law and the above legislative acts and executive orders stand in evidence of this position.

This article does not debate the existence of FEMA Camps (i.e. Concentration Camps), they exist. Rather, this article examines what one could do to survive a period in our future where nobody is safe and anyone for any reason could be sent to a concentration camp.

The Legal Infrastructure Is In Place for Mass Detentions

The NDAA should scare the life out of every American Citizen. This allows the government the authority to secretly arrest Americans, without due process, torture and even murder American citizens without so much as a trial.

The National Defense Resources Preparedness allows the president, without going through the U.S. Congress, the ability to seize control of all corporate assets, manufacturing operations, and conscript American civilians into work brigades (i.e. slave labor), seize all food, impose restrictions and rations on all vital resources and to hand these resources to the Department of Homeland Security. Section 201 of this Executive Order allows the president to seize control of all corporate infrastructure, manufacturing operations, control of food, control of farm equipment, control of fuel, control electricity, control of water resources, and control of all civilian transportation.

It is also been documented that the existence and operational activation of FEMA camps is now a provable fact as reported by CBS News. Let’s not kid ourselves, FEMA camps are the future concentration camps.

There are many other examples of impending government tyranny that could easily be pointed out here. However, the above-mentioned governmental policies are all the proof that America needs to come to the realization that we are all in a great deal of potential danger and that you, the American middle class, already are the targets of this tyrannical oppression.

If elements of your government were not planning to commit mass incarcerations and/or genocide against the American people, then why would these policies be enacted? Should we just think that the government doesn’t really mean it when they say they can secretly arrest and murder Americans without following the due process of law under the NDAA? Should we think is just a silly conspiracy theory when we state that Obama has given himself the authority to seize every meaningful asset in this country based solely on his own personal say-so? Is America so dumbed-down to not be able recognize the danger when it’s staring us in the face, The danger is in print, click on the hypertext links and read for yourself that the elite are telling you what they are planning to do to you.

I find it laughable how the country has been conditioned to laugh at any kind of conspiracy theory, as if two evil men would never get together and conspire to do anything. The refusal of Americans to recognize these dangers, and dismiss them as merely wild-eyed conspiracy theories, speaks to how dumbed down our people have become due to a substandard education system and through the controlled corporate media in which only five corporations own over 95% of the entire media industrial complex.

      greg;

      SEEMS JUST LIKE YESTERDAY;

Pol Pot (1925-1998) and his communist Khmer Rouge movement led Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. During that time, about 1.5 million Cambodians out of a total population of 7 to 8 million died of starvation, execution, disease or overwork. Some estimates place the death toll even higher. One detention center, S-21, was so notorious that only seven of the roughly 20,000 people imprisoned there are known to have survived. The Khmer Rouge, in their attempt to socially engineer a classless peasant society, took particular aim at intellectuals, city residents, ethnic Vietnamese, civil servants and religious leaders.

      Mao Zedong mass murder;
Mr Dikötter, who has been studying Chinese rural history from 1958 to 1962, when the nation was facing a famine, compared the systematic torture, brutality, starvation and killing of Chinese peasants to the Second World War in its magnitude. At least 45 million people were worked, starved or beaten to death in China over these four years

      Joseph Stalin mas murder;
Stalin’s extremely brutal 30-year rule as absolute ruler of the Soviet Union featured so many atrocities, including purges, expulsions, forced displacements, imprisonment in labor camps, manufactured famines, torture and good old-fashioned acts of mass murder and massacres (not to mention World War II) that the complete toll of bloodshed will likely never be known.

        ………….cont’d

Medevedev’s grim bookkeeping included the following tragic episodes: 1 million imprisoned or exiled between 1927 to 1929; 9 to 11 million peasants forced off their lands and another 2 to 3 million peasants arrested or exiled in the mass collectivization program; 6 to 7 million killed by an artificial famine in 1932-1934; 1 million exiled from Moscow and Leningrad in 1935; 1 million executed during the ”Great Terror” of 1937-1938; 4 to 6 million dispatched to forced labor camps; 10 to 12 million people forcibly relocated during World War II; and at least 1 million arrested for various “political crimes” from 1946 to 1953.

Although not everyone who was swept up in the aforementioned events died from unnatural causes, Medvedev’s 20 million non-combatant deaths estimate is likely a conservative guess.

You are about to read a list of 45 goals that found their way down the halls of our great Capitol back in 1963. As you read this, 39 years later, you should be shocked by the events that have played themselves out. I first ran across this list 3 years ago but was unable to attain a copy and it has bothered me ever since. Recently, Jeff Rense posted it on his site and I would like to thank him for doing so. http://www.rense.com

        15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

        16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

        17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

        18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

        19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

        20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

        21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

        22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”

        23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”

        24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

        25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

        26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

        27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”

        28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

        29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

        30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

        31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

        32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

        33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

        34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

        35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

        36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

        37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

        38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

Allen, I think most people share your fears and I note that Congress is now officially less popular than dog poop:
      http://www.infowars.com/gallup-congress-approval-rating-sinks-to-historic-low/
Furthermore, despite record disapproval ratings, they continue in the wrong direction under the “cover” of being a legitimate democratically elected Government, which quite clearly they are not.

John is correct – corporates now rule. But apart from being undemocratic, the problem is that corporates have a time horizon which extends to the next quarterly profit result and not the billion year future of our planet. Which means that there is an unnecessary rush to plunder our planet and its human population and turn everything into cash – which John (correctly) calls the “death model”. As opposed to his “life model”, which is to think very long term and be sustainable. On this I agree whole-heartedly.

My surprise in the interview was that John was surprised that Russia is fearful of US intentions. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the US has knocked over many countries and all those dominoes (Poland, Ukraine, etc, etc) are now stacked up and pushing against Russia. So strangely enough, the freedom of the world and the continuation of US democracy is now dependent on (the traditional enemy) Russia standing firm! Funny how things usually go circular – be careful what you wish for!

  6. Fraser

Thanks Greg, but on a different subject…

I would like to apologize to you and your friends on this web site and in particular to Charles H, for shouting. You have been so kind to print my nonsense and I am ashamed to say that I have not shown you the respect that privilege deserves. By way of excuse, I have been working non-stop on trying to find a peaceful solution to our problems and in-so-doing have obviously become “tired and emotional”. Although I still believe that US leadership is taking our world into dark places, I have neither right nor grounds (as an Australian) to attack any memeber of the American public, most of whom are working harder than me. One Greg Hunter hardest of all – bless you for that Sir! I have been arrogant and foolish and please accept my humble and heart-felt apology. Long may we remain good friends!

In particular, my comments regarding a “tax revolt” were not meant to incite anyone to commit a crime. In any case, (IF you wanted your Government to stop what they are doing and listen to you) the critical thing is actually not the withdrawal of tax but the withdrawal (by the public) of the legitimacy of the Government. It is the absence of legitimacy (not money) that leads to reform. While a tax revolt (or even the threat of one) has historically achieved an immediate result, the same result can be achieved (but much more slowly) with “softer” options, many of which are already underway:
    – Turning off MSM (and listening to Greg instead)
    – Selling “Federal Reserve Notes” and buying gold and silver

Catherine Austin Fitts has predicted a continued “slow burn”, which has resulted in a one dollar bet with Greg. However, in disagreement with Catherine, I do not believe that “slow burn” is a viable option because the longer the process takes, the weaker the US economy becomes and the weaker the US “rule of law” and democracy become. As we speak, Governmental attacks on your Constitution are increasing and my fear is that (within a few short years) your Government will declare an “economic (or other) emergency” and that as “temporarily measure” it no longer needs the affirmation of the public (ie: elections) to form a legitimate Government. (Just like Nixon did with the gold standard in 1971). Then (not only your money but also) your democracy is dead and we are all gone, because endless world war (or a nuclear war) will probably follow.

Thus to preserve what we have left of our system, I believe that we need to somehow hasten the reform. Thus I have been shouting about a “tax revolt” (which I still think would work). But if not then something is desperately need, maybe like:
    – Transferring support from the Federal Government to your Local Government
    – Transferring support from Wall St and the Federal Reserve to local business
    – Removing support for unethical business (both as a producer and consumer)
    – Removing support for global war by demanding that your taxes be spent at home for your own benefit and NOT for killing innocent women and children abroad!

But there you go, I am lecturing again – sorry – I promise that I will shut up now!

    • Greg Hunter

      Fraser,
I appreciate your involvement in the site. Never “shut up” my friend.

Saint L – Agreed that we have all been asleep too long, but where there is a will, there is a way! As I see it, 99% of humanity want what we want – peace and freedom, but we are ruled by a psychopathic 1%. We have the numbers, we just have to find the courage to stand up and remove their legitimacy to rule us. I am also convinced that wise leaders exist within our Governments and military who really want to help, but need “we the people” to show cause for them to step in.

It is only a slow burn, until it becomes a very fast and catastrophic crash and burn. Such is the way of exponential functions, like the fiat currency supply and the debt that it represents or the extraction of natural resources and the depletion that it represents or the growth of the population and the tragic consequences that it represents. If only people understood the meaning of exponential functions and how they relate to everyday life on this planet, we would avoid the many mistakes of human civilizations throughout human history.

  7. MrPM

Sorry Greg nothing against you at all, just my opinion

“The corporations don’t get together and confer with each other secretly..”

That totally discredits anything he could possibly say in an interview.

“What does he think Bilderberg is than?”

Thats when it becomes a conspiracy theory, According to the media, because they are cheer leading & covering up for them.

  8. Off The Rails

Greg, Another great interview and thanks for the alternative
point of view. I have read John Perkins book and he really peals
back the layers like an onion. The more layers you peal the more
it stinks. Too much money and power concentrated at the upper
levels. All I know is that will not end well. All the best to you and
    yours.

  9. Bottom of the Barrel

Wow Greg, where do you find these people? This guy says this: ““Another force has now stepped up to the stage and that’s the militant Islamic force, and it’s a very strong force. It is a very anti- capitalistic force,” and this “Even though Russia, China and the United States compete on many levels as they are doing in Ukraine and other places, they have a common enemy, which is this Islamic regime that wants to overthrow the corporatocracy. I am not talking about all Islamic people by any means….” This is nothing but misinformation and deceit. Ask Jim Willie who the enemy is….he usually names them by an nickname or a innuendo.
Even his statement about corporations running the US is misleading. Maybe some corporations do, but it is the ELITISTS that control these few corporations, along with the secret societies that control the planet.
This guys purpose is to mislead us and take our eyes (and minds) off the real enemy.

    • Greg Hunter

      Bottom,
I thought Perkins had a different perspective that was fresh and unique tom his experience. I did not get the impression he was purposely misleading. Thank you for your comment though.

Perhaps it’s semantics but if the corporations run the word, they run it will the assistance of government.

Or flip it around -governments run the world with the assistance of corporations.

What strikes me between the first cold war and the war on terror is seeing the Reagans hobnobbing with the Gorbachevs which highlights the common culture with the supposed enemy, something that doesnt exist in the war on terror

Interesting new guest, definitely a ¨fresh¨ perspective (although he does not fully convince me, perhaps I´ll read his previous book). On the positive side, his general concepts are for the most part correct – especially in respect to ¨Corporatocracy¨ and how it controls our world. However on the negative side, his investment ideas of investing ONLY in companies that are striving to better our world, without regards to maximizing profits and more importantly excluding Gold & Silver because they do nothing to make our world better – is to say the least both foolish and idealistic.

    • Allen H.

Armando- It easier than reading his first best selling book.. just visit this interview – all is explained-

I also was troubled by his investment ideas- but one must consider- he was on the inside of the elite’s for a long time and was paid well?– Is he still on the inside? The “elite’s” do have a code- they are to tell everyone what they are going to do before they do it. Through movies, speeches, etc. maybe through people like John?? Who knows?

Greg, I really enjoyed Mr. Perkins interview. Thank you for having him on. And I liked his response to “where are you putting your money?” Not gold, not silver, not bonds. Its in investments that operate & produce goods/services that are in alignment with his beliefs of making this world better for his grandson meaning for future generations. This speaks volumes to me about where our values should be focused. Not on hording because of being consumed by fear but on doing what we can to promote good. Again, a very enlightening interview.

    • Diane Ryan

‘Hoarders’? Most folks who parrot that term would describe my husband as one of those ‘hoarders’. Is he driven by fear? No. As head of our family he is driven by his God-given responsibility to provide for and protect us.

You speak of values. We value home-schooling, home-churching, self-sufficiency, husband as head of family, wife as head of household, independence from government magistrates including their phony fiat money.

Our values are traditional values. Sadly, many Americans have turned their backs on them. I believe the day is coming (and not necessarily tribulation) when they and their love ones will suffer greatly because of that. I am often reminded of Proverbs 22:3, “A Prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it”.

You speak of “investments that operate & produce goods/services that are in alignment with making this world better for future generations”. What specifically would be better than what our family is investing in?

      • Pinocchio

        @Diane Ryan

Amen. I could have written the exact same response verbatim. Perfectly said. I can’t add anything of value here. Blessings to you and your family 🙂

Greg, Mr. Perkins struck me as somewhat a dreamer, as opposed to a realist. Although I agree with him on what we should be doing, his life economy, etc., but I’m afraid his corporatocracy & death economy is all to real and powerful to change anytime soon. Call me a pessimist if you will, but I’m betting on the one percent to manage, control, enslave, & plunder until it self implodes. However, his astute reading of the decline of middle eastern oil influence is already coming to fruition in this new Iraq situation with oil futures not up all that much considering the militants on the verge of the oil fields.
One thing I learned from your guest was that the whole world and its corporatocracy is against militant Islam, with that said I know such radicals don’t stand much of a chance in the long run; until I heard his say it I was somewhat worried about radical Islam. As Mr. Perkins said, its a strong force but I can’t see it having a very long impact on the world due to its lack of support from world corporatocracy and their military & government puppets nations. Thanks for having him on.

  14. Jerry

Greg, what an utterly refreshing interview. Finally, finally, the truth has come out. John Perkins clearly has his hand on the pulse of economic truth that runs the world. Greg I stopped believing in government cause and effect when I figured out who was running the Federal Reserve Bank. Its not us. Its the corporate cabal John Perkins was speaking about in your interview. And guess what? They have plans for a new economic system, just like he discussed. Here is a link that I have posted before, that delves into a small sample of their power.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLMVZFXc_J4

I don’t know if you noticed it or not, but in the clip above, Vatican City was mentioned as the third seat of corporate power in the triad? Hmmm maybe the Pope knows more than people give him credit for.

As I have stated before, the City if London Corporation is in a sense the NWO and controls many of the world governments, including the United States and Russia. Do you really believe that a community organizer from Chicago, could suddenly make several million dollars from selling a book, and wind up being President by chance? I don’t think so. We see politicians “on” the world stage, and forget who actually owns the world stage.

In answer to your question Greg. Yes there will be war. Albeit a brief one. The City of London Corporation (according to my source) needs to replace the collapsing dollar with a new exchange system, which they feel will be more to their liking. Like John Perkins said, the current fiat dollar one, isn’t working. And it provides a viable excuse as to what caused the collapse. So as you can see it serves two purposes.
    1. Create new currency exchange system
    2. Scapegoat for a cause.
    How convenient?

Like John Perkins said. These people make money coming and going, no matter who wins. Who do you think loans the governments the money, for weapons production?

    • mark

      Jerry,
Thank you for consistently contributing useful and thoughtful info. I am wondering as to the conflict you mentioned, (by July 15th according to the source you mentioned), what is the outcome according to your understanding and what is life here like afterwards? In other words where are “they” (the oligarchs in power) taking this whole thing and what can we here in North America look forward to? Is it the 3rd world scenario JW has been laying out? All the very best Jerry God bless

      • Jerry

        Mark ,
according to my source, the NWO will use the defeat of NATO as a demonstration to the world, that the United States is no longer a super power, and more importantly, not worthy of being the worlds reserve currency. From that point they will transition the other economies into the new gold backed Yuan system, just as Jim Willie predicted leaving the dollar in the dust. From that point ( July 15th ) forward the collapse of the dollar will pick up speed to its ultimate conclusion sometime the first quarter of 2015. That’s what I’ve been told. But I think it will be much sooner in my opinion. These men are not gods. They just have the power to manipulate the world in the direction they want it to go.
        I hope this helps .

        • Jerry

          Mark
One last thing. I believe Jim Willie is correct in his third world assessment. My source has contacts who are transitioning people and financial assets out of the country. Something like Noah loading the animals before the flood. I know the window of time is closing because they are beginning to wind down. The time is getting short. Use it wisely. As for me. I’ll probably stay here and deal with whatever happens.

          • mark

            thank you Jerry.

    • Jerry

Greg I find it hard to believe that anyone would not recognize that the Banking Cabal that John Perkins is talking about in this interview, is firmly in control of our government, after what we have witnessed the last few years. Trillions of dollars in bailouts. Market manipulation and fraud. Over thirty high level banker deaths ( that incidentally have yet to be reported on by the MSM) . Yet no prosecutions or jail time?
Its an absolute joke to believe that Congress has any power to do anything. They are all puppets for the NWO.

Great report. Not sure I understand his position on fracking. Anything that allows us to have a secure source of energy should be exploited.
Any time someone wants to squelch debate by saying the science is settled (science is never “settled”) or call the other side names such as pessimism porn, you know that their argument will not stand scrutiny. Here is new evidence about how government scientists manipulated temperature data to change it from cooling to warming.

  17. pessimest

While I agree with most of what Mr. Perkins says, one thing I disagree with is that we can “fix the current economic model”. The only fix in my opinion is for the global economy to completely collapse …. the corporate model must be completely obliterated from the face of the earth. Then and only then does humanity have a chance to rebuild something that is sustainable.

And I know that many of you find it hard to swallow but “free market” economics is NOT sustainable. No — I’m not endorsing a communist or socialist based economy …. I don’t know what kind of economy we should adopt but it can only be sustainable if it abides by the laws of nature, specifically, the laws of thermodynamics (energy) and it will only work if it is equitable for all life on this planet.

    • Galaxy 500

You wrote,”and it will only work if it is equitable for all life on this planet.” How is any system going to be equitable to all life? I have this.issue with viruses and bacteria. I do my best to kill them all and let God sort them out. And I really like a cow being an equitable steak.

      • pessimest

Again, you misunderstood what I said and for that I apologize. A system that is equitable for all life is a “natural system” meaning that all life has equal access to all natural resources. By having an issue with bacteria and viruses, you are having an issue with yourself because 90% of all DNA on your body is not of your own human DNA but of bacteria and viruses. In fact we cannot survive without them for they convert the chemical energy that we consume as food into chemical nutrients that keep us alive. The same is tre for all animals and plants on this planet, none can live without the symbiotic relationships with bacteria and viruses.

And I have no problem with eating a steak either so long as we don’t eat them all out of extinction so that no one else will ever get to eat another steak. Again, it is all about understanding the laws of nature and the conservation of matter and energy, the laws of thermodynamics, which the vast majority of people are clueless about.

        • Galaxy 500

Name one virus that is symbolic with the human body? There isnt one… and yes, I am aware of the bacteria in our GI track. Its the pneumococcal ones I have issues with.
What you propose is a fantasy….all have equally access to resources. Thats what our communist brothers preached. Everyone is equal they preached.
How do you propose to do this. Are you going to take the land I own and freely distributed it? Like all grand fantasies on paper they sound great but they will never work in reality. Perhaps we inhabit different realities but in this one , what you propose is nonsense

    • Jerry

      pessimist
You are totally right. The system is broken and has been for quite some time. Many that come here still live in the matrix believing that we can continue to print 125 Billion per month to continue this fantasy. But it is not possible. As soon as we lose reserve status (which is in progress now) the dollar will collapse, and reality will be hitting everyone (including me) between the eyes. Those in denial of this reality, can continue to believe what they want, but that still will not change reality. Life and death choices are being made, right now.

Greg, this is the corporatcracy we have to unwind which is primarily service oriented.
What “services”? Health care (treating disease) and education (indoctrinating youth into Godless secularism in order to work). It serves in lawless bloated government (plunder and debt). It serves in theft, corruption and bogus industry (insurance, law and finance). It serves in leisure and hospitality (hedonics). It serves in retail (corporate feudalism).

These “service” industries, according to BLS, account for approximately 110 million US jobs out of 137 million total. Manufacturing is only 8.9% of total jobs. How is this upside down perversion possible? The worlds reserve currency is the worthless dollar, allowing for unprecedented money printing and debt. It makes possible a US military with a budget greater than all the worlds nations combined, to protect the fiat system.

    Its a death/debt/disease/debauchery/plunder economy.

  28. Mr. Lee

Very Good interview Mr. Hunter. I agree with Mr. Perkins about leaving this world in better shape for our children.

On a side note, I do not expect to see the US dollar lose to the point of worthlessness. I think a more plausible solution is that the USD will be one of many reserve currencies that will be accepted around the globe.

What we may see is that in the cases of the 1st and 2nd National Banks of the US, the Fed may also be dissolved with a ne CB taking its place. If that happens, all Fed Reserve Notes could easily be converted to a new Note for a percentage on the dollar.

  29. EyesWideShut

    Hi Greg,

Another awesome interview! I’ve actually read Mr. Perkins’ book, “Confessions of An Economic Hitman”. I found it very enlightening, yet maddening to realize that the US is screwing the rest of the world, while at the same time preaching about free markets, and freedom & democracy! Not that I didn’t know this before, but Mr. Perkins spells out how the sham is perpetrated. Mr. Perkins said that the global corporatocracy is not a conspiracy. I think it is! Why else do most of the top corporations, the 1%, and policy makers meet to discuss world issues in Bilderberg meetings, or influence domestic and foreign policy via the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission? He also said the US made a blunder in the Ukraine! It was not a blunder, it was intentional! They knew exactly want they were doing. They were intentionally trying to provoke Russia into taking action. As savvy as Mr. Perkins is, I’m surprised he was surprised to learn from the Russians that they fear US intentions! Really? That is not a well kept secret at all! Is he not familiar with the policy papers of the Project for the New American Century where they clearly spell out the plan for world domination by encircling Russia & China to continue US hegemony? The blowup in Iraq is no accident either! Every event may not be controlled and organized, but the overall theme was planned for starting with the US training, equipping, and funding, along with its allies, of the al Qaeda/ISIS groups. This newest group, called ISIS, is just a little too well organized, equipped, and calculating to believe they are a disgruntled ragtag break off from al Qaeda. In fact, here’s an article below which claims that ISIS is operating more like a corporation! Imagine that – a corporation!

  32. Gordo,

Interesting fellow but a little too much on the left when he agress with the present Pope on economic matters. This present Pope came out of Argentina alright, where the Catholic Church, including himself it seems, was steeped in Liberation Theology – pure Marxism with a Christian bent.
As a Canadian, I also have come to believe – which your guest mentioned – that the American federal governmental administration is and probably was in some regimes, every bit as diabolical if not more so, as post-communism Russia.

    • Galaxy 500

        • Galaxy 500

Always the same debt? How do you spend the same debt twice? It doesnt work…my ex wife tried

    • Marcelo

The Pope was not steeped in Liberation Theology. In fact, he was in the opposite side. Politically he is close to peronism and peronism is right wing, nothing to do with Marxism or Left. Peronism is, ideologically, very close to fascism. Before founding Peronism, Peron spent some years in Italy where he was a Mussolini´s admirer.

      • Paul from Indiana

It can be argued that fascism is a phenomenon of the Left. In fact, any top-down type of control/government, which fascism certainly is, is a leftist phenomenon. It is the Right today that champions the individual and his freedom as the foundation of law and society. Because 20th century European fascism saw itself in competition with, and therefore the enemy of, communism, it came to be described as a right-wing approach, when actually they are two different manifestations of the same philosophy. Hitler said prior to becoming Chancellor in January, 1933, that the Nazi movement was fundamentally pro-worker and pro-union, “for we are, after all, socialists first.” This topic is covered well by Ian Kershaw, the eminent Hitler scholar. You might also Google-search Jonah Goldberg, who articulates, correctly in my view, an excellent thesis regarding fascism as a leftist phenomenon. Best always. PM

Perkins is totally out of the loop today.
The oligarchs are multinational people who
own or control almost all financial markets.
    The most recent example:
Bundy Ranch and 52 other American ranchers were being driven out of business:
The perpetrators were all oligarchs, Harry Ried and Chinese Billionares.
The depression was caused by the oligarchs as a device to increase the concentration
of the wealth of the 1 percent. Hollywood tried to create a red herring with its movies, Germany third reich etc.
    example:
    http://www.theburningplatform.com/2014/06/21/grapes-of-wrath-2011/

Some of the local oligarchs plan the future of the U. S.
    example:
    http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=7C6AF869-6491-41B0-B670-C7EFF62B6362

The truth Perkins revealed is that Governments do what certain, behind the curtain,
multinational oligarchs want. After financial control comes political control and population manipulation:

Mr. Perkins provided an interesting take on gold. Mr Perkins prefers investments that “do good” rather than do nothing.

Gold is not an investment, it’s an asset or an insurance policy that should be viewed not against other investments that provide returns but against other currencies.
The dollar does nothing (and perhaps doesn’t do good sometimes either!)

People need to stop thinking of gold as an investment and start thinking of it as a preferred form of money.

Here is an article from the so called, “common sense og”
        http://www.thecommonsenseshow.com/2014/03/09/sting-operation-in-bretton-woods-institutions/
And here is an excerpt (below)…when did lawyers get to.ratify a binding second constitution…Perhaps it was the second species on the planet. I think I was married to one for a while. Please allow me to impart some wisdom that my.father gave me. He said that when you are weighing the relative value of information, consider the source. Peace and love from planet earth,
The people in the United   States got so mad at lawyers’ gobbledygook that they amended the United States Constitution to protect themselves from lawyers. The lawyers fought back by erasing the amendment. http://www.gemworld.com/usa–original13thamend.htm And then the lawyers decided to enact a hidden Constitution in 1871 when Revolutionary War debts fell due.  https://s3.amazonaws.com/khudes/Two_Constitutions_in_US.pdf  The UK and the City of London have been subservient to the Vatican ever since the Concession of May 15, 1213. http://anationbeguiled.com/?p=1277

Agreeing in principle. I see some of the same previously debunked bs recycled here by some that claim its true because someone told them so and they point to.articles on the net that dont stand to scrutiny …that is if someone actually questions…it seems to be my curse

What’s so special about your denial ? You can go back to sleep now. Better yet, why don’t you pick up some that fertilizer that you’ve buying from the MSM and use to grow your garden with. You’ll need it.

      • Galaxy 500

What makes my denial so special? Because I look at facts and I.dont drink the koolaid. I give my denials of make believe a higher probability of accuracy than your conspiracy theories. Time will tell.

Outstanding interview. Mr. Perkins continues to shed light on how the world REALLY works.

I am so sick and tired of hearing how evil the USA is and quoting what is said in Russia – as if those lying murderous thugs can be believed. To all of you loving this guy take a good long look at Russia, her history and the blood shed in the name of communism. Our system is no longer a capitalistic system but a soft dictatorship that has toppled a great nation.

What made us great – our resources, our ability to own resources, and our ability to raise capital. Our ability to raise capital through ownership and debt instruments was facilitated by our transparent financial stamens – which were the most transparent and and time pertinent in the world. That all changed when this administration reduced us to a banana republic with the GM bond mess and then the vanishing of the mark-to-market rule for financials.

Now add in the dilution of American culture founded on Judeo-Christian values — uneducated immigration that is. Now mix in applying most of our resources towards theses deadbeats that hate us! Don’t forget the unfair traded going on for decades!

So what is going on here— if one wanted to destroy this country what would be done differently than is being done???? I am not just talking about this administration or congress yet I would define them as the true enemy of the Republic.

    • Jim H

      Angie
I don’t know what Judeo values are but I am quite sure Christian values should never be measured in “What made us great – our resources, our ability to own resources, and our ability to raise capital. Our ability to raise capital through ownership and debt instruments was facilitated by our transparent financial stamens – which were the most transparent and and time pertinent in the world. That all changed when this administration reduced us to a banana republic with the GM bond mess and then the vanishing of the mark-to-market rule for financials.” I believe John’s answer to Greg’s last question sounds much more Christlike.

      • Jim H

The Deadbeats you speak of in my humble opinion would be the Investor’s and Banker’s who chopped up millions of mortgages and sold it as stock around the world costing our nation trillions. And no they did not pay us back. We are still paying that bill as will our great, great grandchildren.

      • Galaxy 500

Sorry, I disagree. Our Christian values did and do factor in what made America great, along with some really nice natural resources.

      • Angie

What the hell does “Christ like” have to do with a response?! Please try to stick to the topic.

What an absolute leftist this guy is. Anyone who takes economic advice from a socialist/communist deserves what he gets.

  44. Isaac

He’s right in that it isn’t a national empire, but the major players absolutely do meet and work together in global institutions like the CFR, BIS, Bilderberg, etc. The industrialists have been behind the creation of the UN, the Federal Reserve, you name it. It isn’t politicians that are building the empire.

It is not the first time in history either. Refer to Antony Suttons research on the buildup of the communist Russia by using Western corporations the entire time that the US was supposedly clashing with Russia. China is the same thing, it has been converted to communism by Yale educated Mao in order to usher in the massive technology, knowledge, manufacturing, and wealth transfer.

It’s entirely deliberate and well coordinated.

The “global economic system” (GES) has not failed. The protests in Greece, Cyprus, and now London are verification that the GES of the NWO’s pursuit of ownership of the world is progressing well. The ‘end goal’ of the NWO has been identified on internal memos to be collection of the $17 trillion U.S. National Debt. Funding from the Federal Reserve’s exclusive handling of Treasury auction accounts for the NWO is identified in the following article. Footnotes link the Fed to the NWO.

    Reb
    ******************************

WHO BENEFITS FROM DEFICIT SPENDING ??

The government incurs a trillion dollar increase in the National Debt annually to spend money it does not have so congress-critters can fund pork barrel projects back home and get reelected. Is theft from the public by inflation (to ignore the perpetual interest and a fraudulent debt that can never be paid off) for the “freebies” the end of the scam?? Not hardly.

For congress to get the book entry money created on the government’s bank account, the Treasury Department must send a Treasury security to the FRBNY. Then the FR will honor checks on the account and the fiat money is added to the economic system (inflation occurs).

But what happens to the security received by the FRBNY (as collateral for a loan) ?? Why, the bank auctions it off to the Primary Dealers and pretends it has been done by the Treasury Department. The funds go to the FRBNY.

Approximately $7 trillion of the National Debt is rolled over by auctioned securities annually along with about one trillion dollars of new deficit spending securities. All of the funds are handled exclusively by the FRBNY [confirmed by government and FR websites]. The $7 trillion is credited to government accounts to pay off owners of redeemed securities (as collected by the Primary Dealers with payment to the PDs). There is no inflation or increase in the national debt incurred from the roll over.

If the one trillion dollars from auctioned deficit spending securities was credited to the government, there would be no inflation or increase in the National Debt. Where does the money go??

Like the prosecutor says: “Follow the money trail.” Seven trillion dollars goes to the PDs. One more trillion can be added to the cover and never be noticed. The auction accounts reciepts and disbursements have never been audited.

But if the trillion dollars went to the Primary Dealers, would that be repaying the owners of the Fed (who own and control the BOG) for the “loan” they had given the government so the government could spend the money they did not have?

That is the scam that was used by the Rothschild family in Europe centuries ago and was resurrected on Jekyll Island in 1912. There is no consideration put up for the pretended “loan.” If consideration (money) had been put up, there would not be an increase in the amount of money in circulation (inflation), The transfer of money to the PDs from the auctioned deficit spending securities is pure profit. It amounts to $4 billion every day—7/52.

By law, all profit of the Fed belongs to the government. Hiding money that belongs to the government is a crime. The Federal Reserve embezzles one trillion dollars annually from the government. Since 1913, they have embezzled a total of $17 trillion.

So who will prosecute the Fed ? For an answer to that question, you might ask your congress-critter.

    {It is noted the greenies in your pocket are identified as “Federal Reserve Notes.” They are a debt of the FR. If the FR BOG is a privately held corporation owned by select members of the Primary Dealers, it does not have to expose the corporate status to the SEC. Is the BOG is operating as a government contractor or as a government agency? The question has never been adjudicated, but the “day to day control” the SC has declared determines the status of an agency seems to be lacking. A contract with a private corporation does not involve sovereign immunity. A contract that is impossible to culminate, such as an inability to pay off the National Debt, is a matter of fraud. A contract involving fraud is void from its inception, }

Greg this man is insane, just as Catherine Austin Fitts and Paul Craig Roberts. These people deserve no airtime, opinion or attention drawn to them in any way, shape or form.
This talk of doing things because they are moral and serve many of our worlds people could bring down the whole pyramid and cause many non productive people to lose their trillions and power over the masses. My God Greg don’t you realize this message could ruin all the lies and deceit it took to get us to the point of collapse. Please brother, in the future when a guest suggest anything but profit can save us, edit these comments out or veer the conversation back in the direction that serve the desires of the few, the Elite and the chosen. The sooner we get this interview behind us and get back to how to make for profit work better, the better off at least a few of us will be.
Excuse my sarcasm and God bless you for allowing this man to be heard.
Confessions of an Economic Hit Man is a very poorly written book, I highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the real problem facing us. I believe every word he writes in this book.

Several years ago someone (Michael Ruppert?) described this guy as a “cutout”, to use the intelligence term. While much of what he says is and has the ring of truth, ultimately he misleads and points one in the wrong direction. That would make sense here since he states that corporations don’t conspire. Even a superficial understanding of the Bilderbergs, Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission leads one to see that the corporate owners and oligarchs do indeed conspire (with zero transparency) to influence and direct international events and trends.

No one ever thinks about the water. Or the toilet paper, as it were.

But these are among the many, many staples that become luxuries when one’s nation is in crisis.

Hours ago, the local gas company in Kiev (Kyivenergo) announced that they would be shutting off the hot water supply to most of the city.

While the official reason for the hot water shutoff is that Kyivenergo (the energy supplier to Kiev) owes a debt to the Ukrainian state gas company (Naftogaz) of over $100 million.

It’s just a quirky little coincidence that this debt suddenly became materially important only one week after Russia shut off natural gas supplies to Ukraine.

Funny thing is that Ukrainian politicians for years had been telling people not to worry about this.

Some common ground between us. It wouldn’t take long for things.to get really bad. Stop the flow of electricity during the.heat of summer or the.dead of winter for a week or two. Water systems damaged. People have no idea what a.luxury toilet paper is but when things get tough it will be just one of the many lessons the people of our country relearn.

    • Paul from Indiana

Jerry, I read this document as presented at the link. Thanks for sharing. My first impression is that the so-called New World Order sounds, looks, and acts very much like the Old World Order. The Hudes woman wants to be “in” so badly, she has resorted to fantasy and delusion. If she is completely on the level, then ALL of us have fallen down the rabbit hole. Ferdinand Marcos? THE Ferdinand Marcos? So Imelda’s shoes and storage chamber were a cover for all of General Yamashita’s gold? Best always. PM

      • Paul from Indiana

General Yamashita was a man of foresight and character. For those who want to see a different side of different times, I recommend the great expose written by the British journalist, John Deane Potter. The book, originally pubished in 1962, is titled “The Life and Death of a Japanese General”. It is a real eye-opener, possibly even a life-changer. And nowhere is there mentioned any gold hoard in the Philippines! Best always. PM

Greg you certainly have many intelligent guests but you also have a few that flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

  53. Jerry

Greg, I’m posting this information for those people who still think politicians and elected officials have meaning.

    A
new browser plug-in developed by a 16 year old programmer has revolutionized the ability to see exactly which corporate and sovereign entities own your politicians through their campaign contributions. Known as Greenhouse, this plug-in links directly to OpenSecrets.com, and will give a profile and contributor listing each time you hover over an article or page that cites the name of a U.S. elected official.

My definition of politics – Poly is Latin for many. Ticks are blood suckers. Many bloodsuckers. There you go.

    • Paul from Indiana

Jerry–very clever! And accurate (except “poly” is Greek, not Latin)! And then there are “tics”, as in involuntary muscular contractions, as in “nervous tics” so maybe the many bloodsuckers should be nervous, too. Best always. PM

These guys were too hard on G. There is a whole ‘nother side to the FEMA story and we all know at least something about it. Sure a lot of this FEMA money wasting came out of the Katrina fiasco. I have not bothered arguing this till now but the other side is that after the ridiculous failure of the City of NO, the State of Louisiana and the Feds, who by the way accepted too much blame for not nanny caring for a bunch of people that believed their lies and did not bother to take of themselves, the FEDS decided to do it different next time. And no one actually knows if next time will be a hurricane or a pandemic. The built refugee camps instead of dumping them into Houston like last time and believe me the common people there still reach a boiling point very quickly when the subject comes up. (Another reason the DHS dumping border jumper kids got so much attention so fast. I say send them to FEMA camps.) The plastic body dumpsters is for quick burial of the worst disease spreader of all, dead human bodies. Food storage is also a necessary item for refugee people, so it is not a big deal really. Wait now, if it wasn’t for the Obama Admin violating so much of our constitution and scaring the hell our of us with his transformation of us to third world country we wouldn’t be concerned. If he and the Dept of AG weren’t buying all the hollow point bullets to keep us from getting them, and doing all these police state things at the same time we wouldn’t care. If the NSA wasn’t sniffing every bathroom fart while the criminal IRS was committing treason we wouldn’t care. It is the Obama gone lawless government not the FEMA camps that is the problem. And I gotta’ at least see a picture of Guilliotines before I go there. Back to Bullets a second, you can buy 7.62 and 5.56 rounds as cheap as you could up to when he took office and by the thousands. Just knowing that ought to tell you I am not in the mindless sheeple department. Now give me some evidence?!
